The lovely bride featured in the image, Sara, was just married at Ogren Gardens, a beautiful wedding venue in Eugene, Oregon. The owners, Vona and Harold, are in the process of building their dream house on the site and as a result, that area of the grounds is a bit unpolished. The wedding was on Winter Springs Ranch, a private ranch situated on 1000+ acres above the Rogue River and near the Kalmiopsis Wilderness. Although it requires a bit of extra travel, Josh and I are always glad to be Oregon Coast wedding photographers.

Two weeks ago, we had the opportunity to be photographed by our friend and mentor, Glen Johnson of Aperture Photographics. Josh and I were headed to a prom party and decided to make the most of the occasion- as parents of a two-and-a-half year old, we don't get out much. We asked Glen to shoot some photos. Josh, Ada and I trucked down to California for Spring Break. The goal was to attend a conference in San Diego and visit some friends and family along the way. San Diego was an amazing place. Being from Pennsylvania, I am used to snow. In fact, I look forward to real seasonal change. Eugene generally has three seasons: Warm and Dry, Cold and Wet and Warm and Wet. But this Sunday, we were surprised with a bona fide snow storm, accumulating 6-8 inches! So Ada, Josh and I got out the snow pants! Click on the photo to enlarge.

Josh, Ada and I are safely back in Eugene after an extended stay in Pennsylvania. We hear folks back in PA are feeling pretty chilly these days. My dad said it was 9 degrees when he left for work this morning.

Josh woke me up from a sound sleep to apologize for getting on my case earlier. I was late getting home after class and made him 15 minutes late for his gig at the Eugene Whiteaker Hostel. It is (was) Last Friday Art Walk in the Whiteaker and as usual, our buddy Mac hosted evening festivities including music, food and drink.
