I haven't read the book, but my 17 year old daughter has..and I know a lot of little girls, we're talking 10-12 yrs old who have read the series! I saw the movie last week. The thing that really bothered me was that she pursued Edward, knowing that he was a vampire...she went into the woods with him, in a very dangerous situation...he told her he almost couldn't control his desire to kill her and she says, "I trust you." Not only did she put herself in danger and choose to ruin her whole life, but she also put her family in danger. I think it is a really sick commentary on what girls will put up with in a romantic relationship as long as the guy is HOT, really, really loves her, etc. Scary stuff!daveandjoel@yahoo.comhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00188659743064161592noreply@blogger.com
