The alien invasion has begun, and Washington is its epicenter. One guy, Secret Service agent Michael Ford, is apparently the only earth-ling who can save the planet. At the holiest of a shadowy organization called The Trust, Ford is given this directive: If it moves, shoot it.

No, "The Condi/it" (Sega of America inc., for the Wii, $49.99) doesn't have the most original premise for a video game. Fans of the dozens of other alien shooters that have come out over the years, from "Doom" to "Halo" to "Resistance: Foil of Man, " may not see it as anything special.

But if you live in a Wii-only household, and you're sick of Xboji and PlayStation owners getting all the action, you've probably had your eye on "The Conduit."
First-person shooters have been all too rare on Nintendo's family friendly console - there's "Metroid Prime 3: Corruption" and a number of high-end franchises (like "Call of Duty" and "Far Cry") that were scaled back for the less powerful Wii.
Developer High Voltage Software built "The Conduit" with the Wii in mind, though, and it plays to the system's strengths and weaknesses. The graphics may not dazzle, but they're crisp and even, occasionally, beautiful.

More significantly, "The Conduit" lets you use the Wii remote the way you've always wanted to: as a gun. To shoot, you just aim the wand at your target and pull the trigger.

Other buttons let you jump, crouch or switch weapons, while the Wii nunchuck is used to move around and throw grenades.
You also use the wand to control the All-Seeing Eye, a sort of spherical flashlight that helps you decipher puz¬zles and unlock secret rooms. All the actions feel so natural that it's puzzling that more companies haven't created Wii shooters.
And if the default controls aren't to your liking, they're fully adjustable. You can shrink or increase your weapon's firing zone, alter the remote's sensitivity or move around Cor delete) the on-screen displays. I'd love to sec; such flexibility on high^i er-definition games.

High Voltage hasn't let the Wii's limitations deter it from creating a top-notch presentation. Most notable is the voice acting, particularly by Mark Sheppard (who played jaded lawyer Romo Lampkin on "Battlestar Galactica ") as agent Ford. The story in "The conduit" has some clever twists, but the game is com¬pletely linear, without any side missions to distract from the main plot.

Overall, "The Conduit" is a satisfying adventure for hardcore gamers who have felt neglected by Nintendo's offerings. The Wii could use more games like it. Three stars out of four.

I was conduct a simple question "Games cheat, why you use it?" and the result are like following:

Cheat codes help you when you're struggling in a game and can't find an alternative method to accomplish your goal. They shouldn't be used all the time because they don't let you accomplish something on your own and that defeats the whole purpose of the game.

I believe in the cheats, the whole cheats, and nothing but the cheats. It's what I do, hack cheat codes for video games.

I won't buy a console if I can't cheat on it.

I started cheating because I was tired of dying over and over again in games. That gets really old, really fast.

For me, games are a way to have fun. I want to relax and see what the game has to offer. It’s true that a challenge is good in a video game too, but only if the challenge is fun.

So I use cheats in most of my single-player games. The cheat codes allow me to experience the storyline, graphics, etc. in a game with less stress at the thought of my character dying and having to start at the last save point.

Some games are a lot of fun without codes, and one of my favorites is multi-player Goldeneye.

But sometimes games are extra fun when you have infinite ammo, and all the coolest weapons/gear/etc in every part or level of the game.

Long story short: Sometimes cheats/codes make a game more fun...and the whole point of the game is to have fun.

The Game

Flash Element TD is an addictive game in which you build towers to stop waves of enemies. Each level is a separate wave of enemies, which get stronger as the levels get higher. Although the game is not to difficult at first, many people get stuck at level 37, and I will admit that I too was stuck there until I found a strategy. To play this game just visit the website BreakTaker.

How To Play

You start the game of in the quiet before wave 1(Sheep-10HP-1g) with 40 gold and 20 lives. On the right side of the screen you will see a selection of towers(only basic towers at first) that you can buy to stop the waves of the enemies. To buy a tower simply click it in this selection are and then click where you would like to put it on the map, on the left. This placement can be crucial, for if your tower covers a lot of the path the enemies walk on(the brown path) than it can do maximum damage. To know how far you tower covers just pay attention to the circle that is created around your mouse as you place the tower. Know that you know how to create a tower you may want to know how to upgrade them. To do this you simply click on any already created tower and look where the tower selection screen was. Here you will find the info for your tower, and at the bottom buttons to upgrade and to sell your tower. Now you may wonder how to get better towers than the basic ones, like the elemental towers and the Combo Tower. To get these towers you need to research that particular area(fire for fire tower, water for water tower, earth for earth tower, and all three for the combo tower). You can research one of these areas once you get what is called a wood(You will be notified in the message are under the map when you get a wood). To use your wood all you need to do is click what you want to research at the bottom of the tower selection screen. Also at the bottom is the chance to buy and extra life, which may help in a pinch.

cheat:	Before getting started you need about 6000 gold. Go to the Imperial City Market distict. Then head into the staff shop. Purchase the staff of Apothesis. Now use your Duplication cheat and Duplicate some soul gems. I would suggest Lesser Soul Gems or greater. Now head into the Arena Bloodworks. With this weapon you can usually kill your oponents with One shot (some of them are more like the Current Grand champion). As soon as you kill your opponent run down collect your reward and then head back up and kill some more. Do this over and over. I complete the arena in less then One Cyrodil Day.

Microsoft has partnerships with dozens of TV networks to bring you their latest and greatest shows. You can download the latest South Park just a few days after it airs. You can download condensed versions of NASCAR races. You can download ESPN’s College Football Game of the Week. You can even get the entire series of Lost if you want to. There is a ton of content here, and it is all just a button press or two away on your Xbox 360.

These TV shows aren’t free, however. The cost is about 160 points ($2) for standard-definition episodes and 240 ($3) for high-definition episodes.

The cost for downloading these movies is about the same as a movie rental. Prices have a range from 240 MS points ($3) for standard-definition on up to 480 MS points ($6) for high-def movies. It also must be noted that you cannot keep movies that you download. Once you start watching a movie, the rental will expire in 24 hours. You can watch it as many times as you want in that time period. After you download a movie, you have up to 14 days to start watching it before the 24 hour time period kicks in.

Other Things to Consider

There are a few other things to consider before diving into the video marketplace. Depending on your download speed, movies and TV shows can take a while to download. You can start watching videos before they are 100% finished downloading, but you still need to give movies a few hours head start before you start watching. Movies, and in particular high-def movies are very big files, several GB in size, which is why they take so long. Not only is download time a consideration, but hard drive space is also something you have to be careful of. Make sure you have plenty of room on your Xbox 360 hard drive before you start downloading anything. If you want to make extensive use of the video marketplace, you might consider upgrading your hard drive to the 120 GB model that comes either as a stand alone ($180) or included with the Elite version of the Xbox 360 system ($450).

When I see my children and grandchildren sit in front of computer or television screens for hours on end, I wonder if this can be good for them. Although it seems to me it teaches them good hand to eye coordination.

I know some of the games are very violent but I’m not talking about the violent ones for Nintendo, Xbox or Playstations. That’s a whole new story.

Some of these children can’t sit for 30 minutes reading a book or doing their homework but put an Nintendo, Play station, Xbox or Wii control in their hands and they are there for hours

When my children were smaller I worried about them sitting too close to the television for hours, ruining their eyes. I guess that comes from not being raised with a television. We played outdoors, walked everywhere and invented ways to stay busy. Then along came Sony, Panasonic, Magnavox and RCA with televisions and houses being air conditioned and there went the outside play.

In this new age of electronics which seems to boggle the minds of us older generation, I wonder if we are not a little jealous. How much easier it would have been to run our businesses with cell phones and computers.

When I went online to www.wordtracker.com and put in the key words electronic games. I was appalled at what came up: People wanted cheat sheets for Nintendo, Xbox, Playstation2 and Wii games. The top ones were “ps 2 game cheats” with a count of 14602 hits in 24 hours, ‘game cheats for ps2’with 17042 hits in 24 hours, “playstation2 game cheats” with 4858 and “games cheat” with 3898 in 24 hours.

What is this teaching our children? I want to win but I don’t want to cheat doing it. Maybe the children of today don’t think this is cheating but just smart tactics since every one can copy the cheat sheets off the internet and all have the same advantage. Maybe it is not cheating and I am just over reacting. As I read thru one of the sheets it seemed complicated to remember all of this in a fast pace game. But on the bright side “games play” came in with 21377 in a 24 hour period, “play game” with 8078, “play games” with 4102 and “games” with 7949 in a 24 hour period.

I guess time will tell the effects of all these electronic video games, but one thing for sure it certainly keeps the brain dusted off and active.

Taking a look at some of the clichés that keep showing up in today’s games

Is it the blue wire or the red wire? The clock is ticking on the bomb as you hold a pair of wire cutters while all around you innocent civilians are being evacuated. Just a couple of minutes ago, your loyal and most trusted partner for 12 years was killed right in front of you with today being the day he was going to retire from the force to live in Payson, Arizona . . . or was it Fort Lauderdale, Florida? Oh if only you could have hijacked that expensive fresh-off-the-dealer’s-lot Lamborghini from that surprisingly hot underwear model much sooner or took the freeway that didn’t have that huge section missing (thank God for that well placed ramp).

Yet here you are, kneeling before a bomb that looks as though it was designed by a comic book villain rather than a criminally insane media mogul that only seconds ago fell to his death after you said an incredibly witty one-liner. Oh sure he gave you no choice. I mean he did shoot you in the chest before he plunged to his death, but thanks to that whiskey flask you have in the breast pocket of your expensive leather jacket (that seems to instantly dry itself the second you step out of a pool of water) the bullet was magically drawn to the flask and thus missing any vital organs it should have hit. Which leads to our current dilemma . . . the blue wire or the red wire?
