Surprising news on rhe Alien remake dront comes from Variety, who state that franchise originator Ridley Scott will be returning to direct. Variety reports that Steven Spielberg's next film will be a remake of invisible rabbit movie Harvey. The article describes the project as an adaptation of the original 1944 play by Mary Chase, as opposed to the 1950 James Stewart adaptation. Casting and pre-production will begin immediately, with Tom Hanks seemingly perfectly suited to the role. Filming is expected to begin early 2010.
