Well, today I start outpatient physical therapy. It's supposed to last two weeks.

However, the big news is that I drove myself to church yesterday. It was really an emotional experience for me to sit in the congregation after many weeks of being away. It felt so good when my Pastor shook my hand and welcomed be back. Once again I am in debt for the prayers and good thoughts of my many friends.

Good News

My doctor visit yesterday resulted in G O O D news! I have been declared no longer "Home Bound" and don't have to return to him until September. My progress is excellent. I thank God and all of you who have prayed for me.

A Month

Yesterday marked one month since my surgery. I find it hard to believe how much progress I've made. The infection is gone! Now it's just a matter of exercising and getting stronger. Your prayers and good thoughts have been integral in my progress. Thank you.

Answered Prayers

Somewhere I heard that all prayers are answered and I firmly believe that statement. Even more, I know that all prayers are heard. I pray on a regular basis and included in my prayers of late were prayers for my daughter Edith to find work. Edith now has a job offer and will begin on July 1. Amen

Progress

The week is starting on a good note. My knee incision has stopped oozing and I think I'm on the mend. It'll be several days until I visit the surgeon, but all seems to be pointing to a good report.

The question is now my auto which is deader than a doornail. I hope to get it towed to the dealer today and find out what the scoop is.

The Doctors Said

Monday & Tuesday were Doctor days.

On Monday the surgeon said I had a minor infection and all else was well I don't have to see him until July 2.

Tuesday my Internist looked for ways to make me healthier, all of which I said "No" to except some meds to lower my BP which isn't all that high anyway.

Oh well, she just wants me to be at my best while I'm pretty content to be as I am.

I'm fortunate to have a doctor who truly cares for my welfare.

On The Mend

Well, I guess this is what is called recuperating. I'm having problems with my knee seeping so I'm on antibiotics and have an appointment with the surgeon later this morning. Oh well, I guess when you consider it's only been about two and a half weeks since surgery, things are pretty good. I have had to suspend my excersises, but maybe the doctor will allow me to start up.

I have little patience so I want instant healing. It ain't gonna happen!

He's Baaaaaaaaaaaaaaack

I came home yesterday and all is well. I will keep rehabbing for a while until all is well with my knee.

I thank God every day for all my friends and family and for all the prayers said on my behalf . "My cup truly doth runneth over".

I am also truly unaware of why I am so blessed by God, but I am forever grateful.

This will be my last post for a while. Thursday is surgery day. Then, after 3 days in the hospital, it will be off to rehab for ???.
So, I don't know when I'll have access to the net.

Busy

Well, I had a busy and eventful week. A final pint of blood in prep for my surgery and on Sunday officially becoming a member of my new church.

I had Edie and Jim as overnight guests Saturday and then Beth, Craig & Meg met us at the church so we all attended together.

After church we had lunch at IHOP and then a great afternoon together at my home.

I really am blessed to have family that care so much about me.

Two doctors appoinments this week in preparation for the surgery so I'll have plenty to help pass my time.

Operation Update

Just to keep all who are interested up-to-date on my upcoming knee surgery.

Yesterday I went to the hospital to donate the first of two pints of blood that could be used for me if needed.

The day before I was there for a orientation on the surgery and other aspects of the hospitalization and recovery.

I am really impressed with the people and how much they really seem to care.

Oh, by the way, there was a guy in the class who I had met at a Masonic funtion a week ago. Small world.

I saw the orthopedic surgeon today about my knee and I will have a knee replacement in about a month. I sure will be glad to get rid of the pain.

Great Weekend!

I had guests this weekend. Daughters Edie, Beth and grand daughter Megan stayed over Saturday night and we all went to church Sunday morning.

It was really great having them here to keep me company. We ate a local Japanese restaurant which was OK, but no rave reviews. Next time we'll go with Chinese.

Let's see, what else is new. Thank goodness ... nothing. I'm a big fan of the mundane. I've had enough excitement in making my relocation over the last few months so I just want to get bored now.

Not quite yet.

I have finished with most of the mundane chores connected with moving, but there still are a few to go. I will be finding more things to do to take up my time. Just this past Saturday, I attended a Masonic funcion and connected with some old friends.

I am also looking forward to getting involved in my new church.

Every day is an adventure.

That's the best way to describe my Easter. Church was packed and I was certainly moved. Then, Easter dinner at Edie's.

Jim's Mom & Hank were there and Debbie's friend Colby was also there.

We had a great meal and really super time for chatting. I couldn't ask for any more.

I still wonder what I have done to be so blessed.

Well, now that the ordeal with car and license and moving all the direct deposits and getting the new PC up and running, what's next.

I suspect, and hope, that there always be something to do.

I really doesn't seem possible that all these little pains are over and that I could worry about such trivial junk. I guess that's what drives life. And yet as I look around and see people dealing with violent death, earthquakes, floods, and more I feel truly blessed that all I have to deal with is trivia.

And, speaking of blessings, for we Christians, it is Holy Week, and finally Easter.

Early Bird

I did it again, somehow I erased my new post. I'm not gonna reconstruct, Suffice it to say I now have a Ct registration for my car and my trips to the DMV have ended.

I get an MRI on my knee tomorrow and will see the DR in about a month so I'll find out what he will do to fix my knee.

Maybe next week I'll get to a more informative blog, but for now, this is it.

PROGRESS?

I'm not sure, but I think I am making progress with changing all the little things we take for granted like auto registration, magazine subscriptions, organization memberships, etc. I'm not done yet, but I really think I'm making progress.

I'll be starting to do online volunteer work on the UCC Coalition website. Not sure just what what this will entail, but I'm up for it.

It seems as though I'm leaving something out, but this will be it for now. If I remember what else I meant to say I'll add it later.

So, What Else Is New?

Well, the answer is not much since I wrote on Wednesday. I continue to be in a wait state for the final documents to be submitted to the DMV.

I did get to great grand daughter's 2nd birthday party and had a good time.

Big things for this week is an appointment with my new MD in hope that I will start the process for getting my knee fixed and a trip to the new dentist for a cleaning.

Life is beginning to fall into a pattern and that's good.

Spring comes on Friday!

I would have thought that by now I would have completed my business with the Department Of Motor Vehicles ... RIIIIGHT!

Armed with all the data I needed (or so I thought) I arrived at the DMV at 9:00 this morning. By 10:00 I had my new CT Drivers License and approached the next part, getting a vehicle registration. Oh, I now needed to get my car checked for emissions. So I left the DMV and found a place close by to do the check (cost $20.00). Back to the DMV and a long wait. Almost finished and when they looked at my FL registration it still had Ruby's name on it. I was instructed to contact my loan provider and have them send me a title without Ruby's name on it.

Oh, what do think now? I needed a copy of the death certificate!

I looked all through my papers and no go. So, a phone call to Haines City which told me to contact the funeral director.

I have made my request and now wait for the documents.

So I invested 3 more hours today and am a little closer and a lot more frustrated!!!

FRUSTRATED

Of all the things associated with moving, the one I dreaded most was registering my car and getting a CT drivers license and ya know what? I was right. This activity has caused me no end of anguish.

I'm still trying to get an original of my birth certificate (a copy won't do) and neither will the fact that I'm a licensed Florida driver.

I stood in a DMV line for a long time and eventually had a not really helpful state employee tell me to get the right papers and try again.

Maybe someday I'll get this done ... I hope.

Other than that, things are going well. I have a church and get regular calls from my children and even a weekend stay over from Edie.

I guess I can handle a few pains in the butt.

Like A Lion

As you may guess, I refer to the heavy winter storm raging outside my window. I count myself as really fortunate in not having to venture out in this storm. I've seen traffic snarled up and down the east coast and I sure am happy to be home and watching on TV.

So, I start another week. Biggest thing planned is to get my car registered here in Ct and to get a CT driver's license. Oh well, if not this week next.
