Congratulations to one of our very own Community Education Instructors, Rick Deutsch, who was recently featured on OpenRoad.TV with host Doug McConnell on hiking Yosemite's Half Dome. Rick teaches an extremely popular course on how to safely and successfully climb this incredible landmark.

In the fall, Rick will also have a new course titled - "Boomers: Get up and Get Active!" Stay tuned for further details.

The De Anza College Summer Youth Enrichment Program is now enrolling students in grades K-10. These enrichment classes are designed for students performing academically at or above grade level.

Popular Demand: New Session of Santa Cruz Mountain Wine Tour Now Enrolling!

UPDATE: We have now opened a fourth section of a Santa Cruz Mountain Wine Tour. The tour is scheduled on Sunday, April 27th. Course number is (TRIP604.S4)

With the catalog now out, classes are beginning to sell out fast. One of our recent additions - The Santa Cruz Mountain Wine Tour - has sold out the first two sections. We've just added a new tour date on Sunday, April 13th - at the time of this post, it's almost sold out as well. If further demand arises, we will open up an additional section on Sunday, April 27th. Stay tuned for more details.

I went on a tour with the Santa Cruz Experience in November - I have nothing but good things to say. The knowledge of the guides, catered lunch and, most of all, the wines were fantastic. Well worth it!

October - A Big Month for Short Courses!

With the month of October in full swing, and many Short Courses set to begin, we wanted to remind you of a few things you might not be aware of:

The campus has changed over the past year. We encourage you to download a campus map to familiarize yourself with the new buildings and parking areas.

The ADM classrooms are located in the Administration Building as listed in the center of the map.

Don't forget parking costs two dollars - bring quarters and dollar bills.

Contact our office if you are unsure as to where to go for a class the week prior to it starting.

Walk-in registration is entirely okay, but we strongly recommend contacting us before you head to class. You will need to fill out a walk-in registration form and attach payment either by writing a personal check or filling out you credit card info. in the space provided.

Foothill-De Anza Kicks Off Classes Next Week!

Both Foothill and De Anza Colleges kick off classes on Monday September 24. The De Anza College campus center is open with a slightly fresher look, especially in the food service area. The campus also has new signs leading into campus, as well as new lighting located throughout the major walkways and thoroughfares throughout campus.

If you have not been to campus in a while, construction is underway at the old mod quad site. The theatre and performing arts center construction appears to be on schedule.

Parking could get a little hectic next week on campus as we welcome students back.
