New Dolly!

This week I received a very special dolly, she is a Sybarite ball jointed resin doll (16 inches tall) - and she's just beautiful! I don't have an outfit for her yet, but here she is draped in green organza, what a stunner :) If you would like to know more about Sybarite dolls please visit http://www.superfrock.com/ . Here is a pic of my gorgeous boy Thomas. 21 months now, I can't believe how time is flying by. He is such a sweet boy, but a handful at times too. He has just learnt how to jump, so he's jumping all over place at the moment! It's amazing how much energy he has.

It's been a while since I wrote on my blog, I really must update this more! It feels like I've had a busy couple of weeks. Been doing a lot of bearmaking and working on new concepts. I have a new cloth doll planned, just need to actually sit down and start on the prototype! I recently made a new mini bear named "Pickles". He was available on my site and was adopted quickly. I have nearly finished another little bear. Due to numerous requests I will also be making some rabbits and horses next - so watch this space :)

Momo the Bear

A bit late writing about this little one as he has already been on ebay and sold. But his name is "Momo" and stood at just 2 inches! I had a fantastic response to him, so many emails from people it was fantastic :)

Plushies!!!

I came up with this idea to make a japanese style teddy bear plushie in the shape of a slice of toast, don't ask me why lol:) but I thought it would be cute, so I got to desigining him and made him out of craft velour. This is the end result, what do you think? Very different to my normal bears. He was so fun to make. I might list him on Etsy, not sure yet.

Here is one of my favourite pics of my son, Thomas, playing at the beach - taken 2 weeks ago at Blairgowrie. It was a wonderful day, Thomas was so excited to be there and just loved stomping in the water and shoveling the sand.

Here is a sneak preview of my latest miniature cat "Mischa". She will be available on ebay soon. She has a slightly different face to my previous cats, the eyes are set lower and the nose is bigger - I think she looks really cute and more kitten like!

Gone crazy - more dolls coming!

Well, I've gone a bit crazy and ordered 4 more dolls - one more full size Blythe (Star Dancer - see left) and 3 Petites (Friendly Giraffe, Baby Bloomer and Samedi Marche - see below) ! Very excited - it will be a really good start to my collection - now just have to clear some shelf space (poor cabbage patch dolls might be relegated to the cupboard for now!)

Ok, gave into temptation and bought my first Blythe doll - "Mod Molly"! She wasn't going to be the first one I'd buy, but the price and shipping was really good. I've never actually seen a Blythe "in the plastic" before, can't wait to see what they're like!

Welcome to Caya's Corner. After starting a few blogs, one dedicated to bears, another dedicated to dolls - I have decided to consolidate and just have one blog to talk about everything!

What's going on at the moment? Well, I am in the planning stages of making a new miniature cat. The idea first came to me from Rosey Day (thanks Rosey!) to make a cat for the "Spring" themed editorial request for Teddy Bear & Friends Mag. I am hoping to make this cat more kitten like and very innocent looking - hopefully take some cute photos and it will be chosen for the mag feature.

The other main thing happening at the moment is I am getting into doll collecting in a huge way! I have discovered Blythe dolls - I just LOVE them! I'm hoping to buy my first doll soon to start off my collection.
