What is your blog/website about?
Being obnoxious I thought it would be great to be a voice and connect with other moms that are home isolated as I have been for years or connect with the moms trying to juggle life in the work force. Being that we are not in a June Cleaver society anymore, motherhood can now be seen as real and raw, as I portray it in my blog posts. I have made absolutely wonderful connections and friends through blogging. Another reason why I enjoy mom - blogging is, I feel connected with my followers because I get to peek into their world too! I have realized that we all live such similar lives, just some mothers like me live it more obnoxiously than most!

You will also find at times I am the cheerleader and cheer on mothers to not give up and that they are doing a wonderful job, changing one diaper at a time.

Why did you join Twitter?
I am a new member to Twitter and have found it such an awesome tool in not only marketing my blog, but I have also found some fantastic websites that I would have never known about as well. I love the social aspect because it can be the biggest chat room ever at anytime! For a home mother that is such a great tool to have to have instant contact with the outside world.

How are you using Twitter?
I am using Twitter to advertise my Blog and I also look for interesting websites that I can refer to in the future. I also use it to connect with other mom bloggers who share the same passion as I do by putting silly thoughts into cyberspace.

My Write About Everything website is to market my freelance writing business. That blog is directed toward up and coming freelance writers and Internet businesses on how to earn money writing on the web.

72 Hour Brainstorm is a great, low cost way to get some writing services fast and inexpensively. We focus solely on ad slogans, press releases, short sales pages and a short autoresponder series to promote your business.

Infinite Women is a membership site that is focused on helping women become empowered and independent after leaving an abusive relationship. It isn't directed at the "how do I get out" angle, because their are many incredible resources that already do that.

Instead, this is geared toward women who have already left their abusers, but are still so emotionally bruised and battered they haven't been able to move forward in their lives.

At Infinite Women we offer two sources of help. First, we have a program that helps women regain their strength and self-esteem and remember who they are in this Universe. We help them learn to take back their power and move forward into a new life filled with hope, abundance and safety that is based on their own independence and skills.

Secondly, we have a business program that teaches women how to discover their passion and make a living from it. Whether they want to build a business online or off line, we give them the tools and information they need to get started. By developing her own business, a woman creates her own reality and financial security, which further empowers her to continue living safe and sane after the fallout of living in the nightmare of abuse.

Karen and I are both survivors of abuse who have learned how to step out and step into financial freedom and security as a result of learning how to love and appreciate our uniqueness as women.

Why did I join Twitter?

I joined Twitter to network and market my freelance writing business. I wanted to find a way that I could let people get to know me, as well as make them aware of my business. What I discovered as I spent time there, is Twitter is so much more than just marketing!

How are you using Twitter?

I use Twitter to make connections with real people, not just websites and blogs. Because of Twitter's immediate interaction, you can have conversations at a completely different level than email or blog comments.

I love the social aspect of Twitter. Freelancing is a solitary business, and we all need to be connected with other people to stay creative and content. Twitter is a fabulous way to share information and really connect with others. It seems odd to people who haven't jumped on the Twitter bandwagon that it could actually facilitate real relationships, but it does.

Both 72 Hour Brainstorm and Infinite Women are joint ventures that I have been fortunate enough to become involved in as a result of Twitter.

I also use Twitter to find new clients for my writing business. I have a Twitter Special that I offer to people that I meet through Twitter. (You can find it my clicking on my link in my Twitter profile! )

Another feature of Twitter that really needs to be mentioned? It is FABULOUS for some good humor and chuckles! When ever I am feeling over worked or overwhelmed by business or personal demands, I know I can jump on Twitter and find someone or something that makes me laugh out loud! Huge stress reliever- try it!

Initially to check it out from the advice of friends and online contacts, which turned into promotion of my Zenzuu link, then went on to both learn from others on Twitter and to share interesting links and information I came across in relation to my special fields of interest.

How are you using Twitter?

The main three ways I use Twitter are to keep up with new trends, to netwrok and socialise and to build relationships with people who are likeminded.

Why did you join Twitter and how are you using Twitter now?
I joined Twitter initially to network, but now I find that it is such a great tool to learn about whatever areas interest you. I get to follow people who are authorities in technology, fashion, crafts, etc. It is also a great way to meet new people that you find interesting. For those of us that work alone, it can be a great way to connect to people when you need a little dose of human contact. It is also amazing how twitter lets you get the news first, before the official news channels are posting it. It makes everything so immediate. Obviously, if I can make business contacts and get new clients, fantastic, but twitter is so much more than that.

Anything else you would like to share?
For newbies, I would just say, don't get discouraged and click away from Twitter, it does take a bit of getting used to. Those that are totally new to twitter don't understand how you find people, or what is purpose really is, but there are so many wonderful resources and helpful people out there to guide you. Just try Googling 'twitter getting started' or something similar, and you will see all the help that is available out there. It really is a great tool for so many purposes.

What is your blog/website about?
I dedicated my blog to my mom who didn't like to cook. I grew up watching her and I picked up the trait and then became the cook at 12 years old. I remember the first meal I cooked was spaghetti and meatballs! She was more than afraid to taste it but she did and then she told me mine was better than hers! I thought she was lying to make me feel good until I saw her go for seconds which she hardly ever did! I knew then I had found something I would love all my life.

My goal is to take the everyday ingredients, my mom always kept in her pantry and what I keep in mine, and show others how these can make great looking and great tasty meals. You don't have to spend a lot of money or time to have good and healthy dishes and if I can help anyone learn to cook or enjoy cooking for themselves more, than my blog will definitely be worth all the work I put into it!

Why did you join Twitter?
Actually this is a twofold answer, believe or not I am shy when meeting new people! I grew up kind of isolated and so talking to people took years for me to get comfortable with. As I have gotten older, it has become increasingly easier, but I still have to challenge myself to come out of my comfort zone at times. Twitter is a great way for me to do just that. I get to meet people, but I'm comfortable because I'm in my home office doing it. My second reason is to share my cooking blog! I love to share my recipes and also pick up new ones.

How are you using Twitter?
I probably started answering this in the previous question! haa haaa But my long-term goal is hopefully to turn my blog into a full-time career and I use Twitter to update my followers on new posts, new books I'm writing to build readership. I use other social networking sites for this purpose too, but Twitter is my favorite. I also like to keep up with the latest technology and how I can improve my website, so not everyone I follow is a foodie. Some followers I have we just talk about how our day is going which is so nice cause it makes me not feel alone.

I know some people may not know how to get anything out of Twitter, and I admit I wasn't sure either when I first joined. But, I stuck with it and for the first month, I watched and read the conversations other people were having. If I saw a topic that I knew something about, I would interject by sharing how that experience affected me and soon I got replies back. After that, I would make a point of saying hello to those same people who I had conversated with and from that I had a little community! We began to share how-to's with each other ranging from how to find people to follow on Twitter to web design problems. A lot of my friends on Twitter inspire me to keep blogging and I find I can't go a day without twittering!! ;) I know that if I had quit Twitter too soon, I would have missed out on a lot of great information and precious friendships.

What is a Twitter SiteWarming party? Amy from ResourcefulMommy.com tells us how she came up with the idea for SiteWarming Twitter Parties and how she uses Twitter to run them.

Where did you come up with the idea for SiteWarming Parties?

When I finally had my own blog set up the way I wanted and ready for an event to promote it, it was already two and a half months old. I didn’t think that a blog launch made much sense at that point, so I called it a SiteWarming party instead. I was amazed at how quickly potential panelists and product vendors became interested in the idea, and that very first party trended at #1 all night on Twitter!

Do you have a website or blog for SiteWarming Parties?

I’ve been writing about the parties – the site info, panelist info, contest info – on my blog, ResourcefulMommy.com, but I just created a new site, SiteWarmingParties.com to focus just on the parties themselves.

How can a business sign up to have a SiteWarming Party?

Where do you find your clients?

So far the clients have come to me after attending parties I have held for other sites. A lot of buzz is generated in the days before and after the party as well as during the parties, so it’s been exciting for other businesses to see the potential for their own sites!

Where do you find your experts?

I sometimes ask people directly to join the panel based on the topic of the party discussion, but I’ve also included folks from Twitter who would simply like the opportunity to participate and get the exposure connected to the parties. It’s really a win-win situation and an awful lot of fun. J

How many prizes are given away during a SiteWarming Party?

The first SiteWarming Party was a little bit over the top – I gave away over $2,000 in free stuff. Now I try to have between 10 and 15 prizes to give away at each party, including the door prizes. Winners must enter to win the Goody Bag prizes, but anyone following the hashtag of the night can win the door prizes. I’ve even begun saving one or two until the “after party” for those West Coasters who are busy with dinner and bedtime rituals during the main party.

Why joined Twitter: I swore that I never would! But I kept hearing about the benefits and decided to give it a try. To coin a phrase, the benefits have been endless for me. It gave me an instant audience when I started my blog, it proved invaluable with research and surveys, increased my book sales, increased my appearance and guest blogging opportunities and I love logging on an answering questions from other people whenever I can. Twitter also brings me over half of my website hits every month.

How I am using it: I use it to post updates on my business, announce new clients/marketing plans, send people to blog posts, highlight trends and be opinionated on both business and personal issues. I also use it to ask questions of other people and to learn.
