Bragging rights are on the line as REEF faces off against Lost, Analog, and defending champions, Biillabong, for the prestigious 2009 Transworld Surf "CALI RALLY" Consisting of 10 days of surfing and shenanigans up and down the West Coast from San Diego to Santa Cruz, the event will kick of July 6th -15th. REEF'S Global Athlete Manager, Heath "Nutty" Walker has had his work cut out for him to hand pick his elite4-man team, but without further ado, here is the line-up.
Heading the Rally will be REEF's Global Athlete Coordinator Amy "All In" Delee as team manager. Delee states, "We have a tough job ahead of us as the competition is crazy with the other teams. If you see the caliber on the REEF team I am super confident we can win quite convincingly. Actually, we will smoke 'em(haha)."
Oceanside's Chris "El Capitan" Abad will lead the 4-man team alongside Australia's Paul "Keep Ya Pants On" Fisher, Hawaii's Sean "Give Me a Bud" Moody and Ventura's Nick "Not All There Yet" Rozsa.
To document the mayhem, REEF staff photographer Chris "Little Hippo" Straley will be behind the lens while Brett "Crazy" Carraso will catch it all on film.

Skateboarding powerhouse Control and Hip Hop Legends ONYX have come together to create an exclusive ONYX skateboard which will be available this summer. "Our music conveys the energy and emotion of skateboarding, so this is a natural fit", says Sticky Fingaz. The board will proudly display one of the most prominent logos in Hip Hop history, the Onyx Madface. Fredro Starr notes "We're excited for this skateboard to come out...this is going to be the Mad Skates movement!" Control Skateboards has been a high-end skateboard manufacturer since 1995 and has been featured in the very popular videogame Skate 2 by Electronic Arts. “We are honoured to be associated with ONYX one of the most influential Hip-Hop groups to grab a mic” says Dan Saindon sales manager at Control Skateboards.

The board is to coincide with the release of the movie Sticky wrote, directed and stars called "A Day In The Life" which will be released July 7th by his production company, Major Independents, and Lionsgate Films. It's the first movie to be told entirely in rap and stars Omar Epps, Mekhi Phifer, Fredro Starr, Ray J, Michael Rapaport, Bokeem Woodbine, Faizon Love, Malinda Williams and host of others. The soundtrack is out exclusively on iTunes July 7 and physically August 18th from Tommy Boy Records featuring music from the film and four all new songs from Sticky and Onyx. Look out for Onyx's "The Black Rock" tour of the US and Canada starting July 9th. Their album, also entitled "The Black Rock", will be in stores this October followed by a performance on this year's VH1 Hip Hop Honors show.

This years Harmopny Festival kickoff mounted what may have been the most unlikely, bipolar spectacle in its electric 31-year history, mixing the peaceful trances of hippies and the debut of the mini-MegaRamps's first-ever skateboard competion and Rail Jam.
This years riders included an all-star line-up: Bob Burnquist, PLG, Buster Halterman, Lincoln Ueda, Rob Lorifice, Andy Macdonald, Adam Taylor, and Omar Hasan.

The contest was judged by legends Lance Mountain, Steve Cabellero, Neal Hendrix, and welcomed the streetside input from the Lizard King, hosted by the always animated Dave Duncan.

X Games Street, Superpark, and MegaRamp

California RampWorks is working with California Skateparks and Nate Wessel to create the most realistic street settings utilizing their vast experience in the world of concrete, wood, and steel construction techniques. This years superpark will boast concrete trannys and bowls with hybrid wood elements throughout. The street course also contains concrete sections to give the athletes a solid set-up to work with.

The MegaRamp will also be adding a Rail Jam Contest to add to the excitement.
