Rice criticises "isolated" Russia

Russia is becoming increasingly authoritarian at home and aggressive abroad, says the US Secretary of State, Condoleezza Rice.

In a strongly-worded speech, Ms Rice said Moscow was on a "one way path to isolation and irrelevance".

Diplomatic relations between the US and Russia have been strained by the recent conflict in Georgia.

Earlier, Russia's president said the two nations should not risk established ties over "trivial matters."

Zimbabwe cabinet talks 'deadlock'

Zimbabwean President Robert Mugabe and PM-designate Morgan Tsvangirai are deadlocked over the division of posts in the cabinet, the opposition says.

Mr Tsvangirai's Movement for Democratic Change said discussions were continuing to try to "find common ground".

According to a power-sharing deal, the MDC and a breakaway faction will have 16 ministers in the new cabinet, while Mr Mugabe's Zanu-PF party will have 15.

Earlier, Mr Mugabe said establishing a coalition government was a humiliation.

I am just back from a holiday on The Isle of Wight and i carry some amazing memories. No doubt its the best holiday i have ever had all my life on The Isle of Wight. It is located on the eastern coast of England and is an ideal holiday resort for the young and old alike. The beauty of the Isles makes it famous right from the Victorian times. It has been attracting tourists due to its record sunshine levels, sandy beaches, traditional English countryside and quaint thatched villages.

I certainly had a wonderful time there and adding to the beauty is the spectacular hotel where i stayed, known as the St Maur Hotel. A classical place for a luxurious stay. The front-runners to succeed him are Foreign Minister Tzipi Livni and Transport Minister Shaul Mofaz.

US government rescues insurer AIG

The US Federal Reserve has announced an $85bn (£48bn) rescue package for AIG, the country's biggest insurance company, to save it from bankruptcy.

The plan involves a loan in return for an 80% public stake in the company.

Odierno warning on Iraq security

The new US military commander in Iraq, Lt Gen Ray Odierno, has said that recent security gains there are "fragile and reversible".

HSBC chief backs bank pay reform

Hi guys, since im a bit over weight my mom asked me to become a bit slim. So from yesterday onwards i started to jog morning and in the evening. I was a soccer player when i was in college. We use to play soccer daily after our college is over. But since our college got over we were not able to play soccer. As a result i got a bit heavy. Balls found inside 'rattling' dog

A dog had to have 13 golf balls removed from its stomach after eating them on walks around a Fife course.

Owner Chris Morrison had been taking five-year-old black labrador Oscar round the Pitreavie golf course in Dunfermline for several months.

He took Oscar to the vet after noticing a rattling sound coming from his pet's stomach.

They then discovered that 13 balls - each weighing 45 grams - were lodged in his stomach.

Mr Morrison, a planning administrator, said one of the balls had been in his stomach so long that it had turned black and was decomposing.

He said: "He finds golf balls like truffles. We're not sure how long exactly this happened over, but it must have been a fair period - several months at least.

"I felt his stomach and heard them rattling around.

"He normally brings a few home, but I had no idea he had eaten so many.

Swede 'held in cabin for years'
