the next spark is on hold till winter due to my involvement in planning the independents' day, urbanscrawl and agora v events.

Have you heard about Independents' Day? Check it out. September 20th on Gay and Pearl there is a huge event. Here's what is going down:

Street Market

Registration closes September 10
Are you an independent artist, crafter, business, or organization with something to sell or share? Sign up for our Street Market and set up shop in a 10' x 10' square for only $25. You'll have the best seat in the house for our outdoor performances and a chance to show all of Columbus what you do. Visit the Independents' Day website to learn more.

Music and Performance

We're inviting Columbus' most dedicated musicians and performers to take part in Independents' Day. Are you interested in performing? Email our performance coordinator to get the conversation started.

Interactive/Idea Convention

During the day, The Vault is transformed into a place where ideas are exhanged and collaborations are formed. Through presentations and conversations, Columbus' creative minds connect. To participate, visit the Independents' Day website.

Food and Drink

Calling all local restaurants, bakeries, and culinary experts! We want to showcase you at Independents' Day. Email us and we'll fill you in with the details.

Volunteers

Independents' Day is 100% volunteer run and organized. We'll need your help to accommodate the many exhibitors, performers, and attendees. Sign up as a Volunteer.

spark! for March is canceled. Sorry for the short notice. Due to two deaths in my immediate family I cannot be available to organize Saturday's show. I apologize for any inconvenience but I must be with my family at this time.

Consider Biking is looking to integrate the cycling world & the art world. I'm putting this Call for Entries out there now to give people time to create work around a bike theme. Thanks all! Hope this appeals!

last night's show was a huge success! Thanks to everyone that came out and hung work and those that came out to see it. each month's show is more inspiring than the last.

to participate: show up at junctionview with ready to hang work between 2 and 5pm. You can hang a few pieces, if they are big, please limit to one. there are no size limits. first come first serve. i provide labels. reception starts at 6pm.

what: spark:a hang it yourself art free for all. you pick the work you want to show (please keep it in at least semi-decent taste as this is an all ages event). please limit to one piece, unless the work is small. if we have space for more it will be hung, but i'd like to accommodate all interested parties.
when: November 24th. doors open @ 10 am for hanging on a first come first serve basis (if you don't want your work buried in a dark corner come early!) the show will start @6pm. pickup of work will be November 25th 1-5pm or by appt.
where: junctionview studios 889 williams ave grandview heights, oh 43212 www.junctionviewstudios.com
why: because columbus is the indie art capital of the world and we have to.
who: you and everyone you know.
