The Gin X Fly by (Navy) was used as background for the large picture and three of the small ones

The turquoise was put on the small ones.

Exchange Student stripe was the background of the page and a strip of Candles on Sam's Cake is the flap and the Bazzill Turquoise the back ground of the "page"

Cut three strips about the same size and the top strip has to be a bit larger so it will fit under the other strip in order to create a "page" or flap

Ribbon was glued to the turquoise strip under the small pictures and two small bows were glued in between them

The pictures were attached with eyelets.

On the top of the "page" or top flap, three small pictures were also added and attached with eyelets

The letters were sanded and inked and attached with glue.

In order to keep the layers down I attached two small tags with brads and a ribbon will be added to keep the page closed.

I used the Mom’s stripe for the background and the Mom’s Good Linen for picture backgrounds and the wavy top and bottom as well as back ground for the “Voyage” sign

The burgundy paper was used for the lettering as well as the stripe behind the larger picture.

All the edges were inked with the antiquing tool and inked with the green.

I created my own journaling on the computer and matching up the burgundy background to the one used in the picture. Then a button was added and a bow.

Small pieces of ribbon were added to the side of the larger picture.

A round tag was covered with the burgundy paper and three letter brads were added to say ”Bye”, a ribbon and a larger brad was added.

4 patterned sheets from the paper packs:

One with stripes

Green /red flowers with white dots

I cut three Patterned paper into three sections (Stripes, plum, green paisley) and glued them onto a piece of plain 12x12 scrapbook paper.

The Green/dots went behind the pictures

Then the two pictures were glued onto the page leaving an area in between them for a “belt”

Two strips of paper were cut, one thinner than the other and glued in that area.

I cut an oval shape and covered it with the green/dots and glued it on the belt.

A green ribbon was glued on top of the shape.

I traced the Forever in time letters, cut out new ones and glued the green and plum on the letters,: I distressed the edges of the letters using the antiquing tool.

The Tannenbaum was used as the background paper and the Wintergreen was used as the photo background as well as the circle and half circle.

The photo and circle edges were inked with the antiquing tool.

I used Paint Shop Pro for making the Merry Christmas title; Chock a Block was the font I used.

To make the ornaments I used pieces of Life’s Tapestry; cut 2 circles the same size and decorated them with pieces of paper. I inked the edges, and then glued the edges and sprinkled Diamond Dust on the ornaments.

Using the star punch I punched out a number of stars and glued them around the perimeter of the layout. ( I was going to ink the star edges but at the last moment I didn’t, it would have looked good though).

I glued the Rejoice and the little reindeer on as an after thought.

I used the bow hunter as the background and the Parakeet as the back ground of the pictures. I placed them the way I wanted and glued them. I traced the chipboard letters onto a piece of gree leather, then, I cut the letters out, inked the outline with green from the antiquing tool kit, and glued them on the page.

I attached the brads and photo anchors

I scanned a piece of the Parakeet and made round circles and printed 1st Deer hunt on the circles, inked them and glued them underneath the bottle cap

This was my grandson Matt when he was little and of course all grandmas think their little ones are adorable.

Items needed:

Red card stock

Blue Card stock both fom Scrapbooking Oasis (Grab Bags)

4 Photo anchors and brads from Making Memories

One 4 inch of red fiber cut in half

One red and one Blue Button

One large blue brad

Red Ribbon

Blue Ribbon

One ready made tag

One number

Blue Ink

Foam Stickers

Blue Card stock is the background and the red is used in behind the pictures. A strip of red was added about a fourth of the way down across the paper width. One of the pictures was cut out and red card stock was pasted in behind it for contrast and colour. Then I used foam stickies to raise it a little of the page to make it look three dimensional; for the #1 ribbon I used a ribbon spool to make the round shape and cut two pieces of red card stock to make the “ribbons”, inked the edges, and glued them together. I pasted the 1 and the Cute letters and added the # symbol in front of the 1.

The Tag

I used a ready made tag from Scrapbooking Oasis; ripped two red, and one blue piece of paper and glued them on the tag for a different texture effect and inked the ripped edges and the outside. Then I cut one blue and one red ribbon and glued them on the tag diagonally, added two ribbons in the hole, added two buttons using the fiber, and then the name Matt was glued on with foam stickies

Making the letters using Macromedia Fireworks

Open Fireworks

Go to New 8 inches by 6 inches Transparent

Before starting got to the tabs till you find Window and Select : tools, Properties, Optimize, Layers, Frames, and Styles. You have now got split windows on the sides and the bottom.

Go to the Tools on the left hand side and find the Vector tools: Shapes

Select the desired shape and draw it with the mouse.

Colour-fill the shape with desired colour

Select Edge Anti-alias

Texture of choice ( Say Line horizontal-4 at 23% )

Then go to the right hand side of the screen find Effects-Click on Bevel Boss-

the next screen will pop up and select your bevel

Width 5.77

Height 50

Smoothness 75

Click on inside marquee and click of shade interior

This looks like a button now.

Back at the first screen

Go to the text tool on the left hand side and select it

The at the bottom of the screen select the font desired (I used Baskerville Old Face 63 colour black)

Type in one letter in the shape, center it and size it.

The go back to the bottom right hand side and select effects again and select Shadow and Glow from the drop down task bar and decide what colour of shadow wanted (I used white since I used dark colours in my shapes)

The Select the square and the letter (by holding down the shift button you can at the same time select both the shape and the letter on it) and go to the top of the screen and find Modify and scroll down till you find Group. Once your shape and letter are grouped you can move it around on the canvas.

The next shape is done the same way just using different colours, textures, and letters; making sure to buttonize the shape by using

Eye Candy and the Shadow and Glow for the letters.

Once all your letters are made this way, you can lay them out anyway wanted and by holding down the shift you can select all the letters and group them to make one image. At this point you can move the word all over on the page, make it bigger or smaller.

This is not as hard as it seems, actually it is quite simple once you have done it a few times; sometimes I use Paint shop Pro.

This is a very simple design: This is my grand daughter when she was little, she loved to dress up and still does.

I used Victorian Collection Coral Reef from Two by Two Designs LLC one of the fiber pages as the background; then I used a green from the paper package and placed the picture on it diagonally, and anchored them with a couple of photo anchors from Making Memories. Then I used Forever In Time Chipboard Letters.

Supplies Used

I used Imagination Project Gin X-Navy Pilot as background for the large picture.

Basic Grey-Skate Shoppe Element was used as matting for the pictures.

Making Memories Pewter attachments were used the brads and the paper holders

Olive Green Ribbon

Twinklets Diamond Dust was used on the lettering (they sparkle in the light)

I made the focal interest picture as large as I wanted and made three smaller pictures and matted each one with the navy blue.

I cut a strip of the patterned paper (Skate Shop Element) and glued it on the page and cut another larger piece to fit in the bottom right hand of the paper. I glued the large picture over the strips and attached brads and paper holders for the large picture then I added a plain navy blue strip under the smaller pictures. The letters again I agonized over. I had purchased some Forever in Time Chipboard letters but I could not find one that suited the layout, so I traced and cut out letters using the Skate Shoppe paper, sanded the letters and inked them with blue and then attached them onto the page using foam stickies.

A line of glue was added onto the letters and a sprinkling of Diamond dust followed.

After the letters were dry I attached a piece green ribbon (it matched the green in the bottom pictures) with some more foam stickies to the bottom of the O.

I reside in small town in Northern Ontario where I work in a library.(for 29 years) All my life I have been involved in one craft or another, from crocheting, macramé, salt dough, tea bag folding, stained glass you name it, I have at least, tried it. At the Library we have crafts for the children in our community and I also coordinate and present it. There is no surprise that I love scrapbooking. I bought a book with papers and I left them lying around for over a year; I knew if I got into this I would LOVE it. And I DO.

I was searching for CANADIAN scrapbooking sites and I found” Canadian Scrapbooking Oasis.” Wow! A Canadian site with reasonable prices and they ship. Great!

They are looking for designers and I submitted a few of the pages I had created and so here am. I

I used the Three bugs in a Rug paper as background and the Scribble Scrabble paper as a background for the photos. I cut five circles and one rectangular shape using the green paper. I cut out five photos the rectangular one is the biggest. The photos were glued to the green shapes. They were then arranged in a half circle around the rectangular one sightly overlapping.

The lettering was made using a 7 inch wide by 1 inch length, folded in half and glued together for strength. The Alphabet buttons were strung on the green twine and looped around the bar and fastened with brads on either side. I used some foam adhesive to keep them in place. The bar also received three glue dots to keep them in place, (the twine seemed to pull down the center.)

On the left bottom I attached a three toned flower with a yellow brad in the center. Then I cut some labels and added some journaling on the strips. The right hand side received a green tag with a yellow brad and some journaling was added. The tag also received some ornamental corners for accent, using a corner shaper.

Fiber: Eyelash Fiber (Clematis), Slubbed Fiber (Festival of Colour), Pink & Black twist fiber,
Rivets: andonized pink rivets, andonized purple rivets, purple rivets, pink rivet.
I tore a strip out of one of the enchanted evening, chalked one edge with purple and pink glimmer chalk and placed a section of the purple reef behind it.
I used my quickutz Katie alpha for Princess Grace from the petunia and glued light pink glitter to the letters. I used Quickutz mini eliza for "What does a"PRINCESS wear? out of the bazzill, coloured all words but Princess with dark blue marker and put glitter behind princess. I used 3 sets of stars out of petunia and glued pink glitter on them as with 2 magic wands, 2 tiaras, 2 sets of shoes, the nameplate and number 2. I also punched 8 photo corners (4 were chalked blue on the white side),
