Weather report says T-storms likely-- that could change much-- pay attention to track bias as the night goes on (and use Master Wheels if it is sloppy in the first)

Race 1: 2 This Sands Hot- Impressive win in last, may even see the pylons tonight; 1 Master Wheels- Draws well and Dirty will work out a trip; 4 Bologna Lips- Gets Aaron, could surprise.

Race 2: 6 Dontgetintheway- Assigned outside should be no problem; 2 Category Six- 3rd local start and draws well; 1 Take Five- Credible from outside last week in 1st start for connections.

Race 3: 2 Painted Speed- Yeah, the fractions were wild, but might he bounce, has shown inconsistency? 3 Up Front Carl- No chance in last, racing style fits well here; 1 Whatanartist- Looks like his old self at times, at others, well…Was better in last, though.

Race 4: 3 Launch Angle- Was way up in class in last, anything near the 6/22 line and he rolls; 4 Lakeside Al N- Third start back and is the class; ready? Aaron chose; 1 Go Bogart- Rail is key to his success; 9 Expensive Western- Had been 3rd or 4th for a bunch straight before last week.

Race 5: 4 Super Max N- Needs to finish stronger, but may break through; 1 Artistic Dreamer- Gets Stahl & a great draw, don’t ignore; 6 Key Western- Class dropper has been flat since claim.

Race 6: 1 Mighty Looker- Moves up but wins with a flat mile; 7 Peggy Spur- Rapidly improving mare, post hurts; R Cowboy- Classy old guy fits with these, especially when Aaron drives.

Race 7: 5 Polo Joe- Flash is doing a nice job with this one; 2 Elm Grove Gerson- Always does work and is the main competition; 7 Fox Valley Flyby- Improving since Sherman took over, can he overcome this draw? 1 Slade Gram- A Schillaci trainee from the rail is always a factor.

Race 8: 5 Detective- Has leveled, but is a quality youngster; 2 Son Of A Spur- Road trouble in last but still raced credibly; 9 Danny-o- Beat similar six weeks back at Saratoga.

Race 9: 9 Prepare To Attack- Drops to the bottom and gets Aaron, 2nd tier a concern; 5 Back Home Again- Class relief and they opened it up for her, too; 6 Sure Shot Cheryl- The other beneficiary of Bianconi’s wish for nine here.

Race 10: 3 Keystone Swinger- Faces lesser off a decent effort; 2 Fancy Schmansy- Showed signs of putting it together two weeks back, but 1 for 17? 9 Robin Dontget- Inconsistent but has done work for Stahl; 4 Eza Rich King- Responded to Aaron five, six starts back.

Race 11: 4 Fantastic Fran- Moves up but is sharp, Harris on the chooch; 2 No Risk- Huge trip to win his last at this class; 5 Nuclear Cam- Aaron’s choice over mine, but had no excuse in last.

Race 12: 3 Stand N Shout- It appears this is a level at which he can compete; 4 Harmony Oaks Tom- Consistent and I like him, but winless in ’09; 2 Allamerican Magic- Usually does work and now draws where it might matter.

Race 13: 9 Liftoff Bayama- Drops below the level where he is proven, should win; 5 Rick’s On Belief- Has back class, but current form is poor; 6 Mr Kite- Hangs around and usually does work.

Race 14: Dee Town- Tough trip as a beaten fave, another chance; 2 Itza Goozi Girl- Wyatt’s choice over the five; 6 La Suvera- A contender, but doesn’t win enough to be on top here; 5 Anything But Plain- Bumped her down when Wyatt chose off, thought she could win.

I am refreshed and relaxed after a few days off for the holiday and I feel like I actually have some valid angles (as opposed to the angels I often post for my friend Al Pollack) for Friday. Will be in the winners circle doing the picks, so stop by and say hello. Good luck.

Race 1: 6 Tori’s Angel- Has always been streaky and the time off has done her a world of good; 3 Connie Corleone- Can rebound from a couple flat efforts; 7 M D Superstar- Was beating these not long ago and now gets straps.

Race 2: 4 Super Sadie- Sugg’s choice over 3/6/9 and not much to beat; 3 Exotic Cardshark- 1st time good post and 1st time Charlino; 1 Village Corky- Gets the wood which makes her a factor.

Race 3: 3 Paint Wheel- Post killed her in last and Charlino chooses over 2/4/7; 1 Redmeansgo- Gets Sugg and rail, may wake up; 5 Karrydale Charm- Fresh set of hands and has back class.

Race 4: 9 Surf Song- Moves back up for a catch driver off a life mark; 2 Kimmy Cruiser- A very nice filly who always does work, will be odds-on; 1 Game Sophie- Needs an aggressive drive and will get it from Josh; 3 Dappers Flash- Has done work here and there.

Race 5: 1 Electric Highlight- One more chance in this mixed group; 4 Gram Of Gold- Competes but just doesn’t win; 2 Sara’s Lil Sis- Moves up in very good form.

Race 6: 7 Up Front Lady Gray- Has really turned it since coming home; 1 Rock-n-patty- Gets the rail and Dan C back, a player; 6 Spirit Within- Does work and fits well with this group.

Race 7: 1 Dvc Dixie Cocktail- I picked the 7 initially, but Charlino didn’t. He was also listed on 2 & 6; 7 Tequila- Post a concern but always contends in this class; 5 Vienna Jewel- Seems to like these surroundings; 9 Blueridge Flirting- Post has hampered and may need a local start.

Race 8: 1 Cee Cee Comer- Goes for 3 in a row off a lifetime best; 2 Star-why- Has leveled, but fits with inside draw and fresh hands; 9 Excellent Caviar- Gets a great trip behind Cee Cee.

Race 9: 1 Fun Lady- Class relief to the bottom, a rail and Josh; 2 Lady from Above- Best draw in a 3 months helps a lot; 5 Miss Matilda- Class dropper gets Charlino but has shown little lately.

Race 10: 7 Asian Paradise N- May need a start, but is the class of these; 2 Vale Breeze- Draws well for a change; 4 Doowrah’s Stand- Will battle the one for the front, how long can she hold on? 1 Silly N Sassy- Kash the elder will have this one challenging early from the rail.

Race 11: 2 Krissy K- Not exactly out on a limb, tonight’s best bet; 3 Ilooklikevada- Draw has been unkind the last few starts; 1 Packet Fulla Stars- Rail and tactical speed make her a player.

Race 12: 3 April Fool Days- Knocking on the door, but is 0-18 in ‘09; 7 Miss Peabody’s Hat- Has back class, but not 100% convinced off last; 4 Slick-as-sleet- Can’t ignore off three place efforts in last four starts.

Race 13: 1 Diana Court- Lukewarm call here; 2 Halvah Heaven- I need to find this place, the horse not so much; 4 No Ordinary Smile- Does work but rarely sustains it.

Race 14: 7 Doowrah Silver- Softest field she has seen in awhile; 6 Quenelle Hanover- Consistent sort but needs to step up; 2 Goldies Girl- Post is key; 8 On The Money- In the money from the snowman?

Friday Freshman Fillies

It's the one of the best nights of the year-- when the babies make their Ohio Sires Stakes debuts. I will be on a family get-together in the Hoosier state and will miss it, but there may be some opportunities. A pair that have been really impressive are Shez Good Osborne, a sister to three of Jerry Osborne's previous Sires champs, Osbornes Trick, Osbornes Gypsy and Osbornes Bullet. Meanwhile, three-year-old sis Osnorne's Yankee looks like a major player, too.
And how about Hawk's Cry Electra ripping off 55 and 56 seocnd back halves in her qualifiers? What's her bottom?

Race 1: 9 My Claudette- Young Rosy steered her to a lifetime mark in last & should get a good trip here; 1 Jarmoto- Has speed, but has not finished; 6 Oceana Hanover- Can contend for Kurt.

Race 2: 1 Jailhouse Run- Impressive Marion line gets this one home; 8 Medoland Jesse- Probably the best, but can she overcome the eight? 4 Rose Run Leah- Nice race at Circleville.

Race 3: 2 Sammy L- Has done nothing wrong in his career; 3 Lullaby Til Dawn- Like his willingness to pass late; 9 Rub Thing- Fast, but second tier is a question mark.

Race 4: 6 Hot Hip Happening- Matt’s choice over 4/7 and a bit better post; 1 Shelbys Muneymaker- On the chooch from the rail; 2 Gram Of Gold- Pretty consistent in this class; 7 Paint Wheel- Hot barn and a fresh set of hands in Noble the Younger.

Race 5: 7 Gadjet- Reunited with Kakaley and should win; 8 Sugar Scoot Brown- She did it from here two back, player; 6 Shell I Attack- Loves this track, but form not as sharp as top two.

Race 6: 3 Wildfire Osborne- Stahl chooses off a Sherman-trainee to drive, it’s enough for me; 9 Jellyfish Joy- Does good work & is also very fast; 2 Electric Highlight- Still figures w/Aaron.

Race 7: 1 Fantastic Fran- Beat these last time and draws better; 4 Virtual Dream- Very consistent and fits well’ 6 Scooters Clan- Tough trips lately, but figures; 9 Vienna Jenna- Moves up off a first-time Lasix win.

Race 8: 8 Hawk’s Cry Electra- shows back 1/2s in 55, 56, can overcome the snowman here; 6 Man I’m Hot- Gets Matt K off a good Q; 1 Tailor’s Filly- The rail helps this one.

Race 9: 4 Jesse’s Messenger- If she can carry her speed, she jogs; 2 Miss Ohio Spur- Break wasn’t her fault, will be a value; 7 Midnight Foray- Post a problem for Chip and this Chip Chip.

Race 10: 4 Jb’s Cutie- Gets class relief off an improved effort; 2 Sweetie Peetie- Shows two good lines at this level; 9 Quenelle Hanover- Consistent bottom of the ticket type this year; 5 Prettylittleangel- Inconsistent but can be on the ticket with the right trip and effort.

Race 11: 5 Shez Good Osborne- Sister two three Sires champs debuts here; 2 Caribean Cruise- Impressive mile at announcer Ayers’ hometown fair; 9 Longlegacy- Closed well from outside in first start, second tier makes things interesting.

Race 12: 2 Krissy K- Draws well which will make all the difference; 9 Marcie- Talented and improving; 4 Carry The Light- Dominated lesser last time here and then faced better.

Race 13: 2 Friendly Kathy- Shows good work in this class at bottom of form; 3 Miss Peabody’s Hat- Back class, yeah, but current form is awful; 6 Lady From Above- Needs to step up.

Race 14: 4 Up Front Lady Gray- Big mile in last and has license to step up in just 6th lifetime start; 3 Stampede Jenny- A different horse since getting Lasix; 1 Bigaffairintown- Third back and an improved post draw; 6 Kimmy Cruiser- Nice three-year0olkd and Stahl chose over 1/5.

A tough night for yours truly Saturday-- the ones I picked and bet lost, while the ones I picked and didn't bet won. And congrats to Matt Kakaley on getting win #1,000, even if it was at a different track.
By the way- I am on vacation during the holiday weekend. I will have picks this Friday, but then pciks go on hiatus until the followign Friday.

Race 2: 7 Rita’s Work Of Art- Big close off legit fractions last time, may surprise; 4 Cracker Chris- Was a bit better 1st time Lasix in last; 3 I Be Strollin- Matt’s choice over the 5-2 rail horse.

Race 3: 9 Praying For A Win- Has won, has faced better and this field is a stellar 2 for 85 in ’09; 4 Jim- Barn change, but no driver change; 1 I Will Come Over- Drops, gets rail, rarely wins.

Race 4: 2 Stand Tall Mcgraw- I’ve always liked this horse and last line is deceptive; 9 Varitek- Usually does work, may sustain this time; 5 Kcc Thunder- Has been a bit better with Lasix; 4 No Parole A- Four straight checks means he can finish the super ticket.

Race 5: 2 Amati- Only one with a win on recent form and draws well; 9 Engine Hanover- Gets Matt and class relief, will be the fave, but is 0-19 in’09; 1 Go For It- Best draw in ages, a player.

Race 6: 4 Victoryatlass- 3rd back and a catch-driver for Steck’s charge; 7 Halls Of Montezuma- Should be better tonight; Sj’s War Pony- Always close, rarely wins, must use, but not on top.

Race 7: 1 Blue My Mind- Racing better with Lasix and gets the rail, that’s enough to beat these; 9 Robin Dontget- Pitch the last two and she might fit here; 6 Fancy Schmansy- Has been a disappointment, but can contend at this level; 7 N C Sam- Best of the rest.

Race 8: 3 Environmental- Needs the front and should get it here; 5 Seaworthy- Classy old guy gets Matt K, could this be #1,000? 1 Dees Bomber- Moves back up, but gets the rail for Dan K.

Race 9: 3 Maebee- Big improvement since getting Lasix; 9 Yankee Squire- Has shown he fits this class; 1 Mor Of That- Has seemed a bit short, maybe has his legs under him after four starts.

Race 10: 3 Happytime- Needs to pace the mile, but should win if flat; 6 Rich man Poor Man- Always competes at this level; 7 Romance’s Thunder- Returning to form after layoff; 5 Laredos Goose- Has improved each start since losing Lasix.

Race 11: 5 Salute To Victory- Kakaley chose off but I like this Semper Fi filly; 9 Parris Island- Inconsistent, but can contend; 7 Royal Cat- Was solid this winter may need a start or two.

Race 12: 6 Forever Ivy- Very talented filly gets a softish spot; 2 Double Dribble- Well-bred and improving; 9 Constantinoble- Has ability, needs a better trip (and to mind manners from 2nd tier).

Race 13: 3 Up Front Carl- I don’t want to hear the every-other start theory, he seems the best; 4 Expensive Western- Two 3rds and a 4th against similar; 2 Real Sexy- Best draw in six weeks.

Race 14: 9 Make Me Proudchico- Back at the level of the winning streak; 2 Allamerican Viper- Faces softer and draws well; 3 Artic Blast- Threes at ScD are about the same as here and he competed there; 5 Take Down Hall- One last chance, cost himself last time and may need a rest.

Battle of Lake Erie Picks

A lot of value, but maybe not in the Sires Stakes. Remember- the first Sires leg was seven weeks ago! A lot can (and has) happened since then. Many first-leg winners have seen their form go south, while others who were not 100% ready, have improved. Don't rely too heavily onthe first leg results-- I have in the past, and it has cost me dearly.

The tux is back from the cleaners and I will be handicapping from the winners circle Saturday, with Dave B taking over for the last few races so I can get the results release out. Stop by and say hi, and maybe we can have a smoke together!

Race 1:.6 My Mom’s Career- Has been solid and gets the nod in our Sires opener; 1 Colby D-Improving for Dailey and gets the rail; 7 Chewey- Post an issue, but is a capable closer.

Race 2: 4 Aloha Hooray- Keeps improving & can move any time; 1 Midnight Legacy- Steps up for Tony Hall, but is a factor from PP#1; 2 Mom’s Looker- Her driver is also nearing 1,000 wins.

Race 3: 3 Haven’s Buddy- Moves to Kent Sherman and gets Ryan Stahl; 4 New Riegel Star- Can contend, but is winless in ’09; 1 Samsawinner- Fast off the wings and gets the good draw.

Race 4: 3 Fox Valley Flyby- Class drop and gets a full-time trainer; 2 I’ve Got Life- Raced in the Battle in ’02 for you hunch players; 1 Super Max N- Moves up off the claim; 5 Capricous Art- Hot trainer, hot driver, improving animal.

Race 5: 1 Chips And Wings- Ultra consistent and draws well; 6 B Contemporary- May be a step quicker than my top pick, but post hurts; 7 Detective- In great form, but draws poorly.

Race 6: 9 Take Five- Impressive in last against these; 6 Elm Grove Gerson- Hall’s pick over 2/4/9; 5 Nuclear Cam- Needs an aggressive drive from the younger Noble.

Race 7: 5 Up Front Guy- Tony Hall in the bike pushes him over the top; 4 Earnhardt Hanover- Suspect choice, imo; 9 Zakman- Can contend here; 7 Mr Orchard Street- Post a problem.

Race 8: 8 Handsome Jack- Lightning fast and can overcome the snowman; 3 Stonebridge Romeo- Always solid for Matt K; 5 The Mame Event- Has faced better, but needs to trot the mile.

Race 9: 5 Worthy’s Magic-What’s not to like? 3 Sadies Legacy- Has roughed it and needs a better trip here; 2 Awesome Abe- Improving rapidly and gets Tony Hall.

Race 10:.6 Dance With Dan- Lots of speed inside him, but he should prevail; 9 Osborne’s Yankee- Classic Buckeye breeding, what’s his bottom? 4 J Cruise- Getting his legs underneath him; 1 Crime Scene Cruzer- Ultra consistent, must use in exotics from here.

Race 11: George Verban Memorial- 6 Gerald N Sam- Ultra fast & gets Matt K; 5 Stringtowner- Loves this racetrack; 2 Category Six- Good post draw makes him a contender on this ticket.

Race 12: $100,000 BATTLE OF LAKE ERIE- 4 Oliver Cleo- Charlino is red-hot and this one can grind out a win while the speedsters battle each other; 2 Jeremy’s Successor- Beat the fave two back; Foiled Again- I have a hunch Matt is leaving with this one; 3 Blueridge Western- Has won here before, a major player.

Race 13.6 Special D-Stays undefeated tonight; 5 Mystique Cruiser-Has been competitive in Canada, eh? 8 Cruzin Bayou- Can he overcome post 8? 4 Medoland Mac- Gets Aaron.

Race 14: 5 Tropicante- Tons of speed and he can grind it out; 2 Baba S- Robin chooses off, Clair is stuck with Kakaley; 7 Kyle Doodles- Point him down the road, but can he last?

Race 15: 9 Linns Dream- Consistent sort fits here; 1 Mr Kite- Will be solid form the rail; 7 Polo Joe- Another chance after a bad break; 6 Goatcoat George Tm- Just for the name, lol.

Battle of Lake Erie Eve and a Friday P5 C/O

I am a lot more focused on Battle Night Saturday, but some playable value and overbet faves to avoid. A bit of a Pick 5 Carryover, too, so let's try this:

125/23/29/45/146= $72 play. If you have to single a horse, go to Electric Highlight in the 5th race-- Towner's Big Sadie has to be used, but she is so inconsistent. The Sherman-trainee will give you your money's worth.

Race 1: 6 Cee Cee Comer- Rolled to new life mark with Aaron in last; 9 Star-why- Matt K’s choice over Sam’s Charmer, the ML choice; 3 Fiesty Kind Of Luv- Another chance off poor last.

Race 2: 9 Vale Breeze- Good effort in last, similar wins; 2 My Yankee Lady- Only three and can improve at any time; 6 Brite Time Sue- Shows two solid line at this level and fits, but rarely wins.

Race 3: 1 Rock-n-patty- Different horse from the rail, and a value with Wyers; 5 Kimmy Cruiser- Is going to be a nice one; 2 Up Front Lady Gray- Big effort in her local debut.

Race 4: 3 Sara’s Lil Sis- Took pressure early, provided it late in last; 2 Paint Wheel- Draws well and gets Aaron for a hot barn; 5 Karrydale Charm- 3rd back and some back class, 10-1 ML?; 8 Hot Hip Happening- Matt chose this one over the 2 and the 4, but I don’t see it from out here.

Race 5: 2 Electric Highlight- A tougher spot than it appears, but she draws well and always gives effort; 9 Towner’s Big Sadie- Beat these last time, but is awfully inconsistent; 4 Passing Lane Penny- More effective from inside and has some back class.

Race 6: 4 Tequila- Back at a competitive post level; should start a new streak; 6 Fleur De Le- Back into a positive form cycle; 5 Fantastic Fran- Moves up off a big mile, but Matt chose off.

Race 7: 4 Re Hott Alert- 3rd back but needs to finish better, longshot special; 6 Sophia- Just one for 21 in ’09, but is a factor with Aaron; 1 Sadie Falcon- Gets the rail and with her gate speed, that makes her a factor; 5 Precious Lass- First time Kakaley.

Race 8: 2 Surf Song- Another 3rd back angle, but she has never lived up to expectations; 5 Desert Bunny- Raced well in her return, but may bounce; 1 Diana Court- Has speed, gets rail.

Race 9: 1 Kipling Avenue- Rail and Kakaley make her the best of a weak group; 8 Tori’s Angel- Would be a player if not for the snowman post; 2 Sweet Sweep- Can hang around.

Race 10: 1 Classy Sarah- Stepped up big-time for Wyatt in last; 7 No Ordinary Smile- Gets class relief and usually does work; 9 K’s Dream Boat- Still green and is really a victim of the trip, can’t yet make her own way; 3 April Fool Days- Has been improving of late.

Race 11: 1 Sunset Ball- Traffic woes in last, but recovered, Matt chose over 2/5/6; 2 Town Goal- Has ability, but tends to run, risky; 5 Cam’s Oak- Freshman could be anything. Watch.

Race 12: 4 Hurricane Kelsey- Can’t be believe Josh took off Roy- he is the hottest driver on the track; 6 Silky Sailor- Game contender always works hard; 9 Nude N Naughty- Best of the rest.

Race 13: 2 Vienna Jenna- Gets Kakaley in local debut, but she will be waaaayy overbet here; 3 Katies Valentine- Showed signs of waking up in last; 1 Slick-as-sleet- Can follow these & show.

Sorry these were poste late-- we got so busy this weekend dealing with the media due to Governor Strickland's slots decision, that I did not get these posted. Needless to say, we are excited and eager to see exactly what format this proposal tkaes-- will it be similar tot he Racing Commission proposal, or will it get changed. Who knows? But this will be good for our horsement as well as for the track and its employees. Good luck tonight.

Race 1: 2 Garma Zombeth- Gets Wyatt & a post, & maybe a bit of value; 9 Harmonizer- 2nd tier a concern, but seems to have ability; 5 Mary All Over- Faced better last year and may step up.

Race 2: 2 Environmental- Is very fast, but can be his won worst enemy; 9 Vicasso- Gets class relief but has shown little this year; 3 Over’s Swiss Lad- Did work in last and gets Matt K in this.

Race 3: 1 Special Yankee- Raced well in ’09 debut and should step forward; 7 Sam’s Flash- Has been solid at this level; 5 Weedly- Has faced better in NY, but will be overbet and is no lock.

Race 4: 9 Cracker Chris- Has done work at this level and now gets Lasix; 3 Ms Cruzin On Top- Hangs around and does work weekly, or is that weakly? 1 Truarc Deal- Big improvement last time from the rail, but still lost by 7 ¾; 7 Toy Diamond- Robin’s choice over 6 & 9, post a ?

Race 5: 5 Sj’s War Pony- Matt’s choice over the 4 has been good, but not great; 9 Cinderella’s Pete- Stalking sort fits well with these; 3 He’s Fulla Chip- Moves up and usually does work.

Race 6: 1 Son Of A Spur- May be a bit braver after two starts at the bottom; 9 Charming Comer- Another chance after the break last time; 5 Country Parson- Improving for Matt K.

Race 7: 1 Cimarron Strip- Speedster gets the rail; 7 Fly Me To Heaven- Still green and fits off her best; 9 Cam’s Honey- Another one who could step up at any time; 4 In Two Win – Has put in good efforts most of the time.

Race 10: 5 Launch Angle- Class relief off a win is enough for me; 1 Chisum- Gets a barn change off the win; 6 El Personal Pace- will be flying late; 3 Water Twice- First time Kakaley, but that’s because Stahl chose off.

Race 11: 1 Anastasia Willie- Has been solid this season and gets a great draw; 4 Eel- Traffic jam cost him any chance in last; 6 Brassie M- 3rd back and racing well.

Race 12: 1 Allamerican Raider- Ultra-consistent, but it’s been awhile since he won; 6 Covered Connection- Another chance off the break last time; 3 Mcgwire- Trip will be better tonight.

Race 13: 1 Cb Attack- Class relief and the rail, will be on the point; 4 Break The Bank- Another JD Wengerd – Andy Coblentz rehab project, could be anything; 2 Passionate Bunny- Good debut off a very long layoff.

Race 14: 1 Deal Me Three- Gets a tag for the first time and should be a winner; 9 Yankee Squire- Has done great work since a Delaware sale purchase; 5 Nl Nuclearmedicine- Most consistent of all these, but is 1 of 18; 2 Georgia’s Cruiser- Best of the rest, perhaps.

A tough card-- several races where I have no angels or confidence at all, but I guess you will have to tune in to my picks to see which races I had problems with. Good luck.

Race 1: 9 Andrea Pauline- 3rd start back and has been facing better; 7 Star-why- Matt’s choice over the two and three; 2 Kipling Avenue- Got my initial call until Matt chose off, still a factor.

Race 2: 5 Desert Bunny- Fresh horse angle, plus class relief. How will she be off Lasix? 3 Sex In The City- Good qualifier at Delaware, Walker an unknown factor; 2 Town Toots- Gets a post.

Race 3: 6 She’s So- Moves up to face lesser off the barn change; 5 Karrydale Charm- Big effort against lesser & can compete against better, she fits; 2 Winning Yankee- Matt chose over 3/4/7.

Race 4: 9 Weekie Wachie- Class relief, but the 2nd tier is a worry; 4 Bigaffairintown- Moves up off a huge effort, ignore at your peril; 8 Colossal Sahbra- Great horse, great form, horrible post; 2 Paint Wheel- A minor call even with Matt choosing off.

Race 5: 2 Jl’s Nite Music- Consistent and gets her best post in nearly two months; 9 Scoot To The Top- Another consistent one from the 2nd tier; 4 Gram Of Gold- A consistent theme here, but this one moves up in class.

Race 6: 6 Silky Sailor- Just keeps rolling along and Tequila gets the snowman here; 3 Fleur De Le- Decent draw, decent effort; 2 Hurricane Kelsey- Hunter will have her on the point in here.

Race 7: 3 Spirit Within- Drops to level of last win in a lackluster group; 6 Honeymoon Hudson- Very solid, just not winning lately; 1 My Sweet Lorelei- Joyner will have her forward early.

Race 8: 5 Mary My King- Sugg’s choice over #3 was huge in last, value; 1 Fiesty Kindof Luv- Draws well and deserves favoritism; 3 Tag Dancer’s Filly- Drops to level of last win, a factor.

Race 9: 3 Jackie’s Gem- Monster class drop, but has shown only brief flashes; 9 Diana Court- Gets along with Charlino well; 2 Naughty Maude- 3rd back and a great draw for Stahl’s choice.

Race 10: 9 Crosswind Fly Bye- Gets Kakaley and may stay live longer; 3 Sophia- In decent form but not a likely winner; 2 Doowrah’s Stand- Just feel like she is sitting on a big effort; 6 Classy Sarah- Should be a bit sharper with Wyatt in the bike.

Race 11: 1 Marcie- Will get a perfect trip and has license to improve; 7 Ilooklikevada- Look for an aggressive leave from Koch; 3 M D Superstar- Gets Charlino back after a costly break.

Race 12: 5 Rinestone Coddie- Good effort with the move to conditions from claimers in last; 2 Divine’s Delight- Talented youngster is still learning and can contend; 3 Helene’s Escape- 1st time Kakaley gets her on the ticket.

Race 13: 6 Stampede Jenny- First time Lasix off the barn change, had no chance in last two; 1 Slick-as-sleet- Gets the rail and Snuffy should save ground; 5 Janica- Has made mild bids.

Race 14: 7 Shelbys Muneymaker- Post the only question here; 2 Fox Valley Oberon- Will be well-placed; 9 Virtual Dream- Has not been effective when she doesn’t draw well, a chance; 1 Stox Up Bluegrass- Hasn’t had a post since April.

Race 1: 3 Country Parson- Gets Kakaley off improvement last time; 1 Sweet Edith- The rail and class relief, check out the 5/1 line; 4 Tori’s Angel- Rounding into form and always streaky.

Race 2: 3 Silver Tinsel- Very impressive in 2009 debut, should roll; 2 Shady Camille- Better 1st time Matt in last, but a step slower than my choice; 6 Senorita Sykes- Deceptive debut, consider.

Race 3: 5 Chicago Sam- Big Ben calls on not so big Kurt, positive angle; 7 Cheatin On Charlie- Freshman can step up anytime, nice Q; 8 Carolyn’s Fortune- Positive driver change, bad post.

Race 4: 5 Town Goal- Matt chose off, but this one wins if he paces; 2 Double Dribble- Love the way Schillacis bring along their youngsters; 6 Buckshot Cheney- Drops out of late-closers and 2nd time Lasix; 4 Triple Diamond- Matt chose over 1/3/5/6 and we get a 3rd back angle.

Race 5: 6 Lady Railaway- Needs to mind her manners, but has ability; 3 So Fly- Almost always does work, but finds some tough trips; 2 Booyah Sheedaddy- Better with straps, benefitted from the fractions last time and may be overbet.

Race 6: 1 Varitek- The rail & Kakaley off a big effort at this level from snowman, jogs; 5 Dalcroft Toby- Inconsistent, but gets some class relief; 9 Stand Tall Mcgraw- Trainer Karcher drives.

Race 7: 5 Harmony Oaks Tom- Way overdue and fits with these; 3 Powerful Cam- All about post draw for him and gets a good one; 1 Cadillacconnection- Not in great form, but must consider with these from the rail; 9 Tricky Tactics- Can finish the super and never leave pylons.

Race 8: 2 Llc- Kurt is back in the bike on this speedster; 4 Yankee Summit- In appositive form cycle; 1 Dublin Dollars- Will be on the point, but I don’t think he hangs on with these.

Race 9: 2 Maebee- Much improved since going back on Lasix; 5 Urusla K- Moves up in solid form and can contend for Wyers; 7 Fly Me To Heaven- Has ability, post hurts.

Race 10: 2 Capricious Art- Kakaley chooses off a Millner-trainee for this one; 9 Dream Sunrise- Figures here, even without Matt; 8 Expensive Western- Miller’s choice over the rail and the #4 ?!? 4- Shannons Boy Scout- Huge effort in his last and should go forward.

Race 11: 7 Honorable Guy- Drops below level of last win and post not a factor for him; 6 Stonebridge Romeo- Matt was listed on 6 and 8 and he is off this race, mmmm? 1 Charming Comer- Has been consistent lately, but moves into uncharted territory (at least recently).

Race 12: 8 Max’s Cruiser- On paper he is way the best, but must overcome post eight; 9 Iconic Style- Traffic trouble at ScD last time, likes this track; Ideal Ticket- Decent Q, who knows?

Race 13: 3 Komodo Island- Wins if Kurt can rate him; 9 Turbo Connection- There’s a hidden move in the last line off the barn change; 5 Go for It- Best of the rest of a weak group.

Race 14: 9 Panda Café- Kakaley’s choice over 3/6/7/8, enough for me; 3 Rich Man Poor Man- Robin will have him moving at some point and class drop helps; 1 Validated Parking- Get the rail and a bit of class relief; 5 Allamerican Raider- Consistent “on the ticket” horse.

Race 3: 7 Sharp Action- Ultra-consistent and getting better; 9 Musical Dream- Improved with Lasix in last and could step up from 2nd tier; 1 Rompaway Zelda- Rail and a decent Q for Frank.

Race 2: 2 Krissy K- Moves back inside, while Tropicante gets the 8; 4 Sun Of A Victory- Very fast but the 29-day layoff leaves huge ???; 7 Baba S- Should get an aggressive trip from Page.

Race 3: 1 Nessa Rose- Raced big at Mohawk and draws well here; 8 Get Chipped-Won the 1st leg from post 7 at Leb; 4 Mocha Jo- Q-Q-X-Q-Q-Q not a poker hand, these lines are hard to pick.

Race 4: 7 Up Front Carl- Wins or breaks, there’s a hole, but man is he fast; 1 Take Five- From Open to $2500 claimer and back up here, I love Bluegrass Downs; 2 Osborne’s Bullet- 3rd back and post relief but has been suspect al year; 3 Scoot For Glory- Qually was pretty good.

Race 12: 6 Go Bogart- Did good work in a blistering mile (for this class) last start dropping; 2 Jd’s Houdini- Drops to the level of his last win; 3 Eza Rich King- Very consistent, rarely wins.

Race 13: 4 Bologna Lips- Raced better than line shows in last; 2 Quantum King Leo- Must use in exactas and tris; 6 One Final Time- Classy old guy returns off near three year layoff. Consider.

Race 9: 4 Parris Island- Flat effort in last, another chance with Matt K back up; 6 Eyes Of Texas- Another bad draw, but seems to have ability; 2 Our Peggy Sue- Needs a flat mile.

Race 10: 4 Fox Valley Galaxy- Wow. 3 Constantinoble- Rounding into form, but can’t go with top choice; 5 Dream Sunrise- Racing well and moves back up, a chance; 9 Dreamie Affair- Won this from the 9 on May 4, no chance last time from the 7.

Race 11: 2 Llc- Another life mark won’t surprise me; 4 Three Good Fellows- Inconsistent, but may be sitting on a big mile; 1 Scoremania- Nearly overcame Giss of Death last week.

Race 12: 4 Kyle Doodles- Easiest kind of winner in last, repeats; 9 Marcie- How good might she be? We find out here; 2 Look At That- Fits with these, not sure of him on a ½, but well-trained.

A tough card here-- I have not had this much trouble with a card in a long time. It seems like alot of races with either no solid angle horses or 6 good angle horses. That may mean value, but it also means you have to find the right ones.
In the Belmont, I am rooting for Mine That Bird and Bo-rail, but a hunch tells me to wheel him underneath inthe exacta. Will I act on it? Ask me at post time. Good luck- say hi inthe winners circle if you are here, and Flash, I hope you are happy.

Race 1: 5 Salute To Victory- Hamlet/McKirgan not a combo we see to often, but both know their stuff; 6 Musical Dream- A change of scenery; 1 Special Yankee- Decent qualifier and Aaron.

Race 2: 6 Blueridge Empress- Big effort on a bad track last time, the edge; 2 Miller’s Susan- Gets class relief but she’s not very sturdy; 3 Lobe’s Player- Will battle the five for control and tire.

Race 3: 2 Honorable Guy- Only had to race 3/8 of a mile to blow away a similar group; 4 Krissy K- Will be on the point, but can’t withstand the Guy’s pressure; 3 Baba S- Very consistent & fits.

Race 4: 4 Magic Dart- Did work with Tye in the bike in last and now gets Aaron; 2 Allamerican Raider- Very consistent and draws well; 3 Cadillacconnection-Horrendous trip cost any chance in last at this level, don’t discount; 1 Sultan Desbi- Has back class for Dan the Man Kennedy.

Race 5: 1 Max’s Cruiser- What’s his bottom? Has been solid; 3 Misty’s Dignity- As consistent as my picks, but wins off his best; 2 Howyadoinpal- Ships in and moves up, can contend.

Race 6: 1 Polo Joe- Flash wasn’t happy when I didn’t pick him last time, now he will blame me for the Giss of Death; 4 Rader Detector- Wyatt’s choice over #2 which says much; 2 Just Livin Life- Beat Max’s Cruiser last week, but faces tougher tonight and gets Sugg.

Race 7: 1 Linns Dream- If you weren’t convinced last week, you weren’t paying attention; 3 Zakman- Legit $8 off his best gets Charlino; 5 The Long Goodbye- Traffic problems n the stretch cost him a better result in last; 4 Professoralbright- Was hurt even more by “I” in lane.

Race 12: 1 Go Bogart- Drops to level of impressive 56.3 win & gets the rail, Aaron; 2 L Dees Dr Norman- Inconsistent, but also drops to class of his last win; 6 N C Sam- Impressive at bottom.

So my win rate is way up over the last few weeks, but my ROI isn't. Things have been pretty chalky over the Flying Turns of late and while I am a value player, you can't let the favorites keep running over your money. At times, you play the chalk and look to maximize (with exactas or Pick threes,, etcetera) and wait until you start seeing value.
And this is the time of year where that happens...lots of youngsters starting their seasons. Watch the maidens and NW2 races closely-- especially for horses making moves from the back where the line may not be that impressive.

Race 1: 5 Excellent Caviar- A flier on Snuffy, this trotter is fast and others have ?’s; 1 Mary My King- Consistent sort and draws the rail; 9 Rose Run Impetus- Usually does work, a chance.

Race 2: 3 Double Dribble- Will be overbet but was flying after road trouble in the slop; 7 I Be Strollin- Gets Stahl, but probably needs a start or two; 9 Hatsoff For Gracie- 1st time Kakaley.

Race 3: 9 Fox Valley Oberon- Good return off layoff, will be better tonight; 4 Cole Moment- Was a different horse first Lasix in last; 1 Tucson Lace- The kind of race and post where she figures.

Race 4: 3 Electric Highlight- Best draw in seven starts and she still has 3 wins; 4 Paint Wheel- Double or triple class jump but was huge in last; 9 Shelbys Muneymaker- Ultraconsistent and no Memphis Glow here; 6 Darting Larkin- Sophomore should continue to go forward, a real factor.

Race 5: 3 Dynastar- Double class drop will be the key here; 5 Kimmy Cruiser- Showed signs of waking up in last, she’s just three; 4 Rosie’s Sweetie- Has not sustained work against better, but a good fit with these.

Race 6: 1 Passing Lane Penny- Gets the rail after facing nothing but quality; 7 Weekie Wachie- Post will be an issue, a strategy change may be in order; 8 Jl’s Nite Music- Only one way this one goes off the gate to be effective, and that is forward, snowman’s a killer.

Race 7: 1 Holdzmfromfloopin- Class relief off a 9-length, 54.3 win? Are you kidding me! 9 Wildfire Osborne- Equipment cost her last time, follows the winner in the flow; 5 Colossal Sahbra- Very sharp, but faces good young ones; 2 First To Cruise- Another quality youngster.

Race 8: 4 Silky Sailor- Has one bad race in her last what, 100 or so? 3 Game Sophie- Aaron chose off for #4, that’s a key; 1 Virtual Dream- A virtual lock on the ticket with the rail.

Race 9: 6 Bette Lavec- Impressed in last; 5 Tori’s Angel- May race well off the freshening; or may not; 3 Wansering Dream- Always a hard one to figure for Elvis’s army buddy.

Race 10: 2 Stormy Gray Sea- Class relief and Kakaley, go cash; 4 April Fool Days- Does work most of the time, does not always sustain; 5 Mommas Gone Cruzin- Did not like the track last week; 1 Doowrah’s Stand- Can be a minor player from the rail.

Race 11: 7 Modern Mojo- Big mile off a layoff against a sharp one in last; 4 Ursula K- Finally getting it, perhaps; 1 Triple Diamond- Got in a needed start and will improve tonight.

Race 12: 4 Fox Avenue Mom- Made a believer of me last week; 7 Peggy Spur- Was rolling late for Charlino in last; 6 Ilooklikevada- Still racing well, just not as well, may easily win with best.

Race 13: 5 Fin For Eva Mo- I’m a George Mueller fan, but he’s no Ryan Stahl in the bike; 3 B B Big Girl- Gets along with Charlino and will fly late; 1 Winning Yankee- Should be named Showing Yankee tonight.

Race 14: 4 Tequila- Eat the worm and move on; best bet; 2 Rhiannon O Rhye- Consistent at this level and draws well; 5 Scooters Clan- Tough trip in last, when Matt chose her over the Agave drink; 1 Fleur De Le- Not in great form, but gets a small piece here from the rail.

No Aaron Merriman makes this a tough card. There will be some longshots, but I'll be darned if I can figure out which ones. Most of these horses got last week off for Memorial Day, when were dark. Will that hurt or help? Angles galore-- pick the right ones and lots of money to be made. Watch for last minute changes-- I will be. GOOD LUCK!

Race 1: 7 So Fly- Costly break in last, but Henry has highest UDRS of these drivers, a chance; 3 Stimulus Package- Good qualifier at ScD and a good draw; 6 J And S Hoover- Good work in last and from a good trotting barn.

Race 2: 3 Ms Cruzin On Top- Had 2 good Q’s against a bit better, decent from the 2nd tier in last; 1 Cracker Chris- Ships in, draws in and drops down; 7 Northern Shine- No chance last time.

Race 3: 1 Llc- Trip too tough in 1st start for Ben and Kurt; 4 Son Of A Spur- Big class dropper has shown signs of waking up; 9 Lumberjack Lavec- Also gets class relief and could surprise.

Race 4: 1 Western Eddie- These are the kind of races Karcher horses seem to win a lot; 6 Ohio Star- Stuck here for awhile, but doing work; 3 Swift Blade- Draws better, had late pace in last; 5 My Buddy Two- Class dropping newcomer could be anything, the for sale sign is likely out.

Race 5: 3 Scoremania- Is due and the fave has the 2nd tier; 9 Rose Run Freddie- Back class, but draw stinks (again); 1 Moneyman- claimer in a cheap condition. Where have I heard that?

Race 6: 7 Valid Moment- Has been knocking on the door, may be overbet; 5 Helenmotion- Couldn’t bring myself to pick Henry on top twice in one night; 1 Jet Packed Kitten- Aggressive trip in first back off the layoff is a positive sign.

Race 7: 4 Special Bay- In at a level where she can win, first time tag; 1 Trained To Trot- Another first time claimer gets the rail for Bullet Bob; 3 Cinderella’s Pete- A step slow on paper, but consider with Matt K.; 5 Come Along Fred- Can he be fourth six in a row at this level?

Race 8: 3 I’m Patrick- Finally a draw AND a driver; 2 Chisum- Inconsistent, but gets a soft field; 1 Nf Gallivant- The rail at this level is huge.

Race 9: 9 Sturdy Falcon- Stepped up big time for Schrack/Kakaley; 3 Charming Comer- Positive form cycle; 2 Mr Mime- Second decent draw in last seven, he won the last time.

Race 10: 4 Race Track Cruiser- Lukewarm call, he gets class relief but has shown little; 6 Yankee Squire- Monster effort for Aaron in last, gets the trainer here, though; 1 Mor Of That- Tactical speed in his second start back; 8 Nl Nuclearmedicine- On top pick with a better draw.

Race 11: 5 Shelly Ross- Getting better with every start; 7 Eyes Of Texas- Supposed to be a good one, raced like it last time; 2 Kyle Doodles- Consider off the Q, but Robin is no Palone.

Race 12: 5 Constantinoble- Was huge in his last and may be a value; 7 Dreamie Affair- Won from here against lesser, consider; 9 Fox Valley Galaxy- Looks like he needs the front and I don’t see him getting it here.

Race 13: 6 Fancy Schmansy- Back class and woke up with the drop last time; 9 Eagle Cluff Attack- Decent first back for a barn that does well here; 2 Laag Ness Monster- Gets Kakaley off a couple flat Toledo efforts; 5 Real Sexy- Needs to mind his manners.

Race 1: 6 Catherinethegreat- Qualifier has me thinking of her wonder horse Rex; 1 Rose Run Kevin- Improving and has show flashes; 2 Sam’s Flash- Big out last time and should get better.

Race 2: 5 Robin Dontget- Class relief and first time Ehrhardt (in awhile, anyway); 1 Shotgun Sam- Ryan chose off to drive my top pick; 9 El Personal Pace- 2nd start lasix, was better in last.

Race 3: 9 Bologna Lips- Negative angle son the rest of the faves, may be ready at first asking; 2 Honorable Guy- Returns from Hoosier after facing better; 7 Baba S- Won’t win, will be in it.

Race 4: 5 Harmony Oaks Tom-Hasn’t won lately, but is doing work every start; 6 Swing Plane- Credible from a bad draw off a break in last; 4 Magic Dart- Classy old guy gets Merriman, but hasn’t shown me enough of late; 1 Amati- Almost always effective when drawing inside.

Race 5: 3 Rader Detector- First back was decent from the snowman, don’t overlook; 9 Art’s Baker- Up in class, but this is a soft group for the level; 7 Knockout Sahbra- Not as effective from outside, but can contend with these.

Race 6: 5 Earnhardt Hanover- Barn is hot and not just due to this one; 9 Mr Orchard Street- Beat these 2 back, 2nd tier an issue? 7 Laughing Is An Art- Opened up class for him, post hurts.

Race 7: 1 Elm Grove Gerson- From the rail, what’s not to like? 7 The Long Goodbye- Proven at this level if he can overcome the draw; 3 Linns Dream- Moves up off big win and gets Koch; 9 Professor Albright- Weintraub’s a decent horseman and this one fits, may need a start locally.

Race 8:.1 Up Front Hanover- Tried to get him beat last week and couldn’t, now he gets the rail; 9 Keystone Swinger- Better trip here; 4 Bus Fare- Opened up class for him and he is fresh.

Race 9: 4 Redzilla- Moves up in good form- another chance; 7 Going Hollywood- Dominated last time Aaron drove; 9 Glasslite- Showing some versatility, which he needs from the second tier.

Race 10:.3 Max’s Cruiser- Quality sophomore figures well with these; 9 Bigboppr Bluegrass- Has been awesome for Merriman; 5 Expensive Western- Gets class relief off some moderate efforts; 2 Intrepid Aries- Another impressive freshman finally gets a post draw.

Race 11: 1 Allamerican Raider- Does the work until final 1/8, rail helps; 2 Eye Of The Dog- Sharp owner/trainer/driver combo here; 7 Make Me Proudchico- Not as effective from out here.

Race 12: 1 Lucca’s Revenge- Back where he belongs, rail a plus; 5 This Sands Hot- Never races badly and JK1-2-3 will give him a trip; 3 Chust Chudy- This chick is hot, a player here.

Race 13:.4 Friendly Kathy- Knocking at the door, breaks through tonight; 1 Classy Sarah- Rarely draws inside, but races well when she does; 7 Pat’s Fantasy- Drops to level of last win, but draws outside

Race 14: 2 Up Front Carl- Looked like a different horse off the barn change; 1 Dream Sunrise- A contender at this level, especially off this draw; 4 Happytime- No excuse in last? Uh, he was parked every step. I think that’s one; 9 Bad Boy Bunny- Drops to level of last win, 2nd

Friday Picks and some thoughts

We did not cash on the Courageous Lady, but it was a heck of a race, with horses coming 5-wide late and the whole field within three-lengths in the final turn. And the pure joy of Sand E Fiftyfive's trainer, Tye Loy, says volumes about what this sport is about-- it was the biggest race he has ever won, even bigger than the Ohio Sires titles he has-- and if we did nto have a courtesy van, he could have floated over to the winners circle. Tye is a hard worker and a genuienly nice and funny guy. Working as the second trainet to the powerful one-horse Dan Kirkwood Stable, in addition to training his own, keeps him busy and I was truly happy for him... and for my buddies, Chris Arold, Mike Drury and the Kohuts, whose Cam's Van Go was second despite the 8 hole. She showed the heart and honor of her dam, 2002 Northfield Horse of the Year Cam's Valentine, and I think we will hear more from her as the PA Sires Stakes move on.

Race 5: 5 Colossal Sahbra- Traffic was worse than the I-480 bridge last week, definite excuse; 2 Game Sophie- Inconsistent, but draws well and has speed; 4 No Ordinary Smile- Value spot.

Race 6: 8 Gadjet- Matt chose despite the outside assignment, can she overcome the snowman? 7 Weekie Wachie- Another class dropper, but post will hurt her more due to racing style; 6 Jl’s Nite Music- Good form and Charlino adds value, although Aaron chose off.

Race 7: 3 Memphis Glow- Hasn’t been the same in ’09, but hasn’t raced this cheap in awhile; 7 Wildfire Osborne- Stahl chose off a Sherman trainee. That’s news; 5 Shelbys Muneymaker- Ultra-consistent, but runs into some tough ones; 6 Moira’s Bliss- This isn’t the Courageous Lady!

Race 8: 2 Precious Lass- Needs the front, but can’t handle 57 opening lap; 1 Foxy Jane- Stahl and big-time post relief, could win this; 5 Miss Matilda- 20-1 ML horse gets Matt K, why not?

Race 9: 2 Fiesty Kindof Luv- Gets along well with Wyatt and showed versatility in last; 9 M D Superstar- Monster mile last race, a repeat? 1 Mary My King- Should be forward early.

Race 10: 9 Mommas Gone Cruzin- Aaron chose off, but I love her chances with Stahl; 2 Divine’s Delight- Supposed to be a good one; 4 Sadie Falcon- Aaron chose, but the injury scratch concerns; 5 Spider Girl- Will improve for Kakaley.

Race 11: 9 Goin Home Ray- A monster qualifier, will it translate? Ursula K- Improving and draws well again; 6 Red S- Decent Q, the wreck was not her fault, but could be a factor.

Race 12: 2 Scooters Clan- Has already “won out” her $1100 Delaware price, another Ashley Cruiser? 5 Tequila- Ultra sharp, but Kakaley chose to drive the two- a tell; 9 Hurricane Kelsey- Racing well, nut the second tier is not her spot.

Race 13: 9 Hillcrest Crystal- Gets class relief and Kakaley for crafty horseman Ash; 5 Diana Court- Has at least done work on occasion; 3 Fox Valley Oberon- Fresh horse and class drop.

Race 14: 1 On The Money- What’s her bottom? 9 Paint Wheel- Maybe a bit closer early in here; 3 April Fool Days- Very consistent, but 0 for ’09; 2 A Fleet Angel- Should get an aggressive drive from Kash Jr.

Miller Lite Courageous Lady Night Picks

The chance to see me in a tuxedo should be worth the price of admission Saturday, May 23, but if you pay $1.75 grandstand or $3.00 clubhouse admission, you also get a free Northfield Park baseball cap, valued at $10! It is a nice cap and I may "buy" another one just to have.

While the post draw for the Miller Lite Courageous Lady probably sealed the deal for Palazzo Princess, there maye be some very good value underneath her. BUT, she has been off for three weeks. She will eitehr be fresh (like the Cavs in the first quarter Wednesday) or stale (like the Cavs in the final three quarters Wednesday). So many of the others (all but Moiras Bliss) raced Monday, how will they race off short rest? Here are a few specific angles (and I will be watching warmups very closely.

SAVE MY SHARK has drawn 7-8-9 in her three seasonal starts. She has had no chance in those races, but has done very good work and show speed.
ANGEL OFTHE WEST raced well in PASS Monday, but it was a slow split. It will be interesting to see how the first -time Charlino angle works here.
SAND E FIFTYFIVE- Tye Loy had some interesting comments about his filly on the USTA website at www.ustrotting.com/absolutenm/anmviewer.asp?a=31787&z=1
SINGNOEVEIL HANOVER- Was very good at two and has had good results this year. Wilder seems to do poorly in stakes races at Northfield, for whatever reason, but this one could be good enough to break that string.
CAMS VAN GO- She was my pick to upset Palazzo Princess until the post draw. A shame, she is owned by a couple regular guys aho have paid their dues. BUT, she has shown great speed this year and if Sugg leaves, he will likely find a hole and things may get interesting if the Princess is not sharp off the layoff- if this filly races like her mom, the local 2002 HOTY, used to, she may overcome the post. No doubt that going for $101K, she will be winging.

Race 5: Coalford Admiral- Gets “stuck” with Hall as Aaron chooses off, who else has driven him? 3 Up Front Hanover- Will be on the point, but for how long? 6 Expensive Western- Drops, no threat to win but must use underneath here.

Race 6: 4 Earnhardt Hanover- We still don’t know how good he is; 5 Delivered Rules- The draw has been his worst enemy, value; 2 Up Front Guy- Needs to do more, but fits with these.

Race 7: 9 Elm Grove Gerson- Has raced huge and now gets Tony Hall; 4 Super Max N- Charlino-Santantonio is a hot combo; 3 Fox Valley Flyby- So is Stahl-Stahl, lol; 5 Nuclear Cam- Needs to leave aggressively here but can contend.

Race 4: 5 Kaydex- Drop to bottom gets him the call despite poor recent form; 1 Eza Rich King- Does enough to pick up checks, but not enough to win out, maybe tonight? 6 Swift Blade- Was facing better but qually shows little; 9 No Parole A- Some back class, but having a tough ’09.

Race 5: 5 Icaria Beach- A trip from Hades in last, time off a concern; 9 Ms Cruzin On Top- Best driver in awhile and should be well-prepped; 3 Bang The Dooragain- Snuffy chose over the 9.

Race 9: 5 Corleones Capo- Improving for current connections; 4 Son Of A Spur- Big class drop, big first half in last; 2 Three Good Fellows- Has disappointed since the claim, but fits here.

Race 10: 1 Mcgwire- 3rd start back for classy veteran who may have bounced in last; 9 Breeze On By N- Form regressing, was post an issue last 2? 2 Liltycantbedenied- Will be forward early and can contend, if not win; 5 Validate Parking- Miserable trip in last, Sugg should help.

Race 11: 2 Shelly Ross- Sitting on a big effort although J.D. chose off; 1 Our Peggy Sue- This one has great connections which may be why J.D. made the pick; 4 Actions By Chip- Nothing wrong with this one’s connections either, last trip is deceptive, another chance.

Race 12: 3 Dreamie Affair- Nothing but 1s and 2s at the wire, why not? 1 French Attack- Consistent, but not as quick as the top choice; 9 L Dees Dr Norman- Will get a good trip in here and (maybe?) live up to his pedigree,

Race 1: 4 Master Wheels- Speedy main contenders draw outside and want front, the Master rolls late; 5 Lucca’s Revenge- 57.3 two back is nothing to sneeze at; 7 Classical Man- Faces a bit softer here, but the outside makes it a tough assignment for Aaron and Slippery Bill Bercury.

Race 2: 1 Simply Don’t- Will. Drops to level of 3/27 smashing win; 5 Gates Of Heaven- Should get an aggressive trip here; 6 Canadian Fury- Hey, Bus Fare did it with a five year layoff, too.

Race 3: 3 Ilooklikevada- What’s not to like? 7 Mighty Looker- Back class & a monster Q, could be a big mile, or on a dead run; 6 Bustamante- Has had success with Stahl, post a question.

Race 4: 5 E C K- Charlino chooses the class dropper over 2 and 4; 1 Three Times Silver- Post won’t be an excuse for Wall-of-Famer Irvine tonight; 3 K C Rudy Dude- Has improved with Lasix, but not as good as the top two; 7 Dream Sunrise- Class relief & a bad post – may need a start.

Race 5: 6 Fox Valley Flyby- Sitting on a big one for owner/trainer/driver Stahl; 4 Up Front Hanover- Big early fractions assured with him, can he last; 9 Noble Star King- Big win in last.

Race 6: 3 Nuclear Cam- 3rd back and gets Aaron back; 5 Red Cloud Rising N- Solid contender at this level; 4 Super Max N- Charlino’s choice over the 5-2 favorite gives me pause. You too?

Race 7: 1 Earnhardt Hanover- Gets better and better, best bet; 3 Mr Orchard Street- Drops from the open, but needs to do more work; 5 Elm Grove Gerson- A bit inconsistent, but has improved for Knipper; 2 Mr Cadillac- Surprised that Aaron picked him coming off a sick scratch.

Race 8: 5 Ira K- Moves back up but is very sharp; BC Majesty- Ducett to Merriman? Yeah, I would consider that; 2 Athlete In Action- May bounce after his first start, but could easily win.

Race 9: 3 Make Me Proudchico- Aaron drove him last time against these on 3/24 and he exploded; 1 Take Down Hall- Two of his last three and a good draw; 9 Eye Of The Dog- In a positive form cycle.

Race 10:.9 Cruisin Sam- Has done decent work in his last two, may surprise; 6 Standing Room- Cruises off his best, but likely needs a start; 4 Currently Flying- Races to his post draw most of the time; 3 Inquisitive Me- Drops to level of last win, but loses Josh.

Race 11: 1 Jim- Charlino, third back and lots of speed, he closes these out, upset special; 4 Krissy K- Down the road as long as she can; 3 Elektrafreak- Another chance after the miscue.

Race 12: 4 Whos Yur Daddy Now- Drops to where I wish I had the cash; 1 Allamerican Viper- Speedster fits here, especially from the rail; 7 Linns Dream- Super sharp, but another bad draw.

Race 13: 3 Mans Star- Aaron’s choice over the #1 (my 1st choice), #7 & #9; 1 Perfect Western- 3rd back and gets the rail for Robin; 6 King Taylor- Drops, but showed zip in previous local starts.
Race 14: 2 Stand N Shout- Beat similar on 4/11 with Stahl; 1 Fancy Schmansy- Back class but has shown little last five; 9 Big Guy Forever- Woke up with the drop last week; 4 Chips Treasure- 1st back, barn change and class relief, he may be ready to roll.

Race 2: 9 My Yankee Lady- Has shown little, but at three has license to improve; 2 Mya Candy- Let’s see if the barn change helps; 7 Brite Time Sue- First time for the red hot Ryan Stahl.

Race 3: 5 Jl’s Nite Music- Class relief plus Aaron plus previous success here= a chalk winner; 2 April Fool Days- First time Matt K won’t hurt; 3 Precious Lass- Improving and last start was not as bad as the line might show.

Race 4: 3 Ashley Cruiser- May be the best buy in the history of the Delaware sale, kudos to John G; 9 Dream Misty- Class relief helps, but still unproven against this class; 7 Electric Highlight- Not at her best level, but always gives effort; 1 Towner’s Big Sadie- Great post here.

Race 5: 5 Colossal Sahbra- Convinced me she’s back with last effort; 4 Sara’s Lil Sis- Three straight snowmen have made her life tough; 1 Enticing Attack- Always does work & has Matt K.

Race 6: 3 Wildfire Osbonre- Beaten fave in the OSS but raced well and these are not OSS material; 1 Spirit Within- Mapes to Kakaley is the angle here, but she meets a bearcat; 2 Shelbys Muneymaker- Keeps doing everything right but faces her toughest test tonight.

Race 7: 5 Tequila- Draws inside the main threat off two straight wins; 7 Silky Sailor- Post may be an issue, but she shows great work from outside; 3 Cathy-D- Must use in trifectas and supers, but not much higher than third; 4 Rinestone Coddie- Gets Stahl and is usually hanging around.

Race 8: 6 Fiesty Kindof Luv- Beats these with flat mile, but that is problematic; Super Jenny- Depends on driver - it won’t be Josh, debut was solid; 9 Cee Cee Comer- Fits, but no wins in ’09.

Race 9: 9 Deal Me Three- Has been in against some tough ones, 2nd tier an issue; 4 Bette The Bunny- Let’ see if fresh hands wake her up; 5 Dr Dan- First starter could step up for Wyatt.

Race 10: 5 Town Toots- Old mare does her best when fresh and with Aaron driving; 1 Doowrah’s Stand- Some bad luck with trips of late, may leave hard here; 2 Red Hott Alert- Improving a bit and draws well; 9 Winning Yankee- Too inconsistent for me, but fits off her best.

Race 11: 3 Star-why- Keeps dropping her lifetime standard and I don’t think we have seen the bottom; 4 Chippednstrawberry- Matt chose to the 3, but this one is a nice filly, may need a start; 9 Peggy Spur- Beat these last time out and second tier should not bother her.

Race 12: 4 The Girl Can Bet- 1st time Aaron & at a competitive level; 7 Ok Spice N- Getting her legs under her and improving; 1 Fun For Eva Mo- Give a shout out to 72-year-old George Muller.

Race 13: 7 Paint Wheel- No chance in last, drops to the bottom for Matt K; 5 Diana Court- Pressured in last, needs a better trip; 1 Storm Front- 3rd start back and raced well in last.

Monday Madness

The weekend weather may play havoc with this card. Rain Saturday, but if it stays nice Sunday and Monday and the track dries out, there may be some great opportunities including a horse coming off a near six-year layoff (Bus Stop) and a race where the entire field has a summary of 76-0-1-3 (the 4th) which would be an .020 UDRS. For comparison purposes, in my Billings driivng career, I am 45-0-2-1, .034 (and I have made more money, too). Good luck!

Race 1: 5 Lucky Job- Big Ben looks for Sugg-cess tonight in a wide-open group; 7 Sand Jamie- Can step up off her breeding has raced well; 6 Cindora- First starter from an underrated barn.

Race 2: 3 Swing To The Top- Did good work with a tough trip in local debut; 1 Beach Bunny- 2nd time tag, 1st time Kakaley, a player; 6 Cam’s Honey- Huge after the ix, no idea how good she might be.

Race 3: 2 Rap S J- Gets Matt K off two solid efforts; 7 Colby’s Prayer- Big effort in last, can improve despite the post; 1 Khasseem- Raced green, but did some work late, adds value to tri.

Race 4: 4 Go For It- Better showing last week, field is 0-76 and one of them will win; 3 Splash Of Tequila- Did work in last two, may surprise; 7 Imperative N- Lost last two by nearly 70 lengths, but has Aaron and back class; 9 I’m Patrick- There was a time he would have laid over these.

Race 5: 9 Cg Rain Princess- Gets the trotting master in the bike; 1 Dees Bomber- Kennedy has been much improved lately; 3 Fugeddaboudit- Needed the last start and should be better here.

Race 6: 4 In Two Win- Gets Matt K. after some decent work for Myrick; 5 Herecomeslasvegas- Improving with every start, but moves up here; 2 French Worker- Dittoes.

Race 7: 9 Happytime- Was competitive with better at Leb; 1 Harmony Oaks Tom- Another chance after a soft effort in last; 3 Thebigguyfromtown- Inconsistent, but competes with this group; 2 Bus Fare- Should be the fresh horse, he’s been off five-and-a-half years.

Race 8: 5 Sister Kathy- Third back and first time claiming tag; 9 Parris Island- Won for the trainer and now gets Kakaley and a tag; 6 Pembroke Party- Gets Stahl as Matt chose off, but still figure with these.

Race 9: 6 Dublin Dollars- Yes, last week really was just nw200ps, this group will be more to his liking; 9 Touch Of Nay- Drops to level of last win, but not wild about the 2nd tier for Elvis’s army mate; 1 Anastasia Willie- Solid qualifier, could be anything if he stays flat.

Race 10: 4 Iconic Style- Stepped up big-time in last and could repeat; 2 French Attack- The major threat, fits very well with here; 1 Modern Mojo- A pretty good Q over the Toledo oval, don’t dismiss; 7 L Dees Dr Norman- One day he may race like his mom, ‘til then he wraps up super.

Race 11: 9 Fox Avenue Mom- OSS effort not as good as it looks, but should best these; 2 Scorin’ Lavec- Good qualifier after a decent three-year-old season; 5 Tripoli- Overmatched in OSS, but I really like this filly.

Race 12: 9 Leach- Does his bets racing with Aaron and gets class relief; 3 Jtshadow- The other class dropper also figures off a ‘55 win at Sarnia last year; 5 Oho Star- Will cut this one, but can he hold on?

Race 13: 2 Chupp Don- Races well when he draws well, he does, he should; 1 Liltycantbedenied- It’s all about the post draw for this one, too; 9 Eye Of The Dog- Will be well-placed to strike; 5 Covered Connection- Beat these last time, but draw was not so kind here.

Race 1: 4 K C Rudy Dude- 3rd trainer in three starts, was huge in last; 1 Key Decision- Class drop and a rail for Aaron; 5 Knockout Sahbra- Always good at this level, must use in exotics.

Race 2: 3 Tropicante- Classy old guy was solid in Q, the best here; 9 Coreloens Capo- JD calls on Josh, an angle that has been decent; 5 Trytopass Sam- Consistent at this level, claim or not.

Race 3: 2 Athletic Al- Actually has a recent win on his card, that’s enough against this group; 9 Three Sox Missing- Stahl’s choice fits with these; 1 Red Heads Star- Stahl chose off, but he gets the rail, making him usable.

Race 4: 3 Eagle Creek Patrol- Lukewarm call in a race void of solid angles; 9 Go Bogart- Not effective when he can’t lead and comes off a sick scratch; 4 Inquisitve Me- Slowly improving for Putney; 7 Class Worker- Does work and Charlino will coax an effort from him.

Race 5: 7 Heza Ranger- Delaware sale angle; gets Aaron and he is improving; 4 Lookingpretty- The best on paper and could cruise; 2 Ira K- Finally woke up last week, up a bit here, but figures.

Race 6: 1 Oneforthepresident- Wyatt’s choice needs the front here; 2 Green Acre Pill- Inconsistent and Wyatt chose off, bu can contend; 6 Linns Dream- Hard one to figure, a facto roff his best.
