Here is a video of Brooke playing in the grass earlier. She is so darn cute.. Still not completely crawling, but there are lots of time where she does "the worm". She gets up on her hands and knees and flops forward, and does that same move over and over and over..

It was a beautiful day out today. We spent some time out on the front lawn. Brooke loves being outside and playing in the grass. Here is a couple of pictures of her enjoying the day.

Happy Mother's Day

Brooke and I ran in a Mother's Day 9K this morning. I had never run with a jogger and was slower than I would have liked, but we made it! Brooke was a trooper. She chatted most of the way and only got fussy around the last 2K.

Brooke's first swim lesson

Brooke had her first swim lesson tonight. I'm not sure she enjoyed it as much as she normally likes to go swimming. We tried to get her to blow bubbles and kick her feet with her legs straight and paddle with her arms and stuff. Plus the water was colder! She was a trooper though! She got to finish the class with a ride down the water slide with her daddy.

We hung out in the family hot tub afterwards to warm up. She liked that much better!

Closer to crawling..

Here is another video of Brooke progressing in her crawling. She actually gets up on her hands and knees alot and rocks back and forth. In the video she is up on her toes and walking forward and then flops forward. Also a very cute part of her rolling and trying to steal the camera! She is getting more and more mobile everyday!

Here is a video of Brooke in the beginning stages of crawling. She can roll anywhere fast.. but the scootching forward takes a lot more work..

If you are wondering why she is talking and is so happy.. It's because her best friend is in the mirror she is crawling towards. Duh! :)

Spring is here!

Today was a beautiful day so we went for a walk. Check out Brooke in her cute hat and just lounging in her stroller. Too cute!

And of course we had to visit the swing too! Brooke loves it!

Matt and I decided it was finally time for Brooke to get a new carseat. She looks so tiny in the new one!

However, we had to buy neck support for when she falls a sleep as you can see!

7 Months!

Well.. Brooke is now 7 months old. She turned 7 months on Monday, and Monday night she slept through the night! She slept from 8pm until 9am when Matt and I woke her up. Yes, that's right.. we had to wake her up! There was no feeding.. or crying for 13 straight hours!

Last night I got up and fed her at 1am.. but I'm not sure she really needed it.. I think she would have gone back to sleep. But again she then slept until 8:45 this morning!

I think our little baby has grown up! Afterall, she is 7 months old now!

In other news, Brooke can now sit up and play forever. She is also able to scoot herself in a circle on her stomach and she is rolling EVERYWHERE! She's not crawling yet, but I think she is close. She lays on her tummy with her arms outstretched and kicks her feet as hard as she can. Not very effective, but VERY cute!

6 Month Check Up.. or is it 7?

Well again Brooke was late for her 6 month well baby check. I actually had this one scheduled on time, but then had to reschedule it because we ended up being out of town on the date. Everything looked goood! She's starting solids. She got some shots (ouch!). Here are the stats..

Weight: 16lbs 9oz - 45th percentile
Length: 28 inches - 95th percentile
Head Circumference: 18 inches - 76th percentile

Brooke continues to grow like a sprout.. but she's skinny! The doctor said he wasn't worried, and that her weight only dropped 5 percent. She's just growing so tall!

We see the doctor again in a couple of months (at 9 months), and Brooke is lucky that time because there are no shots! Poor little girl has been running a fever today because of them!

Brooke's 6 Month Photo Shoot

Matt and I decided to go all out for Brooke's 6 month photo shoot. We hired the same photographer for our wedding to come to our house and take the pictures. I'm going to post ALOT of them because there were so many good ones. I made them smaller so they would fit in the post, but just click on the picture to see it a little bigger.

My favorite one is the one with all of us. Also, the picture of Brooke in the white dress is special too. Brooke's great great grandmother made the dress, and both my mom and myself wore it in our 6 month pictures and now Brooke has also wore it in her 6 month pictures. Very Cool! Enjoy!

Happy Easter to all that celebrate the holiday. I took Brooke to see the Easter Bunny this week. The Easter Bunny is kinda creepy.. very different then Santa! I placed Brooke on his lap before I think she saw him, so she didn't realize who was holding her during the picture. After the picture I turned her around so she could see him. She didn't cry but she didn't seem happy, and when he reached out to touch her hand she immediately pulled it away.

It's a cute picture anyways, but we will probably not go see the Easter Bunny next year!

Matt, Brooke and I are going to our friend Alison's parent's house tomorrow. They celebrate a Greek Easter with Lamb and Spinach Pie. Sounds yummy to me!

Ski Cooper!

Every year for Christmas Matt's dad and step-mom give us a ski trip to SkiCooper and a few nights in Leadville. Here are a few pictures from this weekend, which had fabulous skiing/boarding this weekend!

Berkley Soccer Assistant Coach

Uncle Cliff is the Varsity Soccer coach at Berkley High School for both the girls team and the boys team. Berkley High School is where I went to High School if you didn't know. Cliff's girlfriend Emily made Brooke a sweatshirt. On the front it says "Berkley Soccer Assistant Coach" and on the back it says "Sturtz". Here are a few pictures of Uncle Cliff and Brooke wearing their Berkley Soccer matching Coach clothes.

Uncle Cliff is here visiting for a week and we went snowboarding/skiing today. I'm not sure Brooke enjoys coming on these adventures and hanging out in the lodge, but she tolerates it.

Brooke's New High Chair

Brooke is now big enough for her high chair, plus we started some real food last week. So far she has had sweet potatoes and carrots. She loves to play in the high chair while I'm in the kitchen cooking or we are eating too! I think she likes being up higher, and we just give her some toys to play with! She loves it! Thanks Amy and Joe! (They are the ones who gave us the highchair)

Here are some random pictures I took of Brooke today.

The first one is of her in her snuggly. We've been taking walks lately, as it has been really warm. One day last week actually reached 67 degrees! Brooke loves the swing in the park too! Today it was much cooler so we had to bundle her up. Doesn't she look adorable in her snuggly that her great grandma Sturtz knitted her?

This is another picture of Brooke with her puppy Ikaika. They can't get enough of each other!

GrandMary had to buy this outfit for Brooke yesterday. It's such a cute outfit. GrandMary calls it a hippy outfit! It's a little bit big for Brooke so she'll have to wait to wear it for a little while longer.

Aquarium

GrandMary and Grandpa Moose have come to visit! On Saturday we all went to the Denver Aquarium and Brooke loved it as you can see! She really enjoyed looking at the fishes and tracked them as they swim past.

Happy Valentines Day to everyone! I hope you have a day full of love!

Here is a picture of Brooke in her Valentines Day outfit and her little Valentines doggie! Brooke was given the leopard print pants and red jacket by one of her Grandmary's co-workers.

Sarah (the nanny) told me that Matt said that she looked like a pimp with the jacket on. All she needed was a hat and sunglasses.
