Over the last half year I have not entered any new messages to this blog, simply because I can't stomach going over all the bad news to keep this blog alive...
Now one year after the Tibetan uprising around March 10, 2008, the situation is not any better, but the outside world does not see much on the media these days, simply because the entire country is closed for foreigners, and especially foreign press.

Please, if you want to stay informed about the actual situation, I can highly recommend Agam's blog and the links to the right of this message.

Rudyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14271088449054207652noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5780779040487269706.post-66137766285567419172008-08-22T02:28:00.000-07:002008-08-22T02:33:11.398-07:00Fasting for TibetA Personal Request from Samdhong Rinpoche

Dear Friends,

You might have seen the Appeal issued by the Tibetan Solidarity Committee to request all Tibetans, Tibet Support Groups and peace-loving people of the world to observe a 12-hour symbolic fasting and prayer on 30th August 2008 for world peace and, particularly, for the departed souls of the Tibetan people in recent months in Tibet. The appeal also re-commits ourselves to the path of non-violence. The objectives and how to observe the fasting are mentioned in detail in the appeal. If you have not received the appeal as yet, please visit our official website www.tibet.net and www.stoptibetcrisis.org.

We consider this as extremely important non-violent action taken by Tibetans under the leadership of His Holiness the Dalai Lama in a very critical period for Tibet, particularly the post-Olympic period. I personally request you and your organization to kindly participate in this fast and prayer and encourage many other people to join us in this effort to reduce our own defilements and to create wisdom and compassion in the minds of the oppressor. I believe you will cooperate us in this
non-violent action.
With my warm personal greetings,

Your sincerely,

Samdhong Rinpoche
14 August 2008
KALON TRIPA

Rudyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14271088449054207652noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5780779040487269706.post-44520312863836999922008-08-22T02:24:00.000-07:002008-08-22T02:26:16.495-07:00It is far from over yet...Latest information as of july 29, 2008, number of Tibetans killed, arrested, and injured since March 10 clampdown on the Tibetans by the PRC follows below:

Number of Tibetans killed: more than 216
Number of Tibetan injured: above 1,000
Number of Tibetan arrested: more than 5,972
In view of the ongoing critical situation inside Tibet, we urge the United Nations and the International community and organizations to the following urgent needs:

To immediately send an independent international fact-finding mission into Tibet
To exert pressure on the PRC government to allow unfettered access to free press in whole of Tibet
To pressure the PRC to end the brutal killings in the whole of Tibet
To immediately release all the arrested and imprisoned Tibetans
To extend immediate medical assistance to those injured Tibetans
To allow free movement of people and provide access to daily needs
- Tibetan Solidarity Committee

Rudyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14271088449054207652noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5780779040487269706.post-69745794061976830512008-05-15T15:18:00.000-07:002008-05-15T15:34:58.845-07:00China and Myanmar - a comparisonMyanmar
1. They were standing in front of the Jokhang Square where military in blue ensures nobody crosses the square. The baby walked up the three steps to the square and started to make prostrations towards the Jokhang while his grandmother also prayed but her frail body prevented her from prostrating as well. When the boy finished he looked at the guards, then at his grandmother, and then started to walk closer to the temple. The guards looked at the baby, not knowing what to do. After about ten meters the baby boy stopped and prostrated again, then turned around, walked back to one of the guards and took his hand to say goodbye.
Seeing this reminded me that all Tibetan people want is religious freedom and the right to preserve their culture."

OM MANI PADME HUM

Rudyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14271088449054207652noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5780779040487269706.post-86474546762803839502008-05-06T13:45:00.001-07:002008-05-06T13:49:52.469-07:00Unbelievable suffering in BurmaPlease take a moment to reflect on the tens of thousands of deaths and the unknown number of hurt and homeless people in Burma after the storm. People are arrested," Dolkun Isa, secretary general of the Munich-based World Uighur Congress, told AFP in Tokyo."
"Even people with no past records have been arrested simply because they look suspicious."
Kadeer, who spent six years in a Chinese jail from 1999-2005 and now lives in exile in the United States, also repeated her charge that China fabricated recent claims that it broke up Xinjiang-based terror cells targeting the Olympics.
"China is using the occasion to host the 2008 Olympics as an opportunity to further demonise the Uighur people's legitimate and peaceful struggle and justify its heavy-handed repression in East Turkestan," she said.

In the mean time, you can rest assured that thousands of Tibetans are being beaten up in jails, Falun Gong practitioners are waiting to be killed for their organs, and everything else is also 'normal' in China.
OM MANI PADME HUM

Rudyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14271088449054207652noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5780779040487269706.post-25316909938562053612008-05-05T05:22:00.000-07:002008-05-05T05:27:11.824-07:00Warning to journalists who will visit Tibet soonPlease take note of this warning from Woeser if you are invited to make a visit to Tibet soon:

In Lhasa the authorities have created the appearance of harmony. The soldiers who were on duty all took off their uniforms and dressed up as tourists to walk around everywhere. Most soldiers on guard duty changed into the police uniforms, and the same soldier would change into uniforms for ground force, armed police and policemen. The authorities also created the false appearance of the freedom for religious belief. While some work units notified their employees their place of work is to circumambulate the Potala Palace, the neighborhood committees also organized and encouraged people to go on circumambulation tour and to pay homage in Sera Monastery which has been ordered to open to the public by the authorities themselves. They rewarded these people for doing so with bonuses. It is learned that recently there will be another journalist group, including foreign journalists, to visit Lhasa. In order to show that people enjoy the right to hold demonstrations freely, some work units will organize their employees to hold demonstrations, and the content for holding the demonstrations is about some trivial matters.

So now the government is going so low as to act as if there is freedom of speech in Tibet - how sick can you get? Due to the virtually total communications blackout by the Chinese, it is very difficult to know exactly what is happening, but there seems to be very little reason to be optimistic.

Yes, the Chinese gevernment should be talking to representatives of His Holiness the Dalai Lama (who was just announced to be Time Magazine's most influencial person in the world), but the Chinese press is not changing its vitriolic language against him at all. One could carefully conclude from that, that chances for a real breakthrough are minimal. I do pray that I'm wrong of course...

Also, Status of Chinese People comes out with a new report of ongoing organ harvesting done apparently on an ongoing basis on Falun Gong practitioners and prisoners who are sentenced to death.
So while you go to the Olympics, why not pick up a fresh liver or kidney while you are there?...

At the same time, the Chinese government are moaning that putting out the Olympic torch is seriously disturbing China's internal harmony. When do these people get real? Do we really need to give President Hu and his whole corrupt clique a standard torture and re-education treatment in a Chinese prison to get through their thick skulls?

Rudyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14271088449054207652noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5780779040487269706.post-55636117532504330622008-05-01T15:40:00.000-07:002008-05-01T15:54:25.573-07:00Developing Human Rights - the Fascist WayFrom: Boycott 2008 Communist Olympics:

The Olympic message (slightly edited/shortened)

In 2001, the International Olympic Committee awarded Beijing the 2008 Olympics. Liu Jingmin, Vice President of the Beijing Olympic Bid, in April 2001, said: "By allowing Beijing to host the Games you will help the development of human rights."

From the Human Rights Torch Relay issues of concern:

- An estimated 100 million Falun Gong practitioners and their families are enduring ever more stringent persecution; tens of thousands of Falun Gong prisoners of conscience have had their organs forcibly extracted and sold.

- Hundreds of thousands of Chinese citizens are held as political prisoners without charge or trial, including democracy activists, lawyers, human rights defenders, religious leaders, journalists, trade unionists, Tibetan Buddhists (including monks and nuns), Uighurs, ‘unofficial’ church members, Falun Gong practitioners, environmental activists, health and reproductive rights activists, and political dissidents.

- People have been evicted from their homes to make way for commercial construction, and beaten or killed if they protest; any meager payment offered to them is usually stolen by corrupt local officials.

- Millions of Chinese are sent without trial to slave labor camps, where they are tortured and forced to work long days producing consumer goods.

- China continues to impose forced abortion and sterilization to enforce its gruesome ‘One Child’ policy, as per-family population control measures.

- China imprisons more reporters, and executes more prisoners, than any other country in the world.

- The military junta in Burma, controlled by the CCP, has enforced 19 years of brutal oppression on the Burmese people, and most recently violently cracked down on monks, sympathizers and reporters.

- The Chinese regime funds and arms the Sudanese-government-supported Janjaweed militia, which is committing genocide in Darfur. Hundreds of thousands have been murdered and nearly two million displaced from their homes.

- Close monitoring and suppression of free speech at all levels.

And a few extra from myself:

- People who practice their right for petition as per Chinese law are jailed (see 3 messages ago).

- Freedom of religion is 'ensured' by Chinese law, in practice however, there is no freedom of religion at all.

- People's houses are raided and persons are arrested on a large scale without apparent reason, often these people are beaten/tortured and - if they are lucky - freed after some time.

- Many trials in China are a complete farce; they are not public, accused have no access to a lawyer and are not even allowed to make a statement; the latest 'trials' of Tibetans are a good example of this.

- (Child) Slavery, it exists, and probably not just a few isolated cases.

- The bodies of people who die because of torture in prisons, whose organs are cut out for organ donation, or are shot during protests are often cremated to cover up any remaining evidence - nothing short of what Nazi Germany did in their famous concentration camps.

- People are forced to undergo 're-education sessions' in an attempt to brainwash any ideas that are not convenient to the central government. During the last weeks a new re-education was ordered to take place in Tibet.

But, it seems the happiness of some athletes is more important then all of this...

Rudyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14271088449054207652noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5780779040487269706.post-59841339596491757682008-05-01T14:40:00.000-07:002008-05-01T14:52:37.075-07:00Beijing Olympic torch - uncensored versionFrom Getty Images

Rudyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14271088449054207652noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5780779040487269706.post-14991589998429664182008-04-28T14:04:00.001-07:002008-04-28T14:19:35.450-07:00Really hate to say this, but I told you so...From the Human Rights Torch Relay site:

In front of the Congress, on April 24, Olympic torch was relayed in Canberra, Australia. “Ït shows to everyone in the world that the event like what happened today in Australia is actually a new round of ‘Cultural Revolution’. ” (Mr. Chen Yonglin, a former Chinese diplomat).

You can look in the archive of this blog for April 2. In this video a white Australian couple had a cardboard placard asking for autonomy in Tibet. They were surrounded, had their placard covered by the Chinese flag, and shouted down, "One China", " Go away", "who hired you?" and at the end "Use your own f***cking brain! You are against the free will of 1.4 billion people - --one fourth of the world's population. Do you think we care?"

Other friends were punched in the stomach, kicked, spat on, had their flags and placards snatched away and stomped on. Several people were hit with flagpoles. Didn't matter if we were Tibetan or Australian. Nigel was given a hefty shove and rescued by the Chinese PAP. So much for respect for elders!

The worst thing was that in our own country, we were prevented from exercising our right to free speech and point of view by foreign nationals.

At least 10,000 Chinese, mainly students were bussed from Melbourne and Sydney and Adelaide, with all expenses paid for. On arrival they were fed, they listened to Chinese military music and were coached, with leaders in most groups shouting out slogans. Even the police were overwhelmed and horrified. The worst incident I heard of (reported by Reuters but not the local press) was a 15 year old Tibetan boy. He was set upon as he was on his way to the kiosk to get something to eat. 150 Chinese students belted him and chased him. Desperate to get away he ran into the waters of Lake Burley Griffin. The owners of the kiosk called the police and he was rescued by the police launch. Many Tibetans were distraught, it brought back awful memories for them."

This seems to be the only flame in the world that spreads darkness...

Rudyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14271088449054207652noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5780779040487269706.post-71537952184694070232008-04-25T14:36:00.000-07:002008-04-25T14:38:30.275-07:00'Freedom of complaint' the Chinese wayOf course not just the Tibetans have problems...

Happy Olympics.
May the Chinese government become sportsmen rather then fascists...

Rudyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14271088449054207652noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5780779040487269706.post-84417006103818431162008-04-25T06:27:00.000-07:002008-04-25T06:49:51.680-07:00Will the miracle happen?China plans to meet Dalai Lama envoys
By Reuters April 25

Chinese officials will meet representatives of the Dalai Lama, the spiritual leader of Tibetan Buddhism whom China blames for a wave of unrest, Xinhua news agency reported on Friday, citing official sources.

The move marks a change in tactics on the part of Beijing, which has stepped up its vilification of the Dalai Lama since anti-government protests hit Tibet and rippled across ethnic Tibetan parts of China in the past weeks.

"It is hoped that through contact and consultation, the Dalai side will take credible moves to stop activities aimed at splitting China, stop plotting and inciting violence and stop disrupting and sabotaging the Beijing Olympic Games so as to create conditions for talks," Xinhua quoted the official as saying.

As Agam noted in his blog:
"So that's that then -- he's never done any of those things. The talks are on."

Please pray with me that the Dalai Lama's representative will not talk to deaf ears only...
OM MANI PADME HUM

Rudyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14271088449054207652noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5780779040487269706.post-78043349593175357562008-04-22T16:10:00.000-07:002008-04-22T16:35:36.358-07:00China urges Australians not to protestIsn't that an interesting comment from a country that keeps hiding behind the statement that the outside world should not interfere with its "internal politics"?

It seems that Chinazi's Foreign Ministry wants Australia to skip the constitution for the Holy Torch. Of course, Mao (the biggest mass-murderer of Chinese history), was only '30% wrong' according to the current fuehrers that run the central government, and it seems his beloved statement 'religion is poison' is considered to be in the '70% right'-category.

Probably you heard of the group of 17 Muslim Uyghurs who were killed in a raid by Chinese SS troops in January this year. Most of the Uyghurs, like the Tibetans, do not even want a separate state, but at least some cultural autonomy and religious freedom and simply be 'left in peace' by the continuous pestering by the central Fuehrership.
Now an Uyghur Chrisitan is enjoying two years re-education through labor by the Re-education Labor Committee of Hetian City, Xinjiang, for, yes what exactly? For those who are more familiar with the German Nazi terminology, 'Re-education Labor Committee' is 'Concentration Camp' in Chinese.

The Chinese constitution guarantees the right to religious freedom, but apparently not the right to own an Uyghur bible, nor visiting a Three Self Church in Xinjiang, and obviously praying with foreign Christians is out of the question, so what exactly does religious freedom mean in China?
Much more background in this article by Elizabeth Van Wie Davis.

Or maybe just being Uyghur is the problem?
Not really, if you ask the 46 Christians arrested in Kashi, Xinjiang, 2 detained for 15 days or the 120 House Church members who were detained in Liu Fang-ping village, Chuanhui County of Zhoukou City, Henan. "The Christians were studying the Bible in the home of Wang Ming-Liang, when suddenly, more than 60 policemen entered Wang’s home, and detained all of the members." Sounds like very dangerous for the empire...

Perhaps we should ask the Falung Gong members who are in prison at the moment, waiting to be killed in case someone needs a fresh organ...

<a href"http://chinaaid.org/persecution/history-of-persecution-in-china/">Some info regarding the 'religious freedom' in the Fourth Empire:
1982 - The Chinese Communist Party (CCP) Central Committee (the Fuerhrers) formulate “The Basic Viewpoint and Policy on the Religious Affairs during the Socialist Period of Our Country,”known as “Document No. 19.” This document continues as the basis of the religious policy and itemizes “five characteristics” (wu xing) of religion in socialist China: that it 1) will exist for a long time, 2) has masses of believers 3) is complex, 4) entwines with ethnicity, and 5) affects international relations. The document concludes that: 1) religious affairs should be handled with care, 2) religious believers should be rallied for the central task of economic construction and 3) religious freedom should be guaranteed, as long as the believers love the country, support CCP rule and observe socialist laws. It acknowledges the mistakes of militant atheism, yet clearly reaffirms the atheist doctrine that religion will wither away and that atheist propaganda should be carried out unremittingly.

OK, it finally dawns on me: "religious believers should be rallied for the central task of economic construction", means all religious people (especially people like priests, monks and nuns) should be put in labour camps, and "religious freedom should be guaranteed, as long as the believers love the country, support CCP rule..." means that religious freedom is not guaranteed if you are not enthusiastically in favour of the repressing Han Chinese and the omniscient and all-wise central Fuehrership. Of course, that also explains why Tibetan monasteries need to fly the Chinese flag - just to pay reverence to the holy Fuehrers.

So, I have a suggestion to the Chinese Central Party: they should promote another '-ism' that suits much better; it works very well to proclaim the Han Chinese a superior race, it promotes the use of re-education camps (concentration camps), it is patriotic, well-organized, nationalistic and socialist; of course, Fascism! To make the New China complete, you need some tine changes, the new name of the country could be Zina (swap the syllables), the CCP should be called 'the Fuehrers'. Zina has already found it's Mussulini: he is called Mugabe and is doing a great job of organizing Zimbabwe at the moment...
All we are waiting for is a declaration of war with the rest of the world - well, what better symbolism is the Olympic Games to set the world in flames...

Rudyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14271088449054207652noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5780779040487269706.post-43437946038909737882008-04-18T11:01:00.000-07:002008-04-18T12:07:56.085-07:00Great Olympic Flames of FascismAfter the great success of the Cultural Revolution and the Great Leap Forward in killing millions of people, destroying all morals and culture of China's history, it's now official; we now have the Great Olympic Flames of Fascism. As communism was perhaps 30% wrong (like Mao), China is now a new country, driven by patriotism and a blooming economy, and a New Glorious Revolution is needed.

With courageous patriotic acts of the glorious blue tracksuit army, Chinese authorities are now ordering the arrest and punishment of all Tibetan monks, nuns and other terrorists who dare to peacefully question the authority of the Holy Olympic Flames with torture, starving and - where necessary - the beating-to-death of these anti-patriotic criminal prisoners. The glorious Chinese Leadership has not only re-introduced the wonderful technique of re-education at gun-point, but have in their great wisdom now decided the attack on the strongholds of the suicide-bombing-terrorist-splittists of the Dalai Lama Clique: The monasteries can be destroyed again!

All true Chinese patriots are now ordered to join the Great Olympic Flames of Fascism to bring the chauvinist rest of the world to their knees and build our 10,000-year Middle Empire.

See Agam's RAIDS, RE-EDUCATION, RESIST, REPEAT for the depressing facts...

Rudyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14271088449054207652noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5780779040487269706.post-39391579912193769142008-04-18T10:04:00.000-07:002008-04-18T10:19:33.565-07:00More witches please! You may have heard about the witch-hunt that was started after the Chinese girl Grace Wang at Duke University USA tried to make up her own mind between two groups of opposing protesters. An interview with her is available at Radio Free Asia. To me, she sounds like the most sensible Chinese person in the news since quite a while. A pretty heroic stance for a young student - applause!
A few sound bites:

"I think that this strange “anger” which we see among Chinese people right now is evidence of great psychological imbalance. It is a peculiar, twisted form of patriotism. It isn’t really patriotism at all. It is all about boosting oneself by attacking other people."
...
"It really does look just like the Cultural Revolution to me. When I was studying that period in China’s history, I didn’t believe it. But it’s really like a joke. A lot of these people think that there was no such thing as the Cultural Revolution, that it didn’t happen, but right now we are experiencing something very similar…"
...
"Actually there is a huge silent majority in China who don’t speak out. They can see clearly what is going on and they can think for themselves. So far, not one of those more considered voices has been heard. We are just hearing the rather excitable views of the people who are content to view things superficially. I think that this whole affair will blow over and be forgotten about, but psychologically it won’t have been dealt with.
