Bon LLoc apartments are back

The apartments Bon Lloc in Santa Eulalia are back.
They were part of the Servitur chain and has now been sold. These apartments have been renewed with a lot of love but some of the rooms are missing basic equipment like television. All the missing equipment will be installed at the end of the season, around October.
The Bon Lloc apartments enjoy a privileged location by being in the very centre of Santa Eulalia, one block away from the beach and also one block away from the harbour.
This area has almost endless dinning and shopping possibilities.
In this location you really don’t need a car you can reach every thing you could possibly want by foot.

Roca Mar special offer

The Hotel Roca Mar in the sport harbour of Ibiza Town has a special offer.
They offer their double rooms at 70 euros a night in April, for an extra 15 euros you rent a car and explore the island.

The Roca Mar is a small hotel, with only 16 rooms, this gives them their familiar flair.
They are situates at only 50 meters form the Beach of Talamanca, this beach is about 200 meters long and here you will find some great restaurants with ocean view.
On the other side the have one of the best views of the old town you will find on the island. The ferry boat that crosses the harbour is only 100 meters away.
For those of you how want to party the world famous Pacha Disco is with in walking distance and so is El Divino.

This is also one of the few accommodation in Ibiza were you can bring your pet, as long as it’s not over 6 kg.

We have new client hotel reviews for you.
The first one is for the Hotel Ereso, situated in Es Cana, in the municipality of Santa Eulalia, Ibiza. This accommodation is part of the Invisa chain, which has a reputation as being one of the best chain in the island.
The review is written in Spanish and they say that the Ereso did not supply them with champu or hairdryer. I must say this comment came to a real surprise to us, since othe client have left nothing but positive comments of this accommodation.

Our next review is once more for the friendly El Pinar apartments. Once again they say that they have excellent staff and the location is ideal for a relaxing holiday in Ibiza.

We also have a Italian review for the Mare Nostrum hotel in Playa den bossa.

With 3 companies we hope to guarantee the supply of cars even in high season.
The new company is Autos Mari, has over 25 years of experience with car, motorcycle and van rentals.
They are have several offices in Santa Eulalia, Siesta, Sargamassa, Cala Llonga and Portinatx.
They have a wide selection of vehicles, every thing from a Honda Lead scooter to a Ford Transit van.

Many people are intimidated of the thought of having to find their way to the hotel in an island they don’t know in a car they are not familiar with.

The new generation of maps are already in all the pages of hotels, hostels and apartments in Ibiza town and Playa D'en Bossa.
For those of you how did not read our first blog about our new maps,
we use the same Google Maps as before but in the comment window of the hotel we have added a new feature.
This feature consists of a how to get here, with 3 links to the possible entry points to Ibiza, the airport, the harbour of Ibiza Town and the harbour of San Antonio.
If you click on any of the links you get a map with the best route to get to your accommodation, with the driving indications on the left hand side and the map on the right hand side.
You can also get the inverse directions or even change the starting and arrival point completely.

As you know were you are going now, the best way to go around the island is with a rented car, in our car rental section we have a total of 3 companies you can choose from.

The 4 star Rural Hotel Sa Talaia in the area of San Antonio has installed Wi-fi (wireless internet). This service is available in the entire hotel including the rooms.
The old Finca was the personal residence of Abel Matutes, the richest man on the island of Ibiza. He owns the Fiesta Hotel group, the CAM Bank and all the ferry company that go to Ibiza except one (Iscomar).
You can probably imagine that this Rural hotel or Agroturismo (as they are called in Spain) has been restored with a lot of love and a substantial economical investment.
Jacuzzi, tennis courts, air conditioning and TV with DVD are only a few of the things this accommodation has to offer.

We have several new client comments for you.
The first of come from Scotland and is for the Club Playa den Bossa – Ibiza. The client says that “it’s the best Hotel she ever stayed in, excellent service and extremely welcoming”.
This is the perfect accommodation for you people how like to party, it is right across the street form the Space Disco and only one block away from the Bora Bora Beach bar.

Our next comment come from wales and is for the Sol Bay in the Bay of San Antonio – Ibiza. These apartments are part of the biggest hotel chain in the island, the Grupo Playa Sol.
She goes on to say that the apartments are OK but they are noisy and she does not recommend then for families with children, it is also hard to get a snack in this accommodation and gives them 2 stars out of 5 possible.

The last client review is for the Sanfora Hotel also in the bay of San Antonio – Ibiza.
The client says that they are very reasonably priced but basic. There are good restaurants with in walking distance. He also says it is in walking distance of the West End but far enough not to hear any thing.

We have added virtual reality to the Mare Nostrum Hotel in Playa den Bossa.
This is part of the Grupo Playa Sol chain and is one of the biggest hotels in the island, with 500 rooms.
It is situated in second sea line only 4 to 5 blocks away from the popular Bora Bora Beach bar and about 6 blocks from the Space disco.
The clientele is mixed, with every thing from clubbers to families coexisting peacefully.

The 360º virtual reality tour consists of 10 inter connected modules. The bedroom, bathroom, balcony, reception, pool, Kids Park, restaurant, out side and the football court.
There are 4 links at the bottom to quickly access 4 of the main areas.

In the views of the balcony there were 2 construction cranes, which we took out because they are only temporal and soon they will not be there.

Blau Park has installed Wi-Fi

The Apart hotel Blau Park in San Antonio has installed Wi-fi (wireless internet) in the entire hotel, including the common areas and the rooms.
This is probably the best 4 star accommodation in San Antonio, situated right next to the legendary Café del Mar (it also enjoys the same great sun set).
It is with in walking distance of the West End (the bars and party street) but far enough that the noise does not disturb your sleep.
3 blocks away from the West End you will find the 2 Macro discos San Antonio has to offer: Eden and Es Paradis.
Their web page also has a 360 panoramic virtual reality page, if have been following our blog you will know we are working on adding this technology to all the hotels and apartments we represent.
They also have some excellent client reviews, the clients recommend the Blau Park over all other hotels in Town and so do we.

Take a virtual tour of the Hotel Maritimo

We have added virtual reality to the Hotel Maritimo in Figueretas.
There is a new feature compared with our first 360 panorama of the Parot apartments.
This time we have a link directly to the 4 main areas of the hotel, this way you have a quick access to the entire hotel.
There is a total of 10 connected modules, and in each one you can zoom in, zoom out, and move the viewer into all directions.
This hotel also has a video and combined with the client comments and map is a pretty good example of what we plan to do in all the accommodations we represent in Ibiza.

The beach was missed out on purpose because they were caring out a cleaning job, also underwater and there were huge red bags filled with garbage, anyway we thought this was not representative of what the beach looks like 99,9 % of the time. How ever you can see the beach in all detail in the video.

Our videos have been watched 40,000 times.
We started with the production of videos in January of 2007 and since then we have added a total of 25 videos wish can be seen in Youtube and other big video portals.
Our most popular video was the one of the Aguas Blancas Beach,(it has been seen 4,300 times) our most recent video is 2 months old and is the second movie of the Argos Hotel in Talamanca.

We have bought new equipment and as soon as the season starts we will be producing many more films. These films will be of a much higher quality so stay tuned.

Like we mentioned in our last blog we will combine the videos with Virtual reality and the Maritimo Hotel in Figueretas is almost finished.

Virtual Reality for Hotels in Ibiza

Our goal has always been to give our clients the most precise information of hotels in Ibiza so that you know what you are really getting for your money.
Were we will play an impartial roll and only show you what is there.
With this philosophy in mind we started last year with the videos of hotels in Ibiza.
Even if the videos are a great tool the client sees what we want to show them and not what they want to see.
The only way to show on a web page exactly what the accommodation looks like is virtual reality and that is exactly what we are staring to do.
We started with the Apartments Parot in Santa Eulalia and we hope to do many more very soon.

This does not mean that we will stop making videos, in fact we have just purchased new equipment to improve the quality of our videos.
We believe that virtual realty and videos complement each other very well. As a 360 panoramic view can not really transmit the personality of a accommodation like a video can.
A video like we said before will just show you what we want to show you and not what you want to see.

We will keep you informed as we add this feature to other hotels and apartments.

Have you ever wanted to drive a Maserati up to one of Ibizas world famous discos and have the girls go wild and the guy die of envy but you just don’t have the $$$.
We have good news for you there is a German car rental company specialized in luxury cars, they bring cars to Ibiza in summer.

New generation of maps

We have created a new generation of maps for the hotels.
The 2 first hotels that already have this technology is the Tres Carbelas in Playa den Bossa and the 4 star Blau Park hotel in San Antonio.
It consists of a Google map like we always had but know in the window we have the name of the accommodation and then we have a how to get here section with three links covering all the possible entry points of the island: The airport, the harbour of Ibiza town and the harbour of San Antonio.
Once you click on the link you get a page with the exact trail to follow to get from any of these 3 points to the hotel, on the left hand side you find the instructions to follow to drive yourself.
On the top left hand side you will also find a button to get the inverse direction to find your way back to the airport of harbour.

Beneath you will find a rent a car link that brings you to our car rental page were you can make your booking with a system that is similar to the one used to make your booking for the hotels.
Witch we thought would be useful now that you know how your way around the island.

Problems of Eastern

Many hotels in Ibiza will not open their doors in Eastern of this year.
The reason is that eastern is very early this year, end of March. If a accommodation opens they have that one week were they will have a good occupancy but then they will have to wait till the beginning of May till the tourist season starts again almost with out customers and with the high costs of personal.
This idea has scared many hotels and apartments that prefer to wait till May to open their doors.
A few others have gone around this problem in what I consider the best solution, they open in eastern and then close after it is over and re open on the first of May.

This was not a problem last year since “La Semana Santa” (Local name for eastern) was April and the time the hotels had to stay open with out customers was much lower.

Spanish reservation forms

We have continued with translating our reservation form to Spanish.
The latest accommodations that have been translated is the 3 star Hotel La Cala in the centre of the town of Santa Eulalia, Ibiza. La Cala is looking forward to be upgraded shortly to 4 stars.
The only thing they are missing right now to achieve this status is a gym.
The service and food in La Cala are out outstanding, if you read the client reviews you will see we are not the only ones that think so.

Then we have the apartments el Pinar in the spectacular beach of Cala LLonga, about 6 kilometres from the town of Santa Eulalia but still in the towns municipality.
The chain La Sirena runs these apartments, famous for a very familiar and friendly atmosphere.

Last but not least we have the Hotel Miami in Es Cana, about 4 kilometres from Santa Eulalia.
This accommodation is especially family friendly, with a kids club, play ground, sport court, kids pool and much more.

New: Hotel Cala Gracio

We have added yet another accommodation to our portal.
It’s the Fiesta Hotel Cala Gracio in the cove with the same name right next to the Tanit and only 1 Km from the centre of San Antonio.
Far enough from the clubs and bars to have a quiet holiday and sleep well but close enough to walk to the Legendary Café del Mar, the West End or the 2 big discos in San Antonio, Eden and Es Paradis.

The hotel Cala Gracio also offers great Mediterranean gardens that harmonize with the natural surrounding.
A 24 hour reception in case you have a late flight or you want to party till late, if you want explore other parts of the island they also have a car rental service.
However if you want to come in June, July or August we recommend you make your car rental reservation well in advance.

Currency converter

After looking at the country of origin of our clients we saw that over 70% of our clients came from counties were they don’t use the Euro, and all our prices in the reservation forms are given in Euros.
To make it easier to all these customers we have added UK Pounds and US dollars.
The total price and the deposit amount are given in 3 currency’s now. This brings the percent of customers how does not use any of these 3 currency’s down to about 7 %.
This currency conversion rate is updated daily with the European Central Bank.

There has been a growing percent of Americans that visited Ibiza but we have see with the currency converter that the prices are extremely high for them since the dollar has lost so much of it’s value compared to the Euro and the Pound.
This might mean that we will not see that many Americans in Ibiza this summer.

Galeon has installed Wi-Fi

The hotel Galeon in San Miguel has installed Wi-Fi, how ever the wireless internet is just available in common areas like the reception and hall and not in the rooms.

The First one of the new client reviews is for The Mar Amantis in Bay of San Antonio it is written in Spanish and it very negative. The rating is 1 star out of 5 possible stars.

The second review is for The Algarb Hotel in Playa den bossa, witch recently changed owners from the Fiesta hotel chain to the Grupo Playa Sol.
This review is very positive and he enjoyed every minute of it however he says you will not enjoy this accommodation if you are a snob, because they are small details witch are not 100% correct.
He finally gives the Algarb a rating of 5 star out of 5 possible stars.
