Start with the way you market your products and business opportunity.

Words will not convince people to buy your product or get excited about your business. The fewer words you use, the more time you will have to spend on what really counts - getting to know prospects, finding out what they want, and showing them how you can make it happen.
The average commercial on television is thirty seconds. Why? Because that's what works! Any shorter and the advertiser will struggle to make the point; any longer and the viewer will start flicking channels.

How do advertisers create commercials that hit home in such a short time frame? The same way you will create commercials for your business — by focusing on simplicity and impact.
Decide what you want to say and edit your words to bring out the magic. It's not what you leave in, but what you leave out that counts, unless you want to be talking to minds that are closed to incoming traffic.

When you over explain products, you insult your customers' intelligence. If they want to know more they will ask, and they will listen more intently because it interests them. Party planners will find that sales and bookings flow from parties that are lively, informative, and interactive. Too much information will guarantee a stodgy, uninspiring event.

Giving out too much information when you first approach business prospects invites them to make a decision on the spot. Your chance to make a planned presentation, based on their specific interests and circumstances, goes up in smoke.
If words will not convince people to get excited about your business, neither will time.

Keep your business presentations short, ideally no more than forty minutes. Spend the first third getting to know your prospect, the next third sharing the key points of your business based on what you learned. Spend the last third answering questions and deciding on the next move: signing the agreement, scheduling another meeting with a spouse, giving your prospect literature to read and agreeing to follow up the next day, or passing.

Assume that everyone is busy. Always let your prospects know how long the appointment will take. Never exceed that time. People will relax when you respect their space and schedule. Full-time workers will be more willing to meet with you if they know they can meet for a chat over a sandwich and return to work within a one-hour lunch break. You can always schedule a second meeting.

Although it takes work and discipline to make things simple, your efforts will pay dividends when you get results.

Author, Mary Christensen Excerpt from Be a Network Marketing Superstar

http://www.watkinsonline.com/ddemell

How to Stay Focused Working at Home

here are some tips to try to help stay focused while working from home.

Family challenges –

1. Have special activities that only come out when mommy’s on the phone. Consider keeping them in a box in your office for such times.

2. Set the timer for the kids. Let them know that when the timer goes off, mom will play a game or read a story.

3. Trade time for time with another friend who has children your children’s ages to get some work done.

4. When going out for the evening, be sure to tell your kids you are going to WORK (vs. going to do a PARTY). To a child, there is a world of difference!

Neighbors –

When you are working, you are working. If you were at an office outside the home your neighbor wouldn’t just "drop by" for a visit or ask you to accept a delivery. Just explain that you are working and aren’t available to help out. When you treat your job like a job outside the home, others will as well.

Other tips

–1. Make a "to-do" list the night before. We have said it before and will say it again. A list is the key to staying on task. Don’t forget a list of names and phone numbers to make phoning more efficient.

2. One load of laundry a day will change your life (another tip that is an oldie but a goodie). Laundry, dishes and other housework can be done first thing in the morning or late at night. NOT during prime phoning time.
Also, consider hiring a cleaning service. I decided within my first year in the business that I’d much rather go out and do a party one extra evening than to scrub my toilets or iron my husband’s shirts.

3. Schedule your time wisely. Generally speaking, clearing your email isn’t work. Get lost on the Internet late at night or early in the morning. Resist the temptation to leave your email open all day at your desk.

4. Assuming there is another parent at home or someone to keep an eye on the kids, try to shut the door in the room where you are working. Cutting out the distractions will help you to get much more done.

Copyright 2009 by The Success Factory All Rights Reserved

http://www.watkinsonline.com/ddemell

The Gift That Keeps on Giving.....

The Gift that Keeps on Giving… Watkins Business Opportunity

You really don't have to wait for the holiday season to be generous. What better way to fill the soul than to give to others, and what better gift to offer than the Watkins Business Opportunity. There's no doubt, there's a huge need for what we have to offer. Who do you know that could use Watkins in their life?

The Average American:

Did you know the average American spends $108 for every $100 brought home? The average family carries over $8,000 debt on their credit cards alone - OUCH!!! The Census Bureau publishes staggering figures of homeowners defaulting on their mortgage payments, forty seven million Americans have no health insurance and eighteen thousand die each year because they can't afford medical care. Who do you know that could use some help in paying for health care, debt and mortgage?

The Average Family:

The Census Bureau reports that it costs between $130,000 and $300,000 to raise a child. That's before college fees, weddings, bar mitzvahs, etc. Who do you know that could use extra income to put towards an education plan or help with those rising costs of raising children?

The Baby Boomers:

A study conducted by Strategic Guidance Consulting found that Boomers don't plan on adjusting their lifestyles or spending habits in retirement. The reality is most are not prepared. With retirement looming ahead, too many retirees are depending on social security for most of their income. Yikes! In a 2005 Ipsos-Reid survey, 87% of retirees said they wanted to redefine the word "retirement." They no longer view it as a fixed point in time, but as a lifestyle that creates a balance between periods of leisure, family and friends, volunteering, education, and even work. Over 50% of Canadians plan to work in retirement and over 75% of Americans (Merrill Lynch study). Over 50% of those that wish to continue working want to do something different, reinvent their lives, follow their dreams and passions they were never able to pursue before. Who do you know that is preparing for retirement and looking for an opportunity to reinvent their life?

There are options:

The list goes on and on. The fact of the matter is, we have a wonderful gift to help others. You don't have time to wait any longer. The average North American needs your help and they aren't aware of their options.
Give them one, offer them the Watkins business opportunity and make a difference in someone's life today!

http://www.watkinsonline.com/ddemell

Spice Up Your Life to a Healthier & Better You~

Spice Up Your Life to a Healthier & Better You!
Did you know?

Cinnamon

This natural germ-fighter also helps lower blood sugar, triglyceride, and cholesterol levels – ¼ teaspoon a day is a healthy goal. Sprinkle a little cinnamon on your coffee beans, toast, apples, ice cream, cereals, oatmeal, etc.

Thyme

Sprinkle on grilled poultry, fish, and as a meat marinade by virtue of its minty, lemony flavor. Use as a vinaigrette — Yum! RealAge lists thyme as a healthy herb by virtue of its cancer-fighting properties.

Cumin

Concealed in your humble chili powder is one of the world's most popular spices (it's a key ingredient in Indian curries too) and another cancer-fighting soldier. Add cumin to rice and grain salads and marinades.

Oregano

GI's brought oregano home from Italy after WWII. Leaves of this herb boast 42 times more antioxidants than apples. Use oregano to add a delicate flavor to salad dressings, garlic bread, omelets, as well as your favorite pastas.

Research is now showing that these spices we've used for flavorings are nutritionally good for you. How much did your business grow? How much did you grow in your business? It’s not just how much the business did but your own personal and business self-growth.

Have you ever really thought about this? One of the biggest differences between the movers and the shakers in business and the averagae consultant is – the movers and shakers are always analyzing what is happening.

When you’re driving home from your shows are are listening to your favorite CD and singing along – or – are you mentally going over your show and analyzing what worked and what didn’t?
When you get off the phone after making booking calls or customer care calls do you analyze what you said that worked and what you said that didn’t work?

If you really want to be successful in direct sales you need to be constantly and consistently analyzing what you’re doing.
So what happens if you blow it? First, you need to realize that everyone blows itl I remember being asked a question by a guest after the presentation, and being tired, didn’t realize until I was halfway home that the question was really a recruiting question.

I could have beat myself up over "blowing it" or I could analyze the situation and come up with several responses that I could use the next time.
By analyzing the situation and coming up with new responses-even thought I had blown that particular situation-I used that opportunity to grow in my business and be better prepared next time.

Analyze! If you really want your business to grow, take the time to analyze what you are doing. Figure out what works and what isn’t working in your business. Make the changes that are necessary and watch your business grow.

Ruth Fuersten
http://www.booksellrecruit.com/blog

http://www.watkinsonline.com/ddemell

Discounting... yes or no?

The coffee shop had a recent change of owners at the beginning of the year. The new and current owner – we’ll call him Sam – is in a bit of a dilemma. After owning the shop for nearly eight months now – he is hard pressed to realize a profit. Of course there is the normal three to five year ‘curve’ that applies to any new business, except, that this business has been open – with a very established customer base – for over six years.
So…what’s the problem, you may ask.

As in most businesses, there are a variety of contributing factors – including too many Starbuck’s within close proximity. However, a HUGE issue is the practice of discounting for ‘favorite’ customers, established by the previous owner. Sam is now trying to do damage control in order to begin to realize some profit without offending the regular customers. It is a tricky situation to be sure.

I share this story today as food for thought for you and your business. Certainly there may be times when you run special sales for your customers. I would caution the practice of discounting too regularly.

Getting into the habit of discounting does several things:
1) Your customers will begin to balk when you charge full price and only want to buy when they receive a discount.
2) It devalues your product line.
3) As in the case of Sam – it is difficult to reverse once started.
4) MOST IMPORTANTLY – your business is far less profitable when you discount.

As women, sometimes we have difficulty being paid what we are worth. Some of us feel guilty for taking money and therefore "giving a deal" seems like the right thing to do. Men don’t do this. Somehow, they are wired differently – I’m convinced of this. Men don’t apologize for things they didn’t do (ever notice how often women say I’m sorry for something that they had no part in?). Men don’t feel bad about or make excuses for money they are paid for a job done; whether in the form of commissions for sales or fees charged if they are a doctor, lawyer, accountant, etc;. The ‘why’s’ behind this phenomenon is the stuff self-help books are written about and not the subject of today’s tip.

Just remember – you are in business to make money. If you are not in business to make money – then you probably will find yourself with an expensive hobby. Hobbies cost money – businesses make money…period.

Copyright 2009 by The Success Factory All Rights Reserved

http://www.watkinsonline.com/ddemell

Team Meetings... Part 3

Any party is always easier to plan when you have a theme to wrap it around. The same holds true for your team meetings. The following is a potpourri of some themes you might consider using at your next team meeting:

Airplane trip – Set the meeting up as a plane trip. First time attendees get their wings. Have each consultant rank take a role as a pilot, navigator, etc. Put chairs in rows and have flight attendants pass out refreshments and handouts. Great for getting ready for convention!

Scoop Meeting – After convention, plan a meeting where those who attended share the ‘convention scoop’ with everyone else. Everyone brings a topping and ice cream sundaes are served!

Flower Exchange – Have everyone bring a flower or plant to exchange for spring gardens. Every plant is assigned a number and attendees draw a number to identify their new flower!

I Can’t Funeral – Make a shoe box into a black coffin. Everyone wears black. Each person writes down the things they want to do in their business, but feel they can’t do. Then the funeral procession starts and all the "I Can’ts" are buried.

Spring Into Action – Have small pots and packets of seeds available. As part of the meeting, each person says how they are going to plant seeds for the current month in their business. Everyone goes home with a pot and watches it grow!

Fall Harvest - Talk about everything you have done the entire year to work your business, and then talk about what needs to happen to have a big harvest. Decorate with fall plants and pumpkins

Fall Survival – Have a ‘hands on’ get together to assemble hostess and recruiting packets and share quick dinner ideas and recipes.

December meeting ideas – A great time to have an ornament exchange or host a get together with spouses. A white elephant gift exchange makes for a great party mixer!

Copyright 2009 by The Success Factory All Rights Reserved

http://www.watkinsonline.com/ddemell

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://timelessintegrity.blogspot.com/2009/11/team-meetings-part-3.html' title='Team Meetings... Part 2

When planning meetings – it is always easiest if you have a basic "template" and then fill in the blanks. Here is an example of a basic meeting outline:

Introductions (10-15 minutes) – include an icebreaker
Recognition (10-15 minutes) or sprinkled throughout the meeting
Company information folded throughout the meeting (for the benefit of any guests who are in attendance
Product Knowledge (15-20 minutes)
Booking and Selling ideas (10 minutes)
Recruiting information (10 minutes)
CANI – (inspirational or educational) 5-10 minutes
Calendar announcements (5 minutes)
Call to Action and Goal Setting (5 – 10 minutes)
The above agenda adds up to about a 90 minute meeting which is usually just long enough but not too long.

Copyright 2009 by The Success Factory All Rights Reserved

http://www.watkinsonline.com/ddemell

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://timelessintegrity.blogspot.com/2009/11/team-meetings-part-2.html' title='Team Meetings.... Since October 21, 2002, the following guidelines were established by the United States Department of Agriculture's (USDA) National Organic Program (NOP) to assure consumers know the exact organic content of the food they buy.

Single-Ingredient Foods
On foods like fruits and vegetables, look for a small sticker version of the USDA Organic label or check the signage in your produce section for this seal.
The word "organic" and the seal may also appear on packages of meat, cartons of milk or eggs, cheese, and other single-ingredient foods.

Multi-Ingredient Foods
Foods such as beverages, snacks, and other processed foods use the following classification system to indicate their use of organic ingredients.

100% Organic — Foods bearing this label are made with 100% organic ingredients* and may display the USDA Organic seal.

Organic — These products contain at least 95-99% organic ingredients (by weight). The remaining ingredients are not available organically but have been approved by the NOP. These products may display the USDA Organic seal.

Made With Organic Ingredients — Food packaging that reads "Made With Organic Ingredients" must contain 70-94% organic ingredients. These products will not bear the USDA Organic seal; instead, they may list up to three ingredients on the front of the packaging.

Other — Products with less than 70% organic ingredients may only list organic ingredients on the information panel of the packaging. These products will not bear the USDA Organic seal.

Keep in mind that even if a producer is certified organic, the use of the USDA Organic label is voluntary. At the same time, not everyone goes through the rigorous process of becoming certified, especially smaller farming operations. When shopping at a farmers' market, for example, don't hesitate to ask the vendors how your food was grown.
*Salt and water are not included.
Source: Organic.org

http://www.watkinsonline.com/ddemell

Benefits of Shopping with a Work At Home Mom

In this day and age, many mothers are choosing to work from home to help support their families. You can help to support a work from home mom (wahm) by choosing to purchase products from her, instead of those big corporate chain stores.

Let's take a look at how this can benefit you.
1. Customer Service - When you purchase products from a work at home mom, 9 chances out of 10, you will receive one on one customer service. You won't have to call into a switch board and talk to someone who really doesn't care about you. You will find that the majority of women who have a home based business, really dedicate a good portion of their business into providing you with excellent customer service and one on one attention.

2. Convenience - You don't have to waste your time driving to a local department store, fight for a parking space and worse yet...fight the rude crowds and sales clerks that are in the store. You can have your products personally delivered to you by the seller herself or via a alternate shipping method. Shopping from your 'seat' is more convenient than spending a day running around from store to store to find something that you need.

3. Unique Products - Unlike your department stores that all seem to be carrying the same products, you will find women owned home businesses will offer some really unique things that are unavailable in your conventional stores. By purchasing products and services that you need from a work at home mom, you are helping that mother to support her family.

Personally, I find that to be a fantastic thing in this day and age, when large department stores are putting home based business owners and mom and pop stores out of business. You will receive one-on-one personalized service, delivery to your front door and some unique product offerings for yourself or your gift giving needs.

Shelly Hill has been working from home in Direct Sales since 1989 and is a manager with Tupperware. Or, perhaps you would be interested in putting in more of your time to significantly increase your income. What could that do for your family?"
"How would you like to eliminate that bill by working one night a week?" The worst thing that could happen to you is you would have the opportunity to purchase everyday usable products at a minimum of a 25% discount. You purchase groceries every month, right? They will always save money with a Watkins membership... but who cares? If a prospect says "no", ask who they know who might need your product. Increase referrals by offering an incentive, such as a free product or gift certificate.

If someone sends you a new customer, show your appreciation by thanking them. At the very least send a note. Rewarding them with product, lunch, or just a cup of coffee wouldn't hurt and will turn them into your personal prospecting machine!

TWO MAGIC PHRASES

When you've established that your prospect has a need, say: "I have something that I think could help you. Would you like to hear more?"
If your prospect isn't sure and you want to find out why, or they have an objection that you want to "flush out," ask, "What do you need to know to make a decision?"

BE PREPARED

Here's a great testimonial/example of the power of being prepared and making yourself visible from Manager, Pegge Tennant:
"Yesterday, when I was shopping in Lancaster County I went through the drive-thru to make a deposit. The teller said she was so glad to see me, and that she would bring my receipt out front to me personally. I wondered what she was talking about, because I didn't know her. But, I pulled around front to meet her. She told me she was out of cinnamon and was so glad to see the Watkins Lady. Then I remembered that I had the magnetic Watkins signs on the side of the car, and it was Watkins she wanted, not me. How nice. She asked for catalogs, which I always carry. I also had samples of cinnamon and pepper and a few other things, which I gave to her. She said she had bought cinnamon at a fair a couple of years ago, and when she ran out, she went to the grocery store and bought another brand. When she got home and smelled the new cinnamon, it smelled so bland that she refused to use it. She mentioned to a fellow worker about it at the bank, and they told her to just wait and watch, that a Watkins lady banks at the bank, and she would come through the drive-thru soon. And, I did. She is interested in becoming an Associate. So, I will see her again next week."

"This is how you grow your business. Make it known that you represent Watkins products. Always have your catalogs and samples with you and give them out with a smile. Also, carry a prospecting package with a sign-up form. Be sure to take and keep names and phone numbers. Names and phone numbers are our business. And then, watch your business grow day-by-day, month-by-month, year-by-year. I started sampling it by putting it into an icing bag and piping it onto Teddy Grahams while wearing gloves. Most small craft fairs don't mind if you sample food if you ask and do it in a safe manner.

So for one, just having something edible at my booth drew people in. Two, they were informed that Watkins had Pumpkin Butter for the season. Three, it cleared up any confusion about pumpkin butter not actually containing any butter. And four, once they tasted it, it was sold! I sold no less than 10 jars of Pumpkin Butter in a few hours at a fair.

I've discovered that you have to tell people or make signs to tell people about products. If they don't know it exists, they sure can't try it!

Which reminds me of one more tip I have... if you have a booth or table at a fair or trade show and you are selling bread/cookie mixes, put a sticker on them with what kind they are. If people just see gold packages sitting there in a pile, they aren't appealing and no one will inquire about them (except the really curious and loyal Watkins customers of course)."
— Nicole Miller, Independent Watkins Bronze Consultant

http://www.watkinsonline.com/ddemell

Remember the Power of One

If you recruit just one person a month, and teach each of them to recruit just one a month, you'll have 2,048 at the end of the year!

Don't give up early: most of them join in the last few months. After 6 months you have only 32, but in month 7, the 32 become 64. In month 8, 64 become 128. In month 9, 128 become 256, and so on.

Maximize your Networking Effectiveness:

go where your customers and prospects go, or are likely to be.

How to Be a Successful Networker:

Create a great 5 second commercial that engages your audience and encourages them to ask more questions so that you, in turn, can ask them questions that will allow you to qualify the prospect. For example, when someone asks you what you do, try responding with "I teach people how to create green & healthy living spaces."
Your willingness to dedicate the time it takes to do it and be excellent at it.
A plan of where and when.

Best Places to Network:

Get involved with a charity or be a community volunteer. Everything from the United Way, CancerCare, the symphony, the list is endless.

Trade shows. These can be the best networking venue of them all giving you a great opportunity to meet new people and expand the awareness of Watkins products.

Parents of your children's friends.

Neighborhood homeowner's association/condo association. Get to know your neighbors and who they know.

Ask for referrals.
It's 7 times easier to get referrals from existing customers than it is to find a new one! If a prospect says "no", ask who they know who might need your product. Increase referrals by offering an incentive, such as free product or a gift certificate.

Chamber of Commerce business event after hours. Great for creating new contacts and renewing old friendships. Your local Chamber of Commerce is one of your best local networking sources.

A networking club or business organization where solid business contacts belong and participate.
Someplace like-minded people belong.

Your college alumni club, any sports clubs/associates, sporting events, the gym, yoga classes, book clubs, recipe swap clubs, cooking clubs, private clubs, golf clubs, and the list goes on.

Any type of class you take to learn more and make yourself better. Continuing education programs, Toastmasters, etc.

A civic organization. Rotary, Kiwanis, etc.

Attend a cultural event. Take in a show and meet new friends. What a fun way to grow your business.

Wherever you end up networking, make sure you're always ready. 90% of success is showing up prepared. Having your commercial ready to share at a moment's notice is key to your skill and success.

http://www.watkinsonline.com/ddemell

Living Naturally Facts

For the next few editions of Watkins Enews, we would like to share some interesting sales facts regarding natural and organic products.

Organic product sales have increased 17.1% over 2007 which is $24.6 billion dollars. Without them, you wouldn't be in business. High quality customer service is something most businesses promise but fail to deliver. If you mistreat your customers by providing service which is slow, indifferent or unreliable, you jeopardize keeping that asset.

Today's customers are more savvy and knowledgeable than ever before. They shop around for the best price and service. Products are not sold just on their intrinsic use and value but on the quality of the service promised and delivered.
A customer may be difficult and unrealistic, but it is up to you to keep that customer happy, if you want to keep that customer.
When was the last time your customers said, "WOW", from the service your provided? If you can put the "WOW" into your business, you will have a very competitive edge and genuine results will follow.

Here are five ideas which can make a difference.

Develop, through studying the resources available to you (System for Success, Product Profile Pages), the skills and knowledge you require to properly present the total Watkins experience. Whether educating your customers about the wonderful Watkins products or offering the Home Business Opportunity to a prospect, that comprehensive preparedness is what will set you apart from the competition and will make your customers and prospects take note and say "WOW!" Become totally knowledgeable about the Watkins product line. Always mention that "Satisfaction Guarantee," the money saving aspect of Watkins products, the great range of products and the convenience of "to the door delivery." Tell everyone you meet about your Watkins business. Don't keep it a secret.

Develop a style and level of service which will so impress your customers they will tell others about you. "Word of mouth" referrals from satisfied customers are the cheapest and best form of advertising. Call them and remind them that their favorite product is on sale or the laundry detergent they use is featured. Every so often give them a $1.00/$2.00 discount coupon and thank them for their continued business. Occasionally give them a small Watkins gift and say thanks. In other words — spoil them. They are important... let them know it!

Listen to your customers and identify their needs. Solicit feedback from your customers. Never argue with them. They truly are always right. One angry or unsatisfied customer can spread the wrong word ten times faster than ten satisfied customer. Always honor the "Guarantee." Give the full refund before you ask why they were dissatisfied. That way they will not feel you are trying to dissuade them. Ask if the customer enjoyed the new products. Listen to their responses. If any dissatisfaction occurred, offer a full refund. Ask if they have any ideas about new products. If they do, notify the company and then let the customer know you have passed their ideas on to Watkins. Truly LISTEN. You will be amazed at what you can pick up from them. Usually, what they say will open opportunities to sell additional products.

Offer specials — bundlings/groupings. Buy 5 get the sixth one free. Buy $75 worth of products and receive a free Watkins product that is new in the line that you'd like them to try and get feedback on. When delivering or making a sales call, take a selection of products and offer 10% discount for "cash & carry." Do the same at the order table at parties - add ons.

Exceed your customers' expectations. Let your customer know they are important. Take them a flower with their order. Give them a special gift around the Holiday Season. Be willing to take them the one product they desperately need late on a Saturday afternoon. In other words, SPOIL THEM and continuously improve your level of service.

Service may be intangible, but its rewards are the concrete dollars you deposit in your bank account at the end of the day. Do all the above and you will WOW your customers and create "Customers For Life!"

http://www.watkinsonline.com/ddemell

ABC's of Working a Direct Sales Home Business

Are you looking into joining a Direct Sales Company? We recommend giving yourself an entire year for this ‘out of the box’ thinking.

1) Change your ‘norm’ by raising the bar.

2) Keep in mind that only one in ten people will say ‘yes’ to joining.

3) For your organization to grow, you need to make a goal to recruit at least 24 new people personally over the next year. That is just two a month. Recruiting half that number (one a month) and your team will end up exactly where it was at the beginning of the year due to normal attrition – taking into account consultants who leave the business or change their level of commitment.

4) Remember – your ‘year’ can begin anywhere you want it to begin. Why not start right now – while we are at the beginning of the fourth quarter of our busiest time of year?

Things to do to promote strong personal and team recruiting:

Front end load your "year" (EASY to do when you are meeting so many people right now!)

Help your team to front end load as well.

Take a look at the vehicles you are providing to your team. Think about what you can help organize and facilitate:

Fairs
Fundraisers
Ads (the more who participate – the more money available to run a bigger/longer running ad).
Get good at asking for referrals and train your team to do the same.
Piggyback – NEVER walk alone – treat each event you do as a training opportunity…bring a team member with you!

When coaching team members – save time by using three way calling or free teleconferencing services.
PREQUALIFY recruit potentials by asking them:
"Is there anyone else who you will need to talk to about this?"

"Please talk with them and tell them why you are interested in doing this." (remind them what their reason is - example;…you wanted to be able to take care of that car payment, you wanted to be able to purchase our products at a discount and know your friends will love them too, you want a work at home option…) If you have been listening well when the prospect was selling YOU on why she would be good at this she will have let you know what her reason for getting involved is!

"He (she) will probably ask you some specific questions – please bring these questions to the appointment with you."

At the recruiting appointment – once paperwork has been completed – have new team members immediately make a list of the top ten people who they know will be interested in what they are doing and ask them who they will call first.
Follow up with them the next day to help with any questions and to keep them excited about their decision to join.

Copyright 2009 by The Success Factory All Rights Reserved

http://www.watkinsonline.com/ddemell

Happy Thanksgiving!

Today is our Canadian Thanksgiving weekend. This becomes the job description of what you are looking for in a potential consultant.

Make a mental shift and start to think of yourself as an ambassador recruiter. By definition an ambassador is an authorized messenger or representative. Consider your main job to be finding good people for your company – using your job description – and this will help you get the focus off of your own goals.

Work like a corporate recruiter. Instead of working hard to convince someone to join the business what would happen if you used the following script instead?

"Working from home takes a lot of self-discipline. Let me tell you what we’re looking for. We are looking for someone who is self-motivated and interested in (fill in the mission of your company). Tell me a little about what YOU are looking for and then we will see if this seems like a good match."
