tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-575155011313516413.post-67951661094214186472007-12-11T07:42:00.000-08:002007-12-11T07:39:21.752-08:00December Social Action News<FONT FACE="Geneva, Verdana, Helvetica, Arial"><SPAN STYLE='font-size:12.0px'>Contact person: &nbsp;Ed Kearns<BR> <BR> The Coffeehouse on November 17 was a big success, raising $130 after expenses. &nbsp;This money helped to provide Personal Care Holiday Gift bags for inmates at Oklahoma&#8217;s Mabel Bassett Women&#8217;s Maximum Security Prison. &nbsp;These gift bags contain basic items such as shampoos and lotions that the state &nbsp;prison system will not provide.<BR> <BR> The Norman Christmas Holiday Parade is set for 10 AM Saturday, December 8. &nbsp;&nbsp;Our entry for the parade is being organized by Aimee Rook, so please call her at 360-3756 if you wish to participate.<BR> <BR> NUUF currently has two Christmas charity collection drives running concurrently. &nbsp;<BR> 1) &nbsp;Please bring your children&#8217;s old toys to Sunday service to be wrapped for &nbsp;the children at the JD McCarty Center, Oklahoma&#8217;s &#8220;center of excellence&#8221; &nbsp;for children with developmental disabilities and other special needs.<BR> 2) Please bring your old clothes to Sunday service for Food and Shelter for &nbsp;Friends, a Norman-based charity that feeds hungry persons and provides &nbsp;shelter to homeless families, allowing them the chance to become self- sufficient.<BR> <BR> Donations will be accepted at NUUF through Sunday, December 16.</SPAN></FONT> -noreply@blogger.com
