Dreamt this guy the other day and sketched him down immediately because he simply looked so weird. He was kinda this creepy voodoo guy with a staff and a stretchy out-of-this-world anatomy who lived in a big ass cave in the desert. And when he made magic it was all swirly and extreme purple/yellow complementary color scheme.

The semester is now over and I've already started working. I had to do a couple of paintings for my Color&Design class, one mandala and one final project. Worst part about gouache paintings is that the colors get so botched when transferred to digital media.

My mandala project was inspired by the myth of Fenrisulfur. Here it is non-matted (the matted version can be seen on my website).

For my final project, I decided to do some 'concept' work from a story of mine. The tribal bunny style has been changing rapidly, and these characters are only work in progress. The final designs are very different from these. However, it was fun and a pain in the ass to paint. I love gouache painting, it's just the color mixing that takes such a long time (for me at least).

sorry about not uploading for a while. Been very busy with school. Just a couple of final projects left and then I'm done :) I have a bunch of sketches and drawings to upload, they'll be uploaded in a week or so (don't have time to scan it till then) ^^

Here are some sketches done with Prisma markers I did while waiting for my lunch. I hadn't touched my Prisma markers for a long while, I had forgotten how much I loved them :)

I just hear that line from Little Britain every time I see this picture. A classmate of mine commented on how 'prissy' the viking was. Hoho.

Anyway, final projects have already started in some classes, so lots going on! I really hope they'll turn out the way I envision them :)

and a coat study. Not brilliant but at least making some progress. I have problems getting that clean line look with the charcoal, because I'm always a messy sketcher. Any tips?

checking out one of my old hd's, I found a lot of stuff I had forgotten about. One of them was this flash animation I intended to do with the song "12 days of Christmas" .. which never got completed. It's funny to see such old and crummy animation X) Here are a few of them.. this was done in 2004 I believe...

I've been asked a lot why I didn't include my animations in my new website. The simple answer to that is that I felt they were too old to showcase. I'll include a link to them on this blog later.

yay for spring break! After two all nighters in a row to get the deadline, I have now been blessed with sore throat. awesomeness.

Gonna use spring break to work, finish coloring stuff (comic included) and clean. To get myself into gear, I colored an old sketch in photoshop :P Till later! =)

sorry about updating for a while. Real life events stepped in so I've been very tired and the free time I can get is basically used for schoolwork.

Anywho, midterms! Yay... Here is some schoolwork from previous weeks.

concept work for Digital Illustration.. tribal bunnies find children's meat very succulant.. Needs a few changes before I'll start painting it though.

Color Theory class is interesting and has some fun stuff. We had to choose a few words and depict them in a design, but no figures or known symbols were allowed. These two were 'exuberant' and 'mysterious'.

uuh.. what the title says.

edit: Also, because people have been tagging me I'll post this as well.

1. I go to art school but am nowhere near getting my BFA just yet. Reason being cruel student loan limits and terrible currency exchange rate :(

2. I'm a dual citizen: Icelandic and US. I can move my ass to the US and work when- and wherever I want.
3. I'm a nerd and feel most at ease when situated in front of my computer or art supplies
4. I started fiddling with Photoshop at the age of 13.
5. I grew up watching Disney cartoons and reading Donald Duck comics. My career had basically been set from birth.
6. One day, I really want to publish a self-written comic/graphic novel
7. Also, have my name in the credits list of an awesome movie (animated or live-action)
8. I love watching documentaries
9. I don't like Iceland. It's cold and boring. You can actually see my personality changing as soon as I get into a warmer (and more stable) climate.
10. I miss San Francisco :(
11. I'm tiny. About 5,1"-5,2"
12. I cannot live without coffee
13. I love animals, and can't think of life without pets
14. One of my dream pets is a piebald ball python.. but sadly, reptiles (along with other exotic animals) are illegal in Iceland.
15. Another dream pet is a german shepherd, though I doubt my lifestyle will ever be stable enough to own a dog :P
16. I'm a healthfreak and am very cautious of what I put into my body. I do however allow myself things like candy and drinking, but in moderation.
17. I love everything japanese and one day I'm going to travel to Japan for AT LEAST a month.
18. I own a cat who can open doors, drawers and basically knows what to do to piss me off so he can get what he wants.
19. I'm a huge introvert but when I feel more at ease with people I let my guard down
20. School has really made me appreciate life drawing and I'm very happy with my progress so far. But not happy enough ;)
21. I better get a well paid job after school because the student loan debt will be humongous
22. I love cars; that is, sports and muscle cars. Bugatti Veyron mmmm ~~
23. When not drawing, I like to watch a good movie or chill out reading
24. I prefer online messengers and e-mail as opposed to using cell phones
25. I really want to experience a real Halloween in the US
