It was one of the most iconic and heart-stopping movie images of 2003: the Columbia Space Shuttle ignited, burning and crashing to earth in fragments.

Now, amazingly, data from a hard drive recovered from the fragments has been used to complete a physics experiment - CXV-2 - that took place on the doomed Shuttle mission.

Greetings Fellow Lightpilots...

So what can we expect from this second week of the first Lunar Cycle of 2008? The Moon's second quarter is where we utilize the power of Metaversal Mind, Water, the kabbalistic world of Briah, the Pattern, through the medium of our Emotional and Mental bodies. Since Briah is the realm of Gods and Faeries, Angels and Goddess's, Images and Symbols, Visions and Voices, we can expect nothing less than knowledge and conversation with the patterns of our deep Selves, what Carl Jung calls "aspects of The Self. The unified, self-organizing entity we are expressions of". To understand Briah, the World of Pattern, we have to talk about Daath (Hebrew for knowledge). Gnosis, from Greek, also means knowledge. Gnosticism, Sufism, Kabballah are based in Daath. Daath is the Divine FatheR and MotheR eternally united in the activity of the ooh la la… sexual force, always in Yesod. The Holy IaooaI understand that within the Lightcraft are the Father and the Son, joy riding essentially, because they have the key. Who gave them the key? I did. Do not expect curb service with the new model of our solar system that we have now, because it is a mechanical model.

The most obvious pattern to seize at present: Sun square Jupiter. Here ego and belief systems collide. Maybe someone tells you what you should do. Should the order not agree with one’s beliefs about one’s aspirations and talents that idea gets ground faster than a MD Super 80 aircraft. Far better they ask for your participation in a mutually aligned effort. The more subtle element in this pattern comes from the Sun’s conjunction with Eris. Eris, of course, is the "I don’t want to use that dwarf planet. It's so small. Besides, it upsets my system of interpretation." To which Eris responds, "Too bad. If you won’t use me, you can’t use Pluto because of the same rationale." Eris also underlines, emblazons in bold and increases font size and color to grab your attention to the idea that if an idea is big, progressive and life-changing in a good way, the discord in the short term is far worth it. Better that than the battle of the turf of the psyche in which one fights off the nagging demons of "You shudda, cudda (should of, could of)."

I heard from the clouds that Eris is our hyperlink into heavenly aspiration. There’s yet another subtlety to the Sun-Jupiter square. Jupiter now engages continues to activate as the year advances, the notable black hole system SS433. This fabulous anomaly declares that one must balance and reset one’s etheric body and auric field. If that’s a head scratcher, how about adopting a simple week on/week off energy expenditure cycle? One week you can power out, amping up on everything and pushing with balance maximum thrust. The next week, ease back on the throttles to allow the slower responding mundane plane to catch up. As well, you can catch up on rest. In a similarly energy conscious manner Mars in Cancer now passes the dog star, Sirius. Known in Hopi tradition as a potent star of emotional cleansing, the message states, apply some energy to clearing out emotional reactions, extreme sensations and hyperboles in the realm of reactions. Pump the psychic bilges based in the stomach and restore the accuracy of your belly barometer. Feel, clear, then react. Reaction in a fear-based, sensation-driven psyche-set might actually work against one’s greater well being. Oh yeah, eat decent chow. Without fuel to burn, your body crashes and goes more to the haywire side of reacting with promising planetary signatures. Once again we have the Trans-Neptunian Object and possible dwarf planet, Ixion, moving back to the Great Attractor. While the story of Ixion is one of those icky mythologies, the gist of his message indicates when a second chance appears, apply consciousness, experience and available energy into making something more of the opportunity than you did last time. As those compelling forces tug on your sensibilities asking if you should make another run at the thing that you believed you missed out on before, clear emotional decks and however you handled the situation before, do it differently now.

We can assume that far-fetched ideas assisted by Jupiter and Pluto in Capricorn and Saturn in Virgo, make more sense now and appear far more fetching to those in funding and development arenas.The hopefully soon to be named dwarf planet and ultra cool yet fiery in symbolism Kuiper Belt enigma 2003 EL61 now aligns in longitude with the revelatory Sombrero Galaxy. Observation of this galaxy early last century revealed the nature of red shift of light, confirmed galaxies external to our own and provided the needed verification such that we could safely conclude our Metaverse expands. Given our discoveries beyond Pluto since 2003, we have located a body that orbits our Sun and is to be an included member of the solar system that take more than 32,500 years to complete a revolution! If my math is right, this means the known breadth of our solar system has expanded nearly 50 times!! So much more space to fill with our consciousness - how cool is that? Think of this personally. Reach out to embrace all there is to understand. Disregard no bit of valid information or inspiration. Such an application of course pleases the Sun-Jupiter pattern and it delights Eris as new ideas enter the mix and upset the apple carts of stagnation and status quo.

Now I offer that last notation with some reserve. Jupiter soon (April 24 direct, May 24 retrograde) aligns with a bipolar erupting black hole system, retrograding virtually in alignment with it and then working with this trigger through December 1. Since this black hole is reasonably close and very luminous, note those things shiny on immediate horizons. One of its messages (here’s the part requiring caution) suggests that you can always find the resources to do what you need to do. Now, I’m not saying splurge and spend crazily quickly falling into a black hole of debt. It’s tax time in the U.S. and even with the puny promised rebate we find ourselves, like our international co-travelers on planet Earth, pressed to keep up with rising petrol costs that exceed our increasing awareness of the width of our solar system. I am saying it’s time to plan, prepare and budget. Find a way not to short circuit needed tools of project development or consciousness enhancement. Find a way to propagate the ultimate Eris declaration: Create a quality of life worth living. So much writing will be on the wall these days, and though it may be hard to perceive, symbolically, the Metaverse may have to pass an anti-graffiti law. Then you may see in Briah, through crystal windows, Johannes on the back of a gigantic manta ray surging through primordial waves in a sea blasted by silent lightning. And you will leave Briah and walk out into the streets and valleys of the world, but it will never leave you.

SATURNSDAY, APRIL 12
The Day of the Sun in the Week of Water. Between dark and light the angles of times are best manifest at their balance, so invoke Apollo, Ra, Elvis, or the baby-faced Sun god from the Teletubbies into your heart Chakra this morning. Our Qabalistic thunderbolt of revelation resembles a corkscrew in more ways than one. Honor Saturn today by creating greater stability in the Metaverse, actively expressing or experiencing your security needs, and cleansing and strengthening your base Chakra. How good is "good enough"? While Saturn transits through Virgo, you can always do it better, unravel another detail, figure out a fine point, edit expert information, brush up on your skills, and catalog your body of work. You can take the details more seriously and improve your skills. How much perfection is possible? If polishing what is already polished starts to seem tedious, you may find you have sacrificed your creativity for the illusion of perfection. While professional polish and attention to important details can help to refine your work and communicate your ideas more clearly, absolute perfection is never possible, everything is always a work in progress. Feeling you are never good enough because you are not perfect enough can stifle your imagination, stop your creative flow, and lower your self-esteem. Too much focus on perfection can make your work more forgettable than inspired. The Cancer Moon moves into it’s first quarter phase at 11:32 a.m. and also goes void of course for the day. A deep conversation or healing transmission can spark a genius moment, when Mercury sextiles Chiron this evening. A Talmudic scholar was describing to me, with laudable but boring erudition, during his metacognitive sojourn in my flotation tank that the transiting North Node in Aquarius will call us to celebrate diversity and create community; the South Node in Leo will prod us to release self-centeredness and inequity. That guy could charm a snake from a cat’s vagina just by snoring.

The Lunar center, and its intimate connection with the Holographic Image Projection System, is not only the foundation for the astral plane, but is the fiery aspect of astral energy itself. Overestimating or overreaching is far to easy, as Mercury squares Jupiter this morning. The Day of Mars in Waterweek. When Mars is retrograde we are nudged to resolve unfinished business -- old wounds, old resentments, old flames, anything still smoldering -- so we could move forward. Mars in Cancer teaches us that when we suppress our feelings, we also block our ability to realize what we really need. Our psycho-sexual Martian juice can be used now to achieve balance in our relationships with others or this same energy can turn back on itself in a destructive, distorted shadow play which causes our descent into the turbulent waters of emotional repression. Which way you gonna go? I say, go forth boldly into the world today and actively create the future. Avoid conflict or word wars with lovers, roommates or others you encounter these days. You yourself may become overly touchy. Watch out for petty ego problems along these lines. Is your Martian energy burning like a fuel tank on a crashed jumbo jet in the Algerian desert? Or burning like a sputtering flame on a wet candle? Or burning steady like a presto-log in the hearth of the Almighty? It all depends on the quality of your fuel, and the proper fuel/air ratio. When your body (93 percent seawater) is nourished by fiery insight, MA'AT has been achieved. Then your fire is not frightening and lethal, but glowing with placid contentment. The Day of Mercury in the kabbalistic World of Water, Briah. Mercury's function is to communicate. To think. To know. To reason. Language is his playground. The Akasic Library is his home. And oh yes, Hermes is a Love god. He likes the sound of his own voice. Write a poem, a sonnet, or some erotica today and them transmit that information to at least one other person. Healthy Mercury in Aries operates from inspired, intuitive, decisive, courageous, and spontaneous action before the logical mind has time to get in the way. When Aries is operating from its healthy instinctual, intuitive nature they are naturally aligned with right action. Sun conjuncts Mercury today. This is a bright aspect that should find everyone bubbly and talkative, if not a little confused. Everyone will want to talk about themselves, so it 's not the time to find a good listener. Fast clear thinking can make business efforts effective. The Moon continues its journey through Virgo today further energizing the sacred patterning of life on the level of underworld old growth to which we've manage to slide into. The Earth Hare, Uri, is like a unique rabbit in our solar system, having just one Moon and one golden Sun, and a smile means friendship to everyone, with each seasonal cycle, ruled by Gabe, Ralph and Michael and the Solstices and Equinoxes. The Metaverse has its own unique rabbit rhythm as it moves through our headspace, and let me tell ya, they is us. A hellava productive day for sure.

I have a young friend named Annie whom I've known since she was a 'lil girl age 5. She used to perform with Big City Orchestra and the Haters. She's all "growed-up" now, is attending college, has recently visited Thailand and has a LiveJournal (so I just found out from her mum). I've been thoroughly enjoying reading through it...

Here's a poem Annie found that I think is quite delightful:

I'm in Love with the Morton Salt Girl

I want to pour salt in her hair and watch
her dance. I want to walk her through the
salt rain and pretend that it is water. I want to

I want to stand in line for hours to see her walk on in
the middle of a movie only to have the film break and watch salt

THE DECEMBER TERRAIN

With new precision, the winter days return. There is something exquisitely flexible about the way you look at me between those big blue ice sculptures. A candle flame flickers, casts its granular light upon the deserted deck of a whaling ship. Neuro-accretions in soft tryptamine sleep. Wherever the stage disappears in blackness, you can be sure a caboose is snowed under. New truths. New realities. This month's offers big tailwinds for transformation. At the heart of our Milky Way Galaxy lies a super-massive Black Hole, four million times larger than our Sun, which not only absorbs but also transmits enormous amounts of electromagnetic energy. On December 5, Jupiter conjoins the Galactic Center (GC), amplifying the activations generated by Pluto's GC alignments, which began last December. Pluto, and now Jupiter, aligning with the GC provides tremendous energetic support for releasing old patterns and beliefs and coincides with an even greater evolutionary change that has been identified by many as the Mayan End Times, the Hopi Fifth World, the Turning of the Ages, Timewave Zero, the Ascension, and the Great Awakening. These prophecies signal that humanity is in the process of making a dimensional shift, from the limited perception of duality to a collective awareness of our inherent divinity and interconnectedness. Metaversal consciousness.

When any celestial body lines up with the GC, it focalizes the radio, infrared, and other electromagnetic rays streaming from the galactic core, making it easier to erase old programming and remember who we really are. Lightcraft seems paradoxical in that the main body of its information was given to our present selves by our future Self in order to load the dice in favor of its own manifestation. One of the reasons this happened is that we are on our own for the present. The benign influences of the older races have been suspended for this coming-of-age Initiation ordeal that we’re experiencing. We are allowed to talk to ourself, however. Time’s arrow only applies to the physical Metaverse. Once an event has happened in this sphere, it’s frozen into the Order of Mainstream Reality and cannot “unhappen”. Information can be exchanged on levels other than the physical, and isn’t limited by Time’s arrow. Our future conscious Self is aware of its tentative nature from our present. By giving its ancestors certain ideas and techniques, the Metaverse insures its own manifestation(s). This is possible only because the Metaversal mutation can be activated in any individual by that individual. The hardware and the program are in place for Metaversal consciousness to appear. Some children have been born with it, some adults have activated it through Magick/Lightcraft. A simple majority of 51% of living humans with Light specific consciousness will trigger its activation in the remaining minority. The element of uncertainty in the project lies in the race against catastrophe.

Can we achieve this new level of consciousness soon enough to avert total environmental disaster? That which can be thought of can be done, on one plane or another. Lightcraft works where time behaves differently than it does in the physical world. In some spheres, time is subsumed in eternity; in others, time is looped and cut up, un-sequenced into effective Chaos. One of the talents typical of Metaversal consciousness is that of time-travel, an art that is practiced on the astral planes and in more rarefied realms. Possibilities for quantum leaps continue as the Sun makes its annual alignment with the GC on December 18. It will be hard to deny the connection between you and every other thing in the Metaverse this month. The gravitational intensity of the GC is so strong it bends light around itself, permitting a view of what lies behind it. Even hidden cards can be seen. An instantaneous intuitiveness lingers in the GC. There’s an amazing rich cogent sense, should one tune into the energy light show titillating all chakras, of what truly surrounds a body in the immediate environment. The energy is massive, intense and with the broadness of the GC’s far-reaching spectrums, palatable to all.

The New Moon on December 9 reminds us of the power of belief and the power that lies within each of us. That languor which envelops but never quite annihilates. This New Moon at 17º16' Sagittarius is potentized by at least four different factors. Not only are the Sun and Moon in Sagittarius, but Mercury, Jupiter, and Pluto as well. Sagittarius is symbolized by the Archer, aiming for the heavens, for the point and purpose of life. We crank our elfin motors and sidestep the dimensional voom. The Sun's conjunction with the Galactic Attractor (a quasar-like anomaly with titanic gravitational forces at 14º Sagittarius) on December 6 and square to Uranus at 15º Pisces on December 7 adds to the impetus to “think different” and live our truth I bet you’ll wanna establish a rococo nerve lattice among the quarantined survivors of Operation: Rapture, just two days after this New Moon, because Jupiter, the planetary ruler of Sagittarius, forms an exact conjunction with Pluto at 28º24' Sagittarius. The mythic Sky God and the Lord of the Underworld rendezvous only once every thirteen years; their last conjunction was on December 2, 1994 at 28º26' Scorpio. Jupiter promotes optimism and abundance, as well as hubris and overindulgence. Pluto stimulates obsession and fear, as well as profound understanding and transformation. Their conjunction sparks major revelations and reformations as fundamental assumptions are challenged, hypocrisies exposed, and priorities reordered. . I can’t help but be enchanted by Pluto’s malevolent charm. A thrashing contrapulition. It’s beautiful and it’s coming this way.

On December 17, the transiting lunar nodal axis shifts from Pisces/Virgo to Aquarius/Leo, where it remains until August 21, 2009. The transiting North Node symbolizes our current spiritual frontier; the South Node, what is ready to be recovered, released, or revamped. The transiting lunar nodes spend 1.5 years in each polarity; the last time they were in Aquarius/Leo was from May 22, 1989 to November 18, 1990. Leo is the sign of the individual; Aquarius, the sign of the group or collective. A Talmudic scholar was describing to me, with laudable but boring erudition, during his metacognitive sojourn in my flotation tank that the transiting North Node in Aquarius will call us to celebrate diversity and create community; the South Node in Leo will prod us to release self-centeredness and inequity. That guy could charm a snake from a cat’s vagina just by snoring. Since eclipses occur close to the transiting lunar nodes, five of the next six eclipses will be in Aquarius/Leo, further highlighting these signs. Eclipse degrees remain sensitive for some time; this New Moon squares the last solar eclipse (which occurred on September 11 at 18º25' Virgo) and urges us to take further action on what was initiated three months ago. On December 18, Jupiter enters Capricorn, where it will remain until January 5, 2009. The last time Jupiter transited Capricorn was from January 3, 1996 to January 21, 1997. That period saw limits placed on nuclear weapons testing, welfare reform in the United States, the Taliban takeover in Afghanistan, the Kurdish campaign for independence from Turkey, and peace in Bosnia. Jupiter in Capricorn often coincides with changes in ethics and government: During its previous passages through Capricorn, "moral majority" conservative Ronald Reagan was elected U.S. president in 1984, and the Watergate investigations began in 1972.

There goes another crocodile. It’s behind the stove. It will never know the joys of getting a driver’s license or seeing its grandchildren walk the plank. On December 19, Saturn, the ruling planet of Capricorn, stations retrograde at 8º34' Virgo. Saturn remains retrograde until May 2, 2008, when it turns direct at 1º41' Virgo; its shadow point, when it again reaches 8º34' Virgo, is August 8, 2008. Saturn's retrograde phase in Virgo supports simplifying, improving, or eliminating anything that has become unessential and unproductive. Less can be more these days ó less hassle, less expense, and less stress. Saturn represents the principle of concentration, definition, and manifestation. The lord of the Secrets of Time also reminds us of the importance of responsibility and maturity. We are the masters of our fate and accountable for our actions. Saturn is approaching a trine to the Sun (exact on December 30 at 8º27' Virgo), so it extends its sobering restraint through the holiday season.

On December 20, the Sun makes its yearly conjunction with Pluto (at 28º44' Sagittarius, close to the Galactic Center at 27º Sagittarius), enters Capricorn on the 21st, and then forms an exact conjunction with Jupiter on the 22nd (1º Capricorn). These three shifts amplify and prolong the powerful effect of the Jupiter-Pluto conjunction. A Jupiter-Pluto combination can generate either egomania or philanthropy, galvanizing tremendous personal drive or the redistribution of wealth and power, as subtle as a polka-dot tank on a moor.

The December Full Moon highlights Cancer and Capricorn, the two signs most concerned with our personal life and our contribution to society. Cancer deals with our inner child; Capricorn, with our inner adult. What do we need? What must we have in order to grow? Are you prepared to succumb to minutiae? Or are you just bestride the geyser, dopily entranced? In either case we must ask you to return to your assigned position. Like this month's New Moon, the influence of the December Full Moon is also intensified by several species of meaty factors. That fact that the Full Moon forms just after the Winter Solstice adds to its potential for important revelations and shifts. The Full Moon period (which is not just the peak of the Full Moon, but several days before and after) is further energized by Mars' conjunction with the Moon and by Mars' oppositions to Mercury in Capricorn (December 22, 3º25'), the Sun (December 24, 2º36')), Jupiter (December 26, 1º49')), and Pluto in Sagittarius (exact January 2, 2008 at 29º12' Gemini-Sagittarius). Mars aspects shorten fuses and sharpen tongues.

While retrograde (November 15, 2007 to January 30, 2008), Mars is at perigee, its closest approach to the Earth, increasing the impetus for courage or bravado, assertion or aggression. Retrograde in Cancer, Mars advises us to examine our motivations and our tactics closely before taking action. What do we really need? Are we sidestepping the real issues? Better to strike while still asleep, in order to maintain an alibi. During this holiday season, give yourself the gift of being extra kind to yourself. A cherubic barking up the wall loosens the paint enough that we can read the inscriptions underneath; however, we have discovered to our surprise and delight that we would rather just eat the paint as it peels away like the skin of a blank but meaning-filled chrysalis, the unscripted flesh of the years...

Hey-hey, anyone still dropping by Ollapodrida lately? I finally have time to update!

Well... I'm sure if you have you've noticed no new posts since before BCO left for our Europe tour in September. Believe it or not, there are GOOD reasons for the blank pages here, mainly that I've been very busy re-integrating back into the regular routines after traveling and performing, but also have been rather engrossed in a brand-new artistic adventure. I've joined Second Life. Yep, bit the virtual bullet, dropped the red pill and have been zooming down the rabbit hole, full throttle for the past month, and now I'm hooked on creating and building musical instruments and creating all kinds of whacky clothing and stuff for a 3D virtual world.

I have created a Flickr page now, just started for keeping snaps of some of my work. Right now there is only one object shown there that was the first project I built, along with my avatar (who looks a lot different now that I've been working on creating my own custom skin/makeup, etc.) As you probably can imagine, designing things for a 3D universe is fairly complex and consumes a great deal of time, but I've finally found a pace I can handle, and am extremely enjoying myself.

In the meantime, BCO is hard at work, back in the home-studio crankin' out yet more weird, wild and wonderful audio nibblets, not to mention we'll be having another at-home recording session with fellow pixie-friend and all around groovy musickian Daevid Allen next month (which I'm very excited about, say the least!)

In other news-- there is a totally AWESOME free internet radio station in Amsterdam that is well-worth listening to and supporting. BCO played live at their studio back in 2001 when they were pirate station Radio100, and now they've switched their format to internet radio and are known as

DFM RTV INT

Please drop in and have a listen and anyone who is interested in joining their chat, they are available on IRC (details on their main page) and are a very friendly community of artists, dj's, musicians and all-around lovely people. DFM has netcasters from all around the world who have some truly awesome shows, so check them out.

Also, BCO will be preparing to have a regular show on DFM! We are gearing up our home studio at the moment, juggling some of the workhorse mac's and making way for new components, so in another month we should be up and running.

Burning Man Comes Early This Year

First rule of the Burning Man festival: The Man is supposed to burn at the end.

Not this year, though: he caught fire at 2:58 a.m. Pacific time today, four days ahead of schedule.

As the flames climbed up the 40-foot sculpture for 23 minutes, burners, as festival-goers are called, emerged as witnesses.

One of them, Kyle Marx of Eugene, Ore., told The San Francisco Chronicle that the reaction was oddly mixed. “Some people were chanting, ‘Let him burn, let him burn!’ and some were chanting, ‘Save the man, save the man!,’” he said.

A snarky comment from Valleywag seemed apt: “You never saw so may hippies so conflicted.”
