Common (originally Common Sense) was a highly influential figure in rap's underground during the '90s, keeping the sophisticated lyrical technique and flowing syncopations of jazz-rap alive in an era when commercial gangsta rap was threatening to obliterate everything in its path. His literate, intelligent, nimbly performed rhymes and political consciousness certainly didn't fit the fashions of the moment, but he was able to win a devoted cult audience. Invincible Summer will be Chicago hip-hop artist 8th studio album. It was due to be released on June 24th 2008 but has been pushed back to September 22nd due to Common filming.
The first single will be "Universal Mind Control", which features Pharrell. Another track, also featuring Pharrell and titled "Announcement", has leaked to the internet. The two songs were released on July 1, 2008, on iTunes as part of the "Announcement" EP

New Kids on the Block is an American pop group that enjoyed success in the late 1980s and early 1990s. They won two American Music Awards in 1990 for Favourite Pop/Rock Band, Duo, or Group and Favourite Pop/Rock Album for Hangin' Tough.
Assembled in Boston in 1984 by producer Maurice Starr, the members consisted of brothers Jordan and Jonathan Knight, Joey McIntyre, Donnie Wahlberg and Danny Wood. The group went on to sell over 70 million albums worldwide, generated hundreds of millions of dollars in concert revenues, and paved the way for acts like Backstreet Boys, Take That and *NSYNC. The group broke up in 1994. They reunited in April of 2008, and are now planning a new album and an international concert tour in the fall.

In May 2008, the group released "Summertime", as a downloadable single on various online digital music services. They also posted the tune on their MySpace page. The new album, according to Billboard magazine, was not expected until the fall. The song immediately turned up on several radio stations, including WXKS-FM (Kiss 108) in their home city of Boston, Massachusetts. It received 114 spins across two formats (CHR/Pop and Hot AC) in its first day. A music video for "Summertime" was shot on May 9, 2008.

Christopher Rock is an American comedian, actor, screenwriter, television producer, film producer and director. He was voted by Comedy Central as the fifth greatest stand-up comedian of all time.

Rock began doing stand-up comedy in 1985 in New York City's Catch a Rising Star. Rock slowly rose up the ranks of the comedy circuit in addition to earning bit roles in the film I'm Gonna Git You Sucka and the TV series Miami Vice. Summit Grove originated in early December 2007 through a Christian youth program called YoungLife, where Jason Carter and Vincent Rennie met and discussed making music. Vincent had written a song entitled "The One I'm Searching For" (later renamed "Jump Start My Broken Heart") for his Creative Writing class as a make-up assignment for unexcused work. The song eventually caught the attention of Jason when discussing starting the band with Vincent, so the song officially became the first on the bill for the project. After dropping out of the band One Pin Short a year before, Dominic Rennie (Vincent's brother) quickly became the drummer for the no-named band. Before the band would get any further, a name was to be decided .. writing out over twenty names on a white board, nothing had been decided. It wasn't until Brad was heading home that the name Summit Grove popped in his head. Through a telephone call, the name became official.

On February 1st Summit Grove competed and won the Fusion Battle of the Bands at Central Christian sparking new interest from music seekers across the Vegas valley. On April 12 of 2008, Summit Grove was already playing with bands such as Secondhand Serenade, despite only being 5 months old. With promising shows ahead, Summit Grove will be producing new sounds and a highly anticipated EP.

Kenny Loggins is an American singer and songwriter best known for a number of soft rock and adult contemporary hit singles beginning in the 1970s. Originally a part of the duo Loggins and Messina, he has also recorded as a solo artist and written hit songs for other artists.

His early 20s found him in the band Gator Creek with Mike Deasy. An early version of "Danny's Song" (later recorded by Loggins and Messina) was included on an effort on Mercury Records. Loggins continued his career in the 1970s. After attracting the attention of fellow singer-songwriter Jim Messina, the two began a duo career as Loggins and Messina. It lasted until 1976. In 1977 Loggins went on to produce his first solo album, Celebrate Me Home, which included the hit "I Believe In Love," originally sung by Barbra Streisand in A Star Is Born. Nightwatch, a popular album released in 1978, included the hit "Whenever I Call You Friend", a duet with Stevie Nicks of Fleetwood Mac. He followed this in 1979 with Keep the Fire. Loggins also wrote the song "What a Fool Believes" with Michael McDonald. He is known to have recorded it before the Doobies did. The following year he and Michael McDonald wrote This Is It which helped cure his ailing father. The song earned him a Grammy for Best Male Pop Vocal. Over the next decade, Loggins recorded many hit songs for movie soundtracks. This began with "I'm Alright" (peaked at #7 in the U.S.), "Mr. Night" and "Lead the Way" from Caddyshack. Hits followed with "Footloose" and "I'm Free (Heaven Helps the Man)" from Footloose, "Meet Me Halfway" from Over the Top, "Danger Zone" and "Playing With the Boys" from Top Gun. Loggins also performed "Nobody's Fool" from the unsuccessful movie Caddyshack 2. He also performed as a member of USA for Africa on the famine-relief fundraising single "We Are the World".
In the 1990s, Loggins continued his album career, including the popular 1994 children's album Return to Pooh Corner, which included the title single, a reworking of "House at Pooh Corner" written for his newborn son Luke. In 1991, Loggins recorded and produced Leap of Faith, an important album in his career featuring the hit "Conviction of the Heart." Former vice president Al Gore billed this song as "the unofficial anthem of the environmental movement." On Earth Day in 1995, Loggins performed at The National Mall in Washington, D.C. for a live audience of 500,000.
In recent years Kenny Loggins has continued to record and produce within the Adult Contemporary genre and scored a No. 1 single on Billboard's AC chart in 1997 with "For The First Time." (the Oscar nominated song from One Fine Day. His last movie song to date was The Tigger Movie's song Your Heart Will Lead You Home
In 2005, Loggins reconnected with Jim Messina. The two decided to hit the road again; the result was a successful nationwide tour that resulted in the CD and DVD "Loggins and Messina Sittin' In Again."

Colbie Caillat is an American pop singer-songwriter and guitarist from Malibu, California. Her father, Ken Caillat, co-produced Fleetwood Mac's Rumours and Tusk albums. The popularity of Caillat's MySpace profile led her to become the number-one unsigned singer in her genre for four months. Her popularity on the social network was partially due to her song "Bubbly," and the songs on her profile have been played more than forty-two million times (as of May 31st, 2008). For the week of July 17, 2007, "Bubbly" was featured on the iTunes Store as the free "Single of the Week". The promotion coincided with the release of Coco, her debut studio album. Caillat was also spotlighted by Rhapsody during the 2007 Black Friday Sale at Best Buy.
According to her MySpace profile, Caillat was first inspired to start singing at age eleven when she first heard the Fugees' 1996 version of the song "Killing Me Softly", made famous by Roberta Flack in 1973. Her MySpace profile also states that, though trained at piano from an early age, Caillat did not begin playing guitar until age nineteen.
In May 2008, Caillat recorded a duet with Jason Mraz, called "Lucky," on his album, We Sing, We Dance, We Steal Things. That same month, Caillat recorded a cover of the song "Kiss the Girl" from The Little Mermaid for Disney's DisneyMania vol. 6 CD. Caillat is currently shooting another music video in Hawaii for her song "The Little Things."

Julian Marley is a British reggae musician. He is the son of reggae legend Bob Marley and a Bajan mother, Lucy Pounder. He is a member of the Rastafari movement.
Julian's childhood was spent between England and Jamaica. Musical from an early age, he can play the keyboard, drums, bass, guitar, among other instruments. Along with his brothers Ziggy Marley and Stephen Marley, he became involved with Ghetto Youth International, a production company, in 1989. Julian released a solo album, Lion in the Morning, in 1996 and embarked on a world tour. He and his brother Damian Marley toured with the Lollapalooza festival in 1997. Eddy Grant is a British reggae musician born in Plaisance, Guyana.

In 1981 Grant relocated to Barbados and built the Blue Wave studio complex. Around this time Grant moved Ice Records distribution in Europe to RCA and recorded the album, Killer on the Rampage. The relationship with RCA proved particularly fruitful as the album would spawn his hits "I Don't Wanna Dance" and "Electric Avenue". Both of these tracks made the UK Top five, with 'I Don't Wanna Dance' going to number one in the UK Top 40 in September / October 1982.
In 1991, Grant was the host of the first annual Caribbean Music Awards at the Harlem’s Apollo Theater in New York.
Notably, he openly used his songwriting for political purposes, especially against the then-current apartheid regime of South Africa. The Clash recorded a version of "Police on My Back" for their Sandinista! triple album.
Later Grant shifted his focus to Ice Records, and began re-issuing recordings by calypso and soca artists such as the Mighty Sparrow, Roaring Lion, Lord Melody and others. Grant has been married for over 20 years and has four children. He currently splits his time between his studio, label and the Pepperpot Nightclub. In April 2008 Eddy announced his first UK tour for more than 20 years, where he will play Shepherds Bush Empire, Brighton Concorde 2, Cambridge Junction, Norwich Waterfront & the Manchester Academy 2 at the beginning of July.

Bow Wow (formerly Lil' Bow Wow), is an American rapper, actor, and music producer. He released his debut album Beware of Dog at age 13, then under the stage name Lil' Bow Wow, which he carried until his 2003 album Unleashed, under simply Bow Wow. Two more albums followed, Wanted in 2005 and The Price of Fame in 2006. In 2007, he released the collaboration album Face Off with Omarion.

At the age of 13, he released his debut album, Beware of Dog, featuring Snoop Dogg, Jagged Edge, Jermaine Dupri, Xscape, and Da Brat. It spawned the singles, "Bounce With Me", "Bow Wow (That's My Name)" featuring Snoop Dogg, "Puppy Love" with Jagged Edge, and "Ghetto Girls". It sold nearly two and a half million copies.[1] He was also featured on the "Wild Wild West" soundtrack, performing "The Stick Up" with Jermaine Dupri.

In 2001, he released his second album, Doggy Bag. Singles from the album were "Take Ya Home" with Jagged Edge, and "Thank You". It went certified double platinum. Guest appearances include Xscape, Jagged Edge, and Da Brat.

In 2003, he released his third album, Unleashed. He dropped the "Lil" from his name, now calling himself simply "Bow Wow." The first single off the album was "Let's Get Down," featuring Birdman, the founder of Cash Money Records. This single became a success. The second single was then released, "My Baby", featuring Jagged Edge. Unlike his previous albums, this one was not produced under the mentorship of Jermaine Dupri, and solidly earned gold status in spite of Dupri's absence. Guest appearances include Jagged Edge, Birdman, Mario, and Amerie.

In 2005, Bow Wow released his fourth album, Wanted. The first single was "Let Me Hold You", featuring Omarion. This song became a hit. Then Bow Wow released his second single, "Like You", featuring Ciara. After the single release, Bow Wow and Ciara began dating, but after a few months, they broke up. Wanted's third single, "Fresh Azimiz", features J-Kwon and Jermaine Dupri. The album was certified double platinum. Guest appearances include J-Kwon, Jermaine Dupri, Omarion, Ciara, Snoop Dogg, and T. Waters.

In 2006, Bow Wow released his fifth album, The Price of Fame. Like Busta Rhymes and Ludacris, Bow Wow shaved off his cornrows for a new look. His first single was "Shortie Like Mine", featuring Chris Brown. This became a hit. Then there was a conflict between choosing a second single. He wanted "I'm a Flirt" to be the single, but at the last minute changed it to "Outta My System", featuring T-Pain, which became a success. R. Kelly then used the song and created a remix which features T.I. and T-Pain, and made this his debut single for his album Double Up. This reached #12 on the billboard chart and Bow Wow shared credit. This went platinum only. Guest appearances include Chris Brown, T-Pain, Lil Scrappy, Lil Wayne, Short Dawg, Pimp C, Da Brat, R. Kelly, and Khleo Thomas.

Bow Wow and Omarion released a collaborative album on December 11, 2007, Face Off. The first single was "Girlfriend," which peaked at #33 on the Billboard Top 100. The second single is "Hey Baby (Jump Off)." Guest producers include T-Pain, Nitti, The Neptunes, Scott Storch, Timbaland, and Rick Rubin.

Bow Wow is currently working on his seventh studio album entitled H.I.M.(History In Making). The album is slated to be released in late 2008 and feature production from Swizz Beatz, Lil Ronnie, Jermaine Dupri, Soulja Boy, and DJ Khaled. Guest appearances include Soulja Boy, Swizz Beatz, Lil Wayne, DJ Khaled, Young Jinsu, and others. Several tracks like "Pole In My Basement", "Shake It", and "Stunt When I See U" have been leaked on the internet.

Baby Bash's career began to rise when he went to Houston, Texas, where he met fellow rapper South Park Mexican. Thus, he decided to re-locate there. Prior to his success as a solo artist he, under the name "Baby Beesh", was part of rap groups Potna Deuce and Latino Velvet. Bash's debut album entitled Savage Dreams was released on the independent label Dope House Records in 2001. The acclaim he received soon caught the attention of Universal Records, who signed him later that year. In 2003, Baby Bash released his first album on a major label, Tha Smokin' Nephew, and Super Saucy in 2005. He recently was featured in Paula DeAnda's first single "Doin' Too Much" from his debut album Paula DeAnda. He has collaborated with numerous other artists during his career, such as West Coast rappers B-Legit, C-Bo, Coolio, E-40 and Mac Dre, R&B singers like Akon, Avant, Natalie, and Nate Dogg, and other Latino rappers such as Fat Joe, Doll-E Girl, Frost, and Pitbull. He continues to write lyrics for singers such as Paula DeAnda, Whitney Houston, Jennifer Hudson and Frankie J.
His third studio album, Cyclone (initially titled Ronnie Ray All Day), was released in late October 2007. So far, Baby Bash has released three singles off the album: "Mamacita" featuring Marcos Hernandez, "Na Na (The Yummy Song)", and "Cyclone" featuring T-Pain. The month of the album release, Baby Bash became Myspace's #1 Latin artist, and the single Cyclone had over 750,000 digital and ringtone sales prior to the album's release.
Baby Bash is presently working on a new film entitled Primos starring Chingo Bling and Danny Trejo. The comedy involves three cousins working in a bakery with dreams of making money, and is slated for a 2008 release. His major-label debut Tha Smokin' Nephew was well-received by the All Music Guide, but his 2007 album Cyclone was given mixed reviews, for example being panned by Rolling Stone magazine.
