We've just resolved the technical glitches with our Blogges (thanks Matt!). So have lots of news to catch up on. We'll get our updates and some other exciting news posted.

West Sussex Meet

Its been a week since meeting with Mike in a lovely English Countryside setting. I can recommend the sausages and mash at the Star and Garter in East Dean, very tasty especially washed down with a pint of the local ale, Ardle Castle I think.

After a walk up and around 'Trundle' a local scenic view, we were enthused by Mike Trueman about the trek ahead. Mike has been to the region several times before, including summiting Everest itself... Although we are not going that high he did a great job of reassuring my fears over the dreaded altitude sickness, thanks Mike.

On returning we have stepped up the sponsorship campaign and I am even more convinced that anyone getting involved with this adventure will certainly feel the benefits and get caught up in the feel good factor.

I know I said there would be pictures in this entry but I have not downloaded them yet so they will be added later in the week.

Hello,

Paul and myself would like to say a big thankyou to NEXUS and ASTUN Technology who have both become key sponsors of the trek. This is great news and there will be pictures and a another entry to follow shortly.

It is only one week away before we meet up with other members on the expedition which I am looking forward to. I would imagine that you can find out a lot about people when walking with them for three weeks which should be great.

Hello, been a while since my last entry, been a bit busy as now we are 3. Harry was born on Wednesday 19th weighing in at a respectful 7lbs 3oz, mother and baby doing fine.

Its four weeks since the big day and now I understand what people meant when they said it changes your life. Other than feeling a bit tired its all change for the good, its amazing what a little smile can do.

Got to go I think someone needs their nappy changed...

Update New Arrival !

James has just become a Dad for the first time, hence the lack of updates on our Blog. Lots has been going on so I (Paul) thought I'd give a brief update.

Firstly we've had our main sponsor, Active For Life via Exeter City Council who run many events to promote an active and healthy lifestyle. Many thanks to them and particularly Richard Pears who is providing much support and encouragement at the moment.

The trekking bug seems to be spreading ! We now involved with a team who are going to take on a coast to coast walk (50 miles) on mid summers night to be completed in 25 hours. More on this later.

My son and I bagged our Dartmoor 100 Letter Box membership the other weekend after some pretty dramatic walks on the moors to get our last few boxes in time for the clubs meeting.

I'll do my best to keep the blog updated until James returns to the real world - I'm sure well rested and relaxed !!

Welcome to Paul and James’ Everest08 Blog.

This is a double first, both for the Everest 08 trek and the first time I have written a blog, so bear with me.

Well we are up and running, as you can see the Website is finished and a big thankyou has to go to Matt Packer who created it, I think you will agree Matt has done a cracking job, cheers.

If you type Mount Everest into Google there are over 3 million hits, this goes some way to show the interest the mountain generates. Paul and myself consider ourselves lucky to be able to visit an area that is home to the highest peaks on the planet and although we are some way off the excitement is already beginning to stir.
