Framing is wrapping up this week with the final touches on the trusses and roof being worked on. The remaining detail framing will continue with arches, niches, staircases, etc... into the following week. Framing is making excellent progress thanks to the weather. Exterior walls on the main floor are mostly up. Above is the nook. Framing officially began on Monday with Richard White (architect) and Barton Brothers Construction having a kickoff meeting for framing. By days end, we had walls! Well, actually "a" wall...but excited to see fresh cut lumber and the hear the sound of circular saws and nail guns! The backyard is now flat after the dirt mounds have been used for backfill and more excavating was done to bring the backyard down to the lower level. As you can see from the images, dirt was also backfilled up the foundation walls on the side so actual slopes are taking form. The above view is from the southwest corner of the house. Backfilling of the dirt has begun creating a driveable front driveway. I've actually parked my SUV where the middle of the 3 double garages will be. Jessica is standing in front of the home which gives a clearer perspective of how wide the house's footprint is. Foundation walls are finally exposed after all the forms have been removed. These seven pictures show the massive foundation walls from left to right. After some plumbing work, we'll see more excavation and backfill up to the foundation walls in the next week. Framing should begin shortly thereafter. Check back for updates!

At the property today for the pool meeting in the 95 degree smoltering heat. The foundation guys were still at work putting in all the rebar and walls for the foundation wall pour next week. Today would have been Alyssa's actual due date but as it is, she is now 5 weeks old.  She's been eating very well and gaining lots of weight.  She's up to 8lbs now which is great considering she went home at 5lbs .5oz.  Sister Caitlyn joined in on the pictures with baby Alyssa.  Aren't they adorable?
