DMX Avoids Jail Again- Thanks to Attorney Glenn Allen

Phoenix criminal defense attorney Glenn Allen pulled out all the stops in getting supervised probation for a his famous client, rapper DMX. DMX was facing aggravated assault charges after he threw his food tray at a correctional officer during his latest prison stay for animal cruelty, drug possession and theft.

Sheriff Joe Arpaio was not to thrilled at the lenient treatment he felt the star received;

“The fact that the court gave him what amounts to about two weeks' time for assaulting an officer is a farce.”

This is particularly helpful when using Twitter since Twitter only allows 140 characters in every post. This would allow an active tweeter to link to their informative BLOG articles- (Im talking to you McDaniel!)

I have to admit that I find the whole concept of telling the world "what your doing now" a bit self indulgent. That said, Twitter appears to have some marketing value. For me, I see myself tweeting on recent blog posts or best practices that my attorney clients or FindLaw sales consultants might benefit from.

1. Patrick J. McClain - Dallas, TX
Check out the attorney video that honors our troops. It is a wonderful tribute. Design also features a flag and the famous picture of the soldiers raising the flag at Iwo Jima.

2. York & Associates - Indianapolis IN A soaring bald eagle set against an Amercian Flag. It dosent get any more patriotic then that.

3. Liberty Law Center - Colorado Springs, CO
Aptly named law firm has a picture of the liberty bell and the Stars and Stripes waving in the wind.

Home page features a waving American flag. Apparently this attorney has a GIGANTIC American flag hanging outside his office that cannot be missed from the highway.

Stars and stripes is the centerpiece of this design. Providing legal services close to one of the largest Marine installations in the country- it better be.

6. Scott Warmuth - Los Angeles, CA
What can be more patriotic than taking your oath of citizenship. Site features lots of great patriotic imagery.

Red, White and Blue bankruptcy website.

It is quite common for immigration law websites to feature patriotic themes - this is one of the best looking.

On my recommendation, many of my clients have signed up with the yahoo business directory for $299/year. It is a well established directory with good relevance. To sign up for Yahoo, you need to establish a Yahoo account and pay via credit card. Unless you sign into your Yahoo account and cancel it, your listing will automatically renew on the aniversery date.

In recent weeks, a fraudelent email has been going out to people who have a listing in Yahoo. The subject line of the email look like this.

YAHOO WEB MARKETING SOLUTIONS [support.acct@yahooservices.com]

In it, the email asks subscribers to renew their Yahoo business listing as its about to run out;

Dear Client,
Your Yahoo Marketing Solutions account has expired. You must renew it immediately or your account will be closed. If you intend to use this service in the future, you must take action at once! To continue click here, login to your Yahoo Marketing Solutions account and follow the steps.

The most voracious legal BLOG writer in the country, Joseph McDaniel, just released a new BLOG aimed at helping new lawyers. Joe offers sanguine advice on everything from buying business cards to which pens you should purchase. Besides helpful, all of his posts contain his trademark humor which always seem to get me laughing.

Steve Leshner Files Zicam Lawsuit

Today lawyers on behalf of 117 people, filed a lawsuit against the Scottsdale-based maker of Zicam - Matrixx Initiatives Inc. Steve Leshner, a Phoenix personal injury attorney, filed the lawsuit in Maricopa County Superior Court. The suit claims that the 117 people have suffered loss of smell after using the popular nasal spray.

The lawsuit comes right after the Food and Drug Administration issued a warning letter linking Zicam nasal gel and swabs to loss of smell. The company responded by voluntarily recalling its Zicam Cold Remedy nasal gels and swabs from retailers nationwide.
