Mid-autumn festival

These photos in the layout has been there in my room since early October and only get to scrap them after seeing Helen's sketch and a challenge over Scrapbook Challenges about holiday, which reminds me of the mid-autumn festivity that we had, though it is not a holiday over here.

Mid-autumn festival is being celebrated on the 15th day on the 8th lunar month, where the moon is roundest. Does that found punched out looks like a full moon to you?

Mid-autumn (Zhong Qiu) is meant for the family reunion / gathering, and children would go around with lantern. Which my kids love!

I've actually put some glitters underneath the buttons and that thin strip of paper is actually the left over pattern paper from border punching. And since the background is dark and I want my journal to come out, I used acrylic paint for the base.

Creative Scrappers sketch - Be There

Another beautiful sketch from Creative Scrappers:

While I was doing this layout, I was hoping that I've got a circle cutter for myself so that I don't need to cut it by hand while figuring out if the circle is the right size that I needed. I'm also wishing that I've got some other different sizes of circle punch for the lollipop flower. Another tool that I wish to have is the distressing tool.

I'm using all things from Scrapbook Deals 4u - Flutter butter kit plus a previous kit's letter stickers (in blue) and Making Memories journal stamp set.
While I was doing this layout in my non-usual hour, i.e. earlier than usual, my boys were there and they got so interested in what I was doing, they wanted to have a hand on those stamp set, letter stickers and ink too. Probably one day they would be a better scrapper then me. But now I'm so stingy in letting them my stash of things - my precious paper, ink and letter stickers. Ha!

Just got my November kit from Scrapbook Deals 4U - Flutter Butter. Gorgeous kit as always that Martha put up with. I feel a bit guilty for having to cut those patter paper apart, they are just so pretty. And I'm thinking hard if I should use those stickers in the layout or in a mini album. Those cardstock stickers are great for a mini album, maybe something like a message from me to my boys about life. But I haven't found any suitable photo yet.

So, here is one layout that I did using the kit and also a lift from Rowena Otile's LO over at Scrapbook Challenges:

Those blocks are not from Lego, they are some blocks that hubby bought from China, but Calvin loves them and he has built cars and trucks from it by following the instruction sheet that came with it.

I've stick one of the round sticker on the PP, cut it out and distressed it, then pop it up using foam adhesive. I've also use the package backing of the Prima swirl bling that came with the kit as the mat for my photo.

As for those letter stickers, I've used glimmer gel pen on them, it is more visible from the side.

Creative Scrappers sketch - Paint

This is for Creative Scrappers sketch #77:

Those flowers are handmade after learning about it Johanna through their vblog post over in YouTube, it is great! I'm using some light weight pattern paper from PaperWishes for those flowers plus Thank goodness I bought myself a mini mister from the drugstore yesterday and made it into good use last night.

Oh, and those felt flowers, they are gathering dust and finally can be showing off here in the layout again. And those trim, they are just nice (I think) for the layout to add some texture.

I think I'm getting to love distressing, I tried to distress almost all of my recent layouts, don't you think so?

This layout is about those paint work that my two sons did while they were over in the Kiddies club. They just love it so much that they'll ask for it every time they are there, but I do have to pay for it, so ... some times they don't get what they want *wink*.

And, here is my take, one that I did last night probably using the shortest time (half an hour) to finish after my boys have gone to dreamland.

Ya.. I've simplify the sketch and distressed everything and inked everything except those stickers. To me the white cardstock is just too clean for me, thus I've inked it.

My first DS was actually trying to capture himself with the self-timer, but probably he has chosen the 2 sec. timer, so it looks like he was jumping.

This is a page that inspired by Scrap-it-lah November challenge, Scrapbook Challenges play on words challenge and a sketch from Color Me Daisy.

Scrap-it-lah challenge is to "Please scrap a layout with the title comprising of the letters - "S", "I" and "L" which are the acronyms of Scrap-it-Lah."

Where else for Scrapbook Challenges is "to make a play on words with you title. You may use stamps, die cuts, cut outs, chipboard, and so many more. Any subject, any size, any type of project as long as it follows the challenge."

So, I'm incorporating all three things in one layout since they are not about the same thing, and it help a lot in doing this page and it is fun too!

This is us during my trip over to Shenzhen recently, taken in the restaurant at the air-port.

Have long didn't use that swirl stamp from Inkadinkado that I bought from Scrap-n-crop. I've misted the heart shape that I cut out from Urban Lily paper, then ink the edges and stamp on it using white ink. Love how it turns out.

Yup, after 7 years of marriage, we are still in love. Especially after the recent trip. Now I know how important that is to our relationship, we should really spend quality "us" time together more than anything else.

I'm loving this layout and am displaying it in my office now. ;)

Ya, they piratically have everything you need to print about, including calender, activities, crafts, music, games and lots more. You just gotta check them out. They have some great stencils over at their craft section which is just great for kids to color. And they are absolutely FREE!

Now I would be checking in to see if I can print something out for my boys to do and get them occupy later during their school holiday.

I've flip the sketch and tilt it aside, ink those edges on the pattern paper and my photo. The photo actually was taken awhile back and the incident actually happened last night right before bed-time.

Probably since I've left my boys for 5 days being with hubby, my 2nd DS discovered something new to do like kissing me on the lips for more than ten times in one go and hugged me, then told me I'm pretty *LOL* How sweet was that!? I was holding my surprise look though.

I've also put some white ink on the title area to make it stands out more from the journal sheet.

The walk

I did a very quick but thoroughly thought over layout last night after seeing the sketch #76 of Creative Scrappers. One that hinted the use of paint or the same sort.I found the perfect pattern paper for this sketch and have used ink and glimmer mist on the background. The pattern paper is just nice for those photos as well as my boys were enjoying a walk along our neighbourhood road that are not fully done yet.

This walk of their is actually being called jogging by them. But instead we just walk.

In these picture, one of them was collecting pebbles, and one was carrying a stick. They wanted to go further up but lazy mom made up stories to get them home *grin*.

One Sunday

Am back!

Just got back yesterday from visiting hubby. I had lots of fun time away from my two boys. I must say I don't particularly miss them *LOL*. Knowing that I can do lots of things that I can't do with them around, such as going for food massage, eating comfortably without chasing them around, sleeping late and eating hot and spicy noodles! Yup, I'm glad I made the trip over alone.

Now, for scrapbook sharing. Am way too late to submit this on a challenge over at Creative Scrappers using their sketch #75

I'm using all things from Scrapbook Deals 4U October kit - Delilah, plus Tattered Angel's mist, Making Memories paper pad and some ink. Look out for Scrapbook Deals 4U October Delilah kit in their store for more description soon.

I got the idea of ink distressing from one of the pattern paper that came along in the kit, so I've used red, brown and white ink on the edges of the pink cardstock. Knowing that I hardly use flowers on my boys' pages, thus it is so lovely to see these flowers on my layout.

Another bummer for me happened today - I forgot my camera!

It is like "I forgot my phone" thing to me 'cos today I'm suppose to load photos into the gallery to be entered for some challenges and yet of all the things, I forgot the camera which I've already snap photos of my layout, one that being doing last night using the beautiful Delilah kit from Scrapbook Deals4U.

*Sigh* And now, I'll have to wait till next Tuesday to get it loaded and it will be way past due date. I really really wish I can have my broadband running at home, unfortunately it doesn't cover till that area. Even when it does, it is way too slow for me to load anything over the Net.

So peeps, you won't be able to see me online over here updating on my blog till next Tuesday. I'm going to a land that forbid Blogspot and Facebook. Can you imagine that? To live without having access to Blogspot and Facebook? It is a sad case to me. For once, they (Chinese gov.) has opened up their gateway and let people browse blogspot, now they are blocking it again. Even YouTube also can't get over their gateway. Sad huh!?

Last chance for me to scrap tonight and share about it tomorrow before I go off to meet hubby on Thursday morning. Not like this will be the end of my scrapping life, it is just that I'll be away for the weekend without my scrapping stuff.

Guess what, I'm actually looking forward to it, that I can get away from my boys :p I'm missing my scrapbook more than my boys.. something must be wrong with me. I know I'll be missing them when I got there, but as for now, I'm happy that I will have a "small vacation" away from them. >:)

Here is another layout using the Delight kit from Scrapbook Deals 4U. I did this layout within an hour, super fast huh!? Not following any sketch, but just go according to my mood and the colors of those photos. I'm getting the blue, green and chocolate from the photo, adding some red flowers. Love the kit.

Yes, PbsKids is my sons' favorite site, both of them would pester me to let them play in the site once I got online in my in-laws' place every Saturday night. There they go again on the notebook:
I've used sketch #74 from Creative Scrappers for this layout and those pretty papers from Basic Grey Marrakech which came in Scrapbook Deals 4U April kit. Yes, this kit has been sitting there for several months 'cos the patterns are just too overwhelming for me. I should have known earlier that it is ok for me to cut them up and use them sparingly. After browsing in their gallery then only I realize that (what a slow couch I am :D).

To add some glimmer, I've used the Stardust pen that came in their September Delight kit to draw on the peacock, it is only visible when you look from the side.

I still have a lot of paper from the Marrakech kit, and the Delight kit, and the recent October Delilah kit. Maybe I'm just too careful in using those beautiful paper or maybe I haven't got that many pages to scrap and I've already skipped two months from them but I'm definitely still getting their November kit which is just too good to be missed. It was a hard decision for me 'cos the other two kits looks so yummy as well. However since I know I'll be doing more boy's page rather than girl, and we don't have Fall over here, so I choose Kit #3 - Flutter Butter.

I'm sure when the December kit is out, I'll definitely need some more paper for Christmas cards ;)

I normally don't use too bulky a thing in my layout, just afraid that my album can't close up properly and it might just dent other pages in it. But this Prima flower.. this is different, it is just so pretty and doesn't need extra embellishment to make it stands out, and I just can't resist in using it here.

I'm using a sketch feature in Creative Scrappers for this layout, and have simplified it as well.

Here is a close-up of the simple tied-up ribbon on the Prima flowers.

I seldom have picture of my sister, I bet she'll be happy to see this.

I love those beautiful paper from BoBunny included inside the October kit of Scrapbook Deals4U, they are just so pretty. I'm getting the Delilah Kit and I'm loving every pieces of paper came in it with all those embellishment as well. I felt a bit sorry that I had to cut them up and there are also paper that are pretty on both sides! I haven't come to use that piece that, it is going to be a hard decision for me to choose either side and forgo the other side..

The layout that I did is using the Delilah Kit and some extra embossing powder and vintage lace trim. I've got all my photos processed with white borders but then had to cut two of them out in order to get just the boys instead of the whole playground. And just to make it pop a bit, I've use foam adhesive on one of the smaller square.

I've also made some ruffles out from the ribbon that came together with the kit and finally put on the vintage trim to make it more complete. Ruffles inspiration from Moxie Fab World.

I've embossed several layers of red embossing powder on the title chipboard that came along in the kit.
It is just so fun to be able to create a page out from the kit.

Using laughter as a prompt from Categories Story. Truely, my sons laugh makes my heart sing. Love seeing them enjoying themselves in the playground through my high pitch voice shouting over "becarefullllll !" LOL

Yes, when I slow down, I can see that their true happiness became mine.

Not really a well taken picture of the layout. Anyway, just wanna share this using the sketch from Creative Scrappers

Still having the "simple" in mind from Scrap-it-lah, I tried to use some of those journaling bits from Humbly Print and my stamp sets from Sassafras trim trimmery. I'm still thankful for those die-cut flowers sent in by Suzanne (Thanks Suzanne!).

Since I needed some tiny pearl for the butterfly body and I ran out of tiny pearls, I've cut up Jennie Bowlin Studio Pearl Flowers and used that as the tiny embellishment separated on those butterflies and on the overlay.

This layout is for the fun of just using those kit from Scrapbook Deals 4U by using the sketch feature in Helen's site here and the "simple" idea from Scrap-it-lah site challenge.

The word simple is not really visible, so I've doodle on the edge of each alpha stickers.

I haven't been taking photos of the boys lately, should do that more often. I'm missing out on the Project 365 as well, haven't been keeping up for that. Will need to start scrapping those photos soon, else will get even lazier. I'm actually hoping to get the Project 365 kit from Creating Keepsakes, my last hope in getting from Kelly Purkey also gone.. *sigh*.

Yes, exam is over and yet I finally got my paper in (just for share).

Here would be my take:

I've made some lollipops flowers to go along with it as I though flowers would be too girlie for this page. Those swirls are actually traces from a chipboard sticker backing and ink with green color ink. And since my sewing machine is not working and I'm so lazy to put it back on after my boys took off some part of it, so I'm using fake stitching on the edges.

I'm using Desiree's "You gotta be"song's relics as the title and journaling. I love that song, would really hope Cal will get what it means.

I'm also eagerly waiting for weekend to play with those papers and tools that I've been abandoning recently. I've got myself a pre-loved cutter from Creative Memories too!

Yes, there is still nothing from me with scrapbook related yet, 'cos I'm away from my scraproom. Am staying in my in-law's house at the moment as hubby is back for a few days. Of course I miss my scraproom! But being with hubby is much more important to have that sparks keep lighting too, right?

I'm half way working for the final exam over in Scrapbook Deals 4u, hopefully will be able to cook it before due day which is this coming Sunday.

Almost everyday

I was playing with the glimmer mist again! I wanted to do a simple page as instructed in the class of geography over in Scrapbook Deals 4U which should include some stitching, a non-scrap thing and with travel theme. So here is my take on the class:

Journal: Almost everyday we stopped by Uncles Alex's home just because you wanted to play games on his computer. You'll start by asking with a puppy face but if I say no you'll start whining all the way home. So, almost everyday, we'll stop by for at least half an hour.

One thing though, probably a little car is more suitable on where I've put the flowers...

Did this layout for Scrapbook Deals 4U cramfest horticulture class.

I've got this photo copied from hubby's mobile phone which he took one day when we were over in LHDN (Lembaga Hasil Dalam Negeri) waiting to settle our income tax, I was busy thinking or doing something and wasn't totally aware that he was going to take my picture. Thanks dear, else I won't even have a photo of myself to scrap.

As for those flowers, the Petaloo Mulberry is from Scrapbook Deals 4U September Delight kit. I still have lots of those papers that I haven't used in that kit. And I'm already ordering their October kit! Just can't miss their lovely that put together by Martha. There are just so many yummy goodies inside, they are still selling it in the store, do grab one while you can.

I did another mini album over the Raya holidays. I'm utilizing my Zutter bind-it-all, Marvy scallop oval puncher, We Are Memory Keeper's corner chomper, Maya Road journal stamp, red embossing powder and a bit of creativity. I'm loving my Zutter and corner rounder.

These photos were taken way back in 2004 during a short trip to visit a local library there attending a forum/conference concerning local history. What it was, wasn't that important and memorable to me (:D), leisure is more fun, and I get to meet up with some distance relatives over there.
