Memorial Service for Michael Jackson

Today was the memorial service for Michael Jackson. I bawled for a good two hours. It was filled with many touching speeches and performances by Mariah Carey, Stevie Wonder, Jennifer Hudson, Brooke Shields, Usher, Lionel Ritchie, Berry Gordy, Smokey Robinson and many more. What really got my tears flowing though, was when Michael's daughter, Paris, just 11 years old, got up and spoke. She said he was "the best father you could ever imagine." I think that was the most touching moment of the whole memorial. It was so sad to watch the service, but it was definitely a must. It is history, and will be talked about and remembered for the rest of my life and beyond, I'm sure. If you missed the memorial you can click here for some of the video.

A Sad Day in Hollywood

Today we have lost to Hollywood legends.....Farrah Fawcett and Michael Jackson. Farrah was just 62 and Michael only 50. I am still in shock and am so sad. These two people were icons and to lose them in the same day is just shocking.....I have no other words....They will be greatly missed. Their families will be in my thoughts and prayers....

3 New Babies!

Rat babies..that is!!! Awwwww.....aren't they cute?!?! I know some people will say "no!" but I don't care...I think they are adorable! We got these little guys a week or so ago now, and they are settling in nicely. I'm sure I'll post more pictures later...Sorry in advance...lol!

This is just amazing! Such a shocker and a tearjerker...lol!!! I love it and had to share! I was going to embed the video, but they have disabled embedding for some reason. You have to go check this out. This is a video with a lady named Susan Boyle on Britains Got Talent. She was laughed at, at first, and then she showed them....so good!!!!

Well did the Easter bunny pay a visit to your house last night? He did ours...that darn rascally rabbit brought way too much candy...lol! The kids are going to be on a sugar high for a week...lol! I hope everyone has a great Easter and you enjoy every minute of it!

Our Vacation

Well we got back from our vacation this past Saturday. We went down to Alabama to visit with family for two weeks. While we were there we went to the beach in Gulf Shores and on a dolphin cruise. That was the second time we have went on the dolphin cruise. If you ever get the chance to go on one, I highly recommend it. They are so fun!

For the most part we just hung out with the family, which was nice. The kids got to play with there cousins, which they enjoyed a ton, and we got to visit with my brother and in-laws. It was a very nice vacation, and I can't wait to do it again next year.

This is so funny! I was talking the other day about going camping in a RV on vacation, to Gettysburg. I thought it would be fun and dh would love it. Well, apparently one of my Aunts and Uncles thought so too...because they went! Not to Gettysburg, but in a RV. They went on a little adventure just hopping around from place to place. That would be so much fun.. They are both retired and have no commitments, so they just took off...they are so adventurous!!! I'm jealous!

They stayed in several nc rv parks, that they said were very nice. So I did a little looking on the Internet, did a search for rv parks nc and found several that looked very nice. I think we would still prefer to go to Gettysburg, but this rv park North Carolina thing looks real tempting...lol! The area is just beautiful! The trees are gorgeous and I've heard that they are big on golf. Always wanted to try that! So anyone been camping in North Carolina?

My Hectic Day!!!!

Well today was a little hectic. It started by taking Kaitlin to school, then I went to the dollar store, then back home. I asked my mom if she wanted to go to lunch..and she did...so we went to lunch. We then had to run to her house to get a paper she needed, we went up to pick up her paycheck, we went to pick Kaitlin up from school. Then we went to the bank to cash it, the courthouse to pay property taxes and get a dog license, then we stopped at the eye doctor, and last but not least, we went to the grocery store. We came back to my house and then after the hubby got home, I went over to her house to help her pack some stuff up...because she's moving in tomorrow! So my day has just been go, go, go all day long...I'm tired, I'm sore, and I'm extremely hungry!

I found something today that my husband would love I think. Camping at the historic Gettysburg Battlefield. I know he would think that would be really cool. Heck, even I think that Gettysburg camping would be cool..lol! Part of the RV park is actually on the edge of the most famous battlefield in civil war history. So you could get up in the morning and take a stroll through it...wouldn't that be neat?

So if you're going to be taking the kids on vacation this summer, why not make it educational. If your looking for Pa RV camping I would definitely check this out. It looks awesome! I know that when the kids get older the hubby will want to take them, and I won't have a problem with that at all. You can even watch historical reenactments! I know the kids would get a kick out of that. So if you want to go RV camping Gettysburg is the place to go.

Wow! Biggest Loser Tonight

Tonight on The Biggest Loser they had the longest challenge in Biggest Loser history. The contestants competed to see which team, blue or black, could put the most miles on a bike in 24 hours. It wasn't a spinning bike either, it was a regular bike made into a stationary bike. So it would of been much harder. Anyway, they had to take turns riding for 24 hrs! That's insane! Can you imagine how bad your butt would hurt? Omg! My butt hurts just thinking about it..lol!!!

A New Home and a New Start

Well my sister-in-law and her husband are moving in just a few days. They are waiting for new counter tops to be put in. My sis-in-law is very excited to finally have a place of her own. I'm very happy for her. She's moved several times, so I hope she's happy with this new place. I know I hate moving, it's such a hassle. Packing all those boxes, loading trucks, then unpacking. It's a pain!

If I ever had to move again I would definitely look into hiring Movers. I mean there are Moving Companies for a reason, right? To help you move! So why not take advantage of it...lol! So whether you're moving across town or to a different state, there are movers that can help you. You can hire Long Distance Movers to help with that move from Michigan to Alabama or you can hire a mover to help you move you across town. Distance doesn't matter. Hopefully, we won't have to move again for a LONG time....because I really like it here..lol!

A Serious Subject...Addiction

I would like to take a minute to talk about something serious, addiction. Many, many people deal with it everyday. People that are addicted themselves and people that have a loved ones that are addicted. I certainly have known a person or two that have had problems with alcohol. Both of the people that I know were lucky enough to overcome their addictions and turn their lives around. It's hard though. It's not something that should be taken lightly. You have to want it, and not just because people are telling you too. You have to want it for yourself.

If you or someone you know needs treatment for alcoholism, don't be afraid to ask. Find a support group or a treatment facility. It's not just alcohol too, many people are addicted to drugs, and that includes prescription medications too. What they need is a good drug treatment program to help them. They also need support, from their family and friends. Trying to overcome an addiction is probably one of the hardest things they will ever do. A shoulder to cry on is a must. If you or someone you know needs help, don't wait, get help today!

Are You Watching Tonight?

The 81st annual Academy Awards are on tonight...will you be watching? I will. Here's a link to the nominees. I am hoping that Heath Ledger wins for "The Dark Knight." That would be awesome, and from what I've heard his daughter, Matilda, will get it when she turns 18 if he wins. So.... Go HEATH!!!!!!!!! The Oscar's start at 5PT/8ET. Enjoy! Oh, eat some popcorn for me please...I'm on a diet....lol!

I am utterly disgusted with the amount of snow that we have received in the last few days. I am not exaggerating when I say we have gotten at least a foot and a half of snow. I am sick of snow. I am sick of winter. I want my sunshine and short sleeve shirt weather!!! And I want it NOW! OK...this ends my rant for today..lol!

My Friend's Craft Show

One of my very dear friends is working on on setting up her own booth at a local craft show. She sells candles and crafty stuff that she makes. She was telling me all about it earlier and it got me thinking about maybe setting up my own booth one of these years. I could make some scrapbook things to sell and maybe even do some framed artwork. Seeing her get all excited about it has made me want to do it. It's a lot of work, but I think it would be fun.

I never knew there were so much work that went into setting up trade show displays, and so many options. I didn't know that there were entire companies out there devoted to just selling stuff for exhibit booths. You can get truss so that you can hook up lighting, you can get logo floor mats even. Lots of fancy stuff. Of course my friend doesn't have that stuff, since she's just selling crafts, but I thought it was kind of interesting...lol!

Background Check=Peace of Mind

I love the fact that in this day and age you can do a background check on just about anyone from the comfort of your own home. Whether your doing a criminal search looking for criminal records, or people search looking for a long lost friend. You can find out anything on the Internet. I'm surprised that so many people don't know that a lot of these things are public record and you can look at them. I know that if I was looking for a roommate, going on a blind date, or leaving my child with someone I didn't know, I would certainly do a Background Check on them. I don't see anything wrong with doing a background check, especially if I am trusting them with my child. To me a background check equals peace of mind.

Yay for Credit Card Machines!

I was thinking today about economy and how bad it is. I can't imagine how scared all the business owners must be. I would be very worried if I owned a business in this economy, especially since so many businesses are going under. Seems like there are more and more everyday, and not just the little guys either, big businesses. I know if I owned a business I would be doing anything and everything to keep it afloat. Whether that meant a Business Loan or just adding credit card machines.

I know there is a restaurant in the mall that our family goes to quite often and they recently started taking credit/debit cards. We were very happy to hear that. There has been several occasions where we wanted to eat there, but couldn't because we didn't have any cash. I think it's just silly to not accept credit cards in this day and age, because so many people use them. Like us! We hardly ever use cash and rarely have it on us. So now I'm wondering if that restaurant is having difficulty staying open, and added the machines was a way to help their business. I hope they aren't having trouble, it's my kids favorite place to eat when we go to the mall...lol!

Smell the Roses

In just four short days many homes will have that great aroma, the smell of roses. I love it! I love how one bouquet of roses can make the whole house smell good. I love flowers, and always like to have a vase of fresh flowers on the table. I think it makes the house smell good and look good. That's one reason I love Valentine's Day so much, I know I will usually get flowers and my house is going to smell good for at least a week.

We went out to Olive Garden and shopping last weekend. I love Olive Garden, it's one of my favorite restaurants. So that was kind of our Valentine's Day date. It was fun! My wonderful husband already bought me one present. I was with him when he bought them and picked them out..lol! A new pair of pretty earrings. I love them. They are purple amethysts, which are my favorite. The hubby got lucky too..they were on sale...lol!

Tomorrow is my baby boy's 2nd birthday. I can't believe it! I do not know where the last two years has gone. It has just flown by. Before I know it he will be going off to college. Ok I'm gonna go find some Kleenex...lol!

40 More Days!

Well our vacation is getting closer and closer, and I'm sure the next month will just fly by. There is still a ton to do. I have to make a packing list with everything we need to take with us on the trip. That way we won't forget anything when we go or when we come back. I highly recommend making a list when you go on a long vacation. They are very handy, especially when you have kids.

Kaitlin is looking forward to going to the zoo again. She can't wait to see the giraffes, they were here favorite last time. I'm sure Cameron will enjoy it more this year too, last year he was only one, and didn't really understand or care what was going on. My mom is looking forward to the zoo too. I just wish we had our own wheelchair and van with an electric wheelchair lift. I looked at them at MobilityWorks and was surprised to see that you can actually rent handicap accessible vans. I would of never thought of that, and am definitely going to keep that in mind for next year. It would make the trip much easier for my mom, and she would be able to go a lot more places, so it would a lot more fun too. I can't wait, only 40 days to go!

Video Games Rule!

Don't you just love the Wii? I do! I love the Cow Racing game on the Wii Play. Love it! It's my favorite. I'm also pretty good at the Wii bowling. The husband and I have always been big fans of video games. It all started when I got my first Nintendo. I loved that thing, and since then video games have just gotten bigger and better. We now have the Xbox, the PlayStation, the Wii and there are so many games for them. Sales for video games just keep going up and up, as new and better games come out. So if you're in need of a new console or some new games I would recommend looking at TVG first. They have all the latest video game news, game cheats, and reviews on everything. Very cool site.
