Yes folks, you read it right, F-L-O-O-D! Lately I have noticed that Davao is starting to be like Manila everytime there’s a heavy downpour. I have fallen victim to this last week when my little blue baby swam in knee-high waters of Boulevard en route to SM! Water seeped into my car and I ended up spending a Ninoy to have my matting washed and vacuumed! Thanks to the very able and understanding guys at Petron (in between Jollibee and McDo) for understanding that what I went through was very traumatic indeed.

So, finally, I went to my first-ever, and hopefully not the last, blog party last Saturday at Toto’s Bar at the top floor of Casa Leticia. I must admit I was hesitant to go there because I’m really a virgin (!) when it comes to blogging, just 12-posts old and they might think low of me. I had to text Red if he really was coming. I arrived an hour late but the party has not started and it allowed some time for me to mingle with other bloggers (ice man, dulce negosyante, michelle, floraine, ria, blogie, migs, etc). Food was really delicious, I enjoyed the pastries specially the cheesecake, my sweet tooth really had its dose. :)

The party kicked-off with Migs as the emcee who did a fine job in making everyone feel welcome and throwing those witty one-liners. Prizes were raffled and I was the first to win a mouse. Thank you Migs for pronouncing my name wrong! hehehe Every blogger, when his/her name gets picked for a prize can promote/say something about his/her blog/s. So I introduced mine as random ramblings of a 20something single on her quest for true love. Yikes! Talk about wearing my heart on my sleeve! But this made everyone laugh and that night it felt great to brag that I do not have a stable relationship to brag about. hehehe thank you for encouraging me guys not to take the situation seriously and special mention to Ria for the encouragement to give things a shot and Cool Iceman for giving me the Wordpress shirt he had won that night - after he gets it from Blogie.

I must say things well for me that night, a great way to spend my Saturday minus the worry that I will be with a date that a I have nothing in common with. It was good clean fun as I told Mummy, my feet had their well-deserved rest (I wore flats last Saturday when I usually wear killer Stilettos on Saturdays). So to “Derek”, thank you for being at People’s Park that night (which is right across Casa Leticia) and for looking up at the top floor knowing that I am there. Yes I was there, and believe it or not, for the first time, I never thought of myself as Meredith Grey.

Baby steps but I will get there…

- dramaqueen.davaobloggers.com

makoynoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5509455233436457668.post-79809128018498438712008-06-16T14:08:00.000+08:002008-06-16T14:09:46.443+08:00Official List of Iron Man '08 Finishers (By Sticker/Control Number)Copied from the other thread guys, with just a few minor corrections that we know of. Aside from that, snacks & drinks, efficient & speedy, service was given to all IRON MAN participants who were most definitely in a rush to finish the challenge well within the prescribed 24-hour deadline. On a related note, all AMDG-Petron MC, ATAT MC, & some Team TOYBIKES bikes were/are also powered by Petron SPRINT 4T oil.

"Group 20"
The AMDG-Petron MC was gunning for the 100,000Php purse offered by Mayor Alfred Romualdez/Patio Victoria for any group of 20 or more riders to start, check-in, & finish the challenge as a whole. The AMDG-Petron train of 20 riders was intact and accounted for, spearheaded by AMDG-Petron MC President Nilo Vergara up until Bamban, Tarlac; when their hopes were dashed a mere 20 kilometers away from the finish line when one of the bikes broke down in a truly heartbreaking turn of events. The group finished the challenge in about 23 1/2 hours.

"Party time"
On the morning of the 6th of January (Sunday), Petron Corporation once again showed their generosity & support by sponsoring and co-hosting an eat-all-you-can brunch buffet at the Oxford Hotel in Clark for all organizers, participants, finishers, and guests of the IRON MAN Challenge 2008 together with the AMDG-Petron Motorcycle Club. It seemed like a mini bike convention as the Dynasty Restaurant on the ground floor of the Oxford Hotel was filled to the rafters, it has a 300 to 350 pax capacity. Special guest, General Berroya, was present and wished everybody well. Clubs represented were, ATAT, BAGWIS, BATANGAS TIRE BURNERS, BIKERS UNLIMITED, BOSS, BRAVO BROS., CB RIDERS, CLUB 200, LAWIN, LERAP, Pampanga ROADRUNNERS, Team TOYBIKES, WACKY, & AMDG-Petron. (*I hope I did not forget any club)

All in all, the IRON MAN Motorcycle Challenge '08 was an unforgettable and memorable experience to all, organizers, participants, & guests alike... we all learned new things from one another and about each other... bonds were made, or strengthened, or in some cases even forgotten... bottomline... let us not forget or destroy the BROTHERHOOD in our community!

Thank you to Francis Rivera & BOSS for their invitation & auspices.

KUDOS to PETRON Corporations XCS fuel and SPRINT 4T oil!

Ride on brothers! The range of Petron Spring 4T oils is thermally stable and will not easily thin out even in high temperatures. Its ability to resist high levels of oxidation prevents oil loss. It also prevents formation of engine deposits leading to oil thickening.

Petron Sprint 4T multi-grade motorcycle engine oils with TCS are available in three-variants: Petron Sprint 4T Extra for reliable and stress-free performance (SAE 20W-40 API SE/JASO MA); Petron Sprint 4T Rider for riding dependability and a cool ride every time (SAE 20W-40 API SF/JASO MA); and Petron Sprint 4T Enduro for racing experience and superior endurance (SAE 20W-50API SJ/JASO MA).

Petron Sprint 4T motorcycle oils have been formulated to meet international standards, as indicated in the packaging. SAE stands for Society of Automotive Engineers, the organization that designates the viscosity grading system for oil. W represents Winter, meaning that the oil meets viscosity requirements for cold weather.

Number 10, 20, 30, 40, 50 indicates the viscosity or weight of oil. Low-numbered oil is thinner than higher (heavier) oil. In addition, the API and JASO markings indicate that Petron Sprint 4T motorcycle oils meet the indicated standards set by the American Petroleum Institute (API) and Japanese Automotive Standards Organization (JASO).

makoynoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5509455233436457668.post-29892257181850821522008-05-26T01:28:00.004+08:002008-12-10T07:31:41.261+08:00Petron Xtra Mile Challenge Champions Edition

New record is 1,402.4 kms on one full tank of Petron Xtra Unleaded

A new fuel economy record was set on January 18, 2008, in the Petron Xtra Mile Challenge Champions Edition with the winning car logging in a total distance of 1,402.4 kilometers on one full tank of Petron Xtra Unleaded.

Traversing the length of Luzon from Bangui just next to the resort town of Pagudpud in Ilocos Norte, all the way down to the southernmost tip in Matnog, Sorsogon, and then turning around to stop in Bgy. Bonifacio in the town of San Fernando, Camarines Sur, brothers Emilio “Tootsie” and Emmanuel “Mansu” Zayco broke their own prior record in a Honda Jazz 1300 automatic transmission sponsored by Honda Cars Kalookan.

By optimizing the superior fuel economy formulation of Petron Xtra Unleaded and the CVT (continuously variable transmission) technology of the Honda Jazz, Team Zayco Hermanos was able to reaffirm its dominance in Petron’s iconic fuel economy marathon run.

Coming in at second place was The Philippine Star team of Jeff Reyes and Lester Dizon, logging in a distance of 1,323.5 kms. In third place, at 1,318.3 kms, was the BusyBodies team of Roman Floresca and Delfin Perez, assistant business editors of The Philippine Star and Manila Bulletin, respectively.

The other teams competing in the Petron Xtra Mile Challenge Champions Edition also logged impressive distances, making it all the way from the take-off point in Bangui, Ilocos Norte down to Matnog, Sorsogon and backtracking through Bicolandia. Ron and Ronald de los Reyes of AutoReview placed fourth at 1,311.3 kms; Pocholo and George Ramirez logged 1,269.2 kms; Louis and Sheila Ramirez reached 1,267.3 kms; while Jess Garcia and Joseph Javier (DZRH-DZRB team) finished at 1,253.1 kms. The Team of Mike and Grace Asuncion was unable to finish due to a minor accident that caused some damage to their engine.

According to Petron president Kamal M. Al-Yahya, “The Xtra Mile Challenge proves that the superior formulation of Petron Xtra Unleaded delivers the best combination of performance and fuel efficiency. The Petron Xtra Mile Challenge encourages ordinary motorists to be more conscious about fuel economy as getting the most out of every liter of fuel is key to fuel conservation. The real winner of the Petron Xtra Mile Challenge is the Filipino consumer. Every one can go the Xtra Mile.”

All teams drove a Honda Jazz 1300 automatic transmission, with Honda Cars Kalookan, Honda Cars Quezon City, and Honda Cars Shaw as the official car sponsors. Supporting the event were Hewlett-Packard, Certina Swiss Timepieces, Speedlab, Top Gear magazine, and Gadgets magazine. The results were verified by official observers from the national auto club, the Automobile Association Philippines (AAP), and the national motoring press corps, the Car Awards Group, Inc. (CAGI).

makoynoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5509455233436457668.post-66615125953376245212008-05-26T01:15:00.004+08:002008-05-28T23:01:25.581+08:00Breakthrough fuel technology in Petron XCSCleaner burn, unrelenting power. These are what motorists can expect from the 95-octane Petron XCS Complete Combustion System, the first gasoline powered by premium organic combustion enhancers.

The Complete Combustion System in Petron XCS is a breakthrough additive technology that works on the vehicle’s entire fuel system to produce significantly improved performance in power, fuel economy, and exhaust emissions. Made from natural materials, the organic combustion enhancer is a special additive that creates a catalytic reaction to produce a more complete burn.

Petron pioneered in cleaning additives when it introduced the XCS with the Xtra Cleaning formulation in 1996 – the first such formulation in the Philippines. In 2000, with the shift to unleaded gasoline and fuel-injection systems, Petron XCS Plus was again the first to introduce Valvemaster, a recession and engine-protection additive. In 2007, Petron set a new standard in fuel with the breakthough gasoline, the Petron XCS Complete Combustion System.

As the industry leader in gasoline cleaning additives, Petron has long known that deposits in the fuel system tend to disrupt fuel flow resulting in power loss. But while other local players have only recently introduced their own versions of “cleaning” gasoline, the Petron XCS Complete Combustion System uses one of the most advanced additive formulations not only in the Philippines but worldwide.

The patented organic additive in Petron XCS has superior detergent qualities, which removes the deposits accumulated in the fuel system and prevents new deposits from forming, thus unleashing the maximum power of the engine.

Moreover, unlike other fuel blends, the Petron XCS Complete Combustion System cleans not just the engine but the entire fuel system, from the tank to the fuel pump to the fuel hose, to the engine up to the tailpipe of your car. Developed with Innospec, a global leader in fuel additives technology, the formulation of Petron XCS is the first of its kind worldwide—after lengthy research and certification from internationally renowned laboratories.

Motorists will also be delighted with the instant improvements they can experience from the Petron XCS Complete Combustion System, which begins to work as soon as you gas up, with a one-tank clean-up guaranteed. Continuous use of Petron XCS will benefit both new and old vehicle owners. It prevents deposits from forming in the fuel system of new cars for optimum engine performance. In older vehicles, it removes existing deposits in the fuel system for smoother response, better power generation, and improved fuel efficiency.

Truly unparalleled, the Petron XCS Complete Combustion System is an environment-friendly 95-octane premium gasoline specially developed for Philippine driving conditions.

Pownce it!

makoynoreply@blogger.com0
