Joint Venture Seekers

A review of Liz Tomey's Joint Venture Seeker...

I'm sure you don't have to be convinced of the power of Joint Ventures. I mean, you see the huge numbers all the time, right?

You know - "A million dollars in 8 minutes!!"

Well, thankfully there's a whole lot more to JVs than that.

There's actually room for "the little guy"... especially those that want to move up the ranks.

Liz Tomey is one heck of an example.

Her very first JV (for the first product she ever created) brought in $37,000 in just two weeks... ok, so it's not a million bucks, but it's not something to shake a stick at, either.

She describes that launch as "life changing," as it would be for just about anyone. Both she and her husband were able to stay at home with their 5 kids... and it literally set the foundation for their whole business.

Health And Beauty In 2008?

Hard to believe it's over five months since I last posted to the blog.

A lot has happened since then. Our big new venture for 2008 is a health and beauty project that will take most of the year to complete. This has been taking up most of our time but should be a valuable resource once it's done.

Hello Again!

It's been about 5 weeks since I posted to the blog and, if you live in the northern hemisphere, you may imagine that I was just enjoying our summer break.

But the truth is we've had houseguests for two weeks and unfortunately they brought the flu virus with them. Everyone in our house caught it and we're still in the recovery phase. We're just coming out of Winter in Australia and this particular strain of flu has affected a large number of people, resulting in death in a number of cases. But Spring arrived yesterday so we're getting ready to shed the extra blankets, put the heaters in storage and drop a few pounds so we can hit the beaches this summer.

Then I WILL be taking a couple of months off!

Sign Up With Big Daddy

Around this time last year I heard about a new search engine called Big Daddy. They presented themselves as an alternative to Google and Yahoo, but with a twist. Big Daddy actually allows you to earn APs or Advantage Points every time you search on your own personalized portal. You can then spend these APs on ads that are similar to Google Adwords. In other words, you're paying for Pay-Per-Click ads in virtual dollars, not real ones.

It's an interesting system. If you get your friends to do searches through your personalized portal, you get APs every time they click as well. So you can build up your points quite quickly and then spend them on ads.

Big Daddy is free to join and they offer some paid products as well. If you do Pay-Per-Click campaigns, it's worth taking a look to see if there's an advantage to your joining. Take some time to read through the info before making up your mind.

Outsourcing Tips

It's been a very busy month at JSL due to our search for a number of new freelance staff members. That's the trouble with training your staff too well - they eventually leave to devote themselves to their own increasingly successful Internet projects.

After a certain amount of testing, we decided to post the majority of our projects on RentACoder. Their system is very easy to use and we like being able to access essential information on the candidates up front. We haven't tried all of the outsourcing services at this point because we've been pleased with our results on RentACoder and also Guru.com.

So if you need some help with one of your projects, take a look at RentACoder first. You may need to try three or four freelancers until you find one that's a perfect fit, or you may be lucky immediately, as we were on one of our projects. Isn't it about time you took some of the weight off your shoulders?
