Vacation Rental Vs. Hotel

I've noticed that more people are choosing vacation rental homes when traveling these days than simply heading to the nearest hotel.

My family recently booked several rental units near Clearwater, Florida a for two week long family reunion and had an amazing time.

Some of the benefits of spending your holiday in a rental vacation condo or villa, rather than a hotel are comfort, privacy, and a unique vacation experience. Staying at a vacation home is especially convenient for large families who would otherwise have to book several hotel rooms to accommodate everyone.

I would love to spend a sunny week during the winter in a Caribbean vacation home. I can see why holiday rental units are becoming more popular than hotels, it seems as though spending a private week or two in a condo would be a very luxurious holiday experience, especially if you're traveling to a beautiful location with friends or loved ones.

"Hills" and "City" Aftershow Contest - MTV.ca

I'm not exactly proud of it but I do watch the reality show "The City" once in a while. I used to watch "The Hills" until I began to feel like every episode was pretty much the same.

For all of you die hard "Hills" and "City" fans there is a contest running right now on MTV.ca. One lucky fan and their friend will be chosen to go to New York City's "Hills Finale Aftershow" on December 1, 1009.

The winner will get to meet show MTV hosts "Dan and Jessi" and stars (I'm not sure which ones) from "The City" and "The Hills."

If you missed yesterday's Oprah Winfrey Show featuring the much anticipated "Sarah Palin" interview, you didn't miss much. The interview wasn't very revealing and after a half an hour I ended up turning the channel out of sheer boredom.

Still the media is buzzing today about the big "Sarah Palin/Oprah Winfrey" interview, and I'm sure Sarah Palin's new book "Going Rogue" will become an overnight best seller.

Toaster Oven Pizza Recipes

I realize that this is the age of the microwave but there is something special about the "toaster oven." I think that pizza recipes turn out much better in the toaster oven than the microwave.

Toaster ovens aren't just great for college students they are also great for busy moms, or a great addition to a work office kitchen. You can see all the different types of toaster ovens available and various toaster oven ratings at ToasterOvensGuide.com.

Here is my favorite "Toaster Oven Pizza" recipe, it's simple, cheap, and does the trick when you have a pizza craving:

2 pieces of bread or bagel slices
1/2 cup of your favorite spaghetti sauce
1/4 cup mozzarella cheese
1/4 cup diced green or red pepper
peperoni slices

Directions: Spread spaghetti sauce over bread or bagel slices, add mozzarella cheese, peperoni slices, and green pepper. Bake in toaster oven at 425 degrees Farenheit for 10 minutes or until bread is golden brown.

The movie "2012" may be scary but it's nothing compared to what the real life "2012 doomsday believers" think will happen to the world in a few years. This CNN.com video clip shows how far some people are going in preparation for what they believe will be "the end of the world."

Some believe that the 2012 is the year that the world will somehow self destruct because it's the end of the ancient Myan calendar and because of the famous "Nostradamus" 2012 prophecies.

You may have noticed Google's cool "Sesame Street" logo doodle recently. Google is always on top of the latest trends, and Sesame Street is a children's trend that's lasted for 40 years.

As the children's educational television program celebrates it's 40th year on the air, well loved Sesame Street characters Bert and Ernie, Big Bird, Elmo, Cookie Monster, The Count, and Oscar The Grouch are still popular household names.

Sesame Street was my favorite show as a preschooler back in the 1970's, and I can't think of one other show that has lasted so long on the air.

The Fridge Locker - Separates Food and Drinks - Keeps Away Moochers

Today I heard about a great product, the "Fridge Locker." Someone came up with the idea to create a locker that can be kept in the fridge, which can come in handy in many types of situations.

You could use the fridge locker to separate items like energy drinks, vitamins, medicine or alcohol from food, so children won't mistakenly get something dangerous out of the refrigerator.

Dieters could keep their special "diet foods" in the fridge locker, or bodybuilders could use it to keep their foods and powder mixes separate from the rest of the items in the fridge.

It seems this couple is more concerned with impressing the public through the media than actually working things out with one another.

The Debut of the "Michael Jackson" movie "This Is It" is right around the corner. Starting October 28, 2009 "This Is It" will finally be in theatres, something that Michael Jackson fans have been looking forward too.

This October 26 the "This Is It" CD will be released for sale. I'm a Michael Jackson fan but I will be waiting for the "This Is It" movie to come out on DVD. It looks great but I can't see enjoying the movie in a packed theatre.

"Women Only" Parking Spots - Video Clip

I just saw an interesting video clip on CNN.com about "women only" parking spots being created in Seoul, South Korea. Seems a little sexist right?

It sure doesn't look like the women of Seoul are too impressed with their new parking spots highlighted by a pink painted symbol.

I love the idea of parking spots for pregnant women or women with baby strollers, but just plain "women only" parking doesn't make much sense to me.

Heene's To Be Charged In "Balloon Boy" Case

You know it's been a really slow week for news when one of the top stories on CNN News is about "the balloon boy" Falcon Heene.

The more information we learn about the "balloon boy incident," the more it seems like it could be a hoax. Authorities are now planning on pressing charges, and have conducted a search of the Heene family home.

Over the past few days it's been revealed that Falcon's father Richard Heene called a news station before calling police to report his son missing, and the public is finding the fact that six-year-old Falcon Heene has been sick (vomiting) on live television interviews all week rather strange as well. Why drag a sick kid to multiple television interviews? It seems as though the parents would do anything to get on TV.
