Raggy's crystal ball

Hmmmmm, There is a strange object in the sky at the moment,.........shhhhhhhh, lol

Ok, Raggy's getting her crystal ball out, together with triangle headscarf and coins dangling,....and I predict that ........ the end of June will be a scorcher, through July we'll be praying for rain once more, and in August, with gardens fried, we'll have lost our faith in the power of prayer.

How do I know ??? - B'cos by the end of next week, - given just a few dry - ish days, the big changes in my garden will be finished, and if there is room for new plants they'll be going in, in any case existing plants will be in their new quarters, and so the weather is BOUND to be contrary to requirements for that situation.

.....and now that I've stuck my neck out the weather is going to prove me wrong! LOL.

Actually, so far, I think the weather has been about 'normal' ish. April has often been sunny and warm - hence the proverb, or whatever it is, - "N'er cast a clout till May be out". Maybe not quite so warm as this last April, ...but whilst we have had a long spell of rain this week, tiz only 'nature' catching up on April's 'ration'.
I've always needed the fire on, and electric blanket, till end of May, most years anyway.

Planting outdoors of baskets ( hanging type ) bedding and annual plants is seldom considered here ( my area, not me personally ) before last week of May at the earliest, most usually first week of June. I try not to be too ambitious, and leave as late as poss, they always catch up, if not surpass earlier planted stuff that has had a struggle to survive.

Here, and I think the whole country, has had snow in June before now, cater for the unusual, rather than the norm.

Whatever, I think we are in for a loooooooong dry spell at some point, before the summer is over, and I think this is a pattern that is forming, longer dry spells, longer wet spells, but over all a 'normal' average rainfall. However, this does make a difference to the types of plants we grow, and how long they can survive dry & wet periods.

Hello we are Glyn and Vanessa and we have a small business running three caravans on Quay West Holiday Park in New Quay, West Wales.

To show our caravans off to their best we have created a website at glyvan.co.uk. This website not only shows you about our business but also what the local area of Ceredigion has to offer anyone who would like a wonderful holiday in Wales.

I have been asked many times by people who ring us for information and to book holidays why we have a little dog on each page well her name is Scampi and she used to go everywhere Glyn went, where the car keys went she went and she was one of those little dogs that everyone stopped to pet and talk to so the young lady who put the website together thought of the idea to put her into the site as a surprise for us. Sadly our scampi passed away last October at the grand old age of 15 but we thought it would still be nice for you to meet her and travel through our web site with her
