Hey Zombie freaks! Rob here! I find that sketchbook "doodles" really let me try out designs that I would normally never get a chance to do in the real world like for a client for product design or a tattoo or something marketable. Of course,when these creations are finished or used on Zombie Daily,people often end up citing them as some of their favorites. I find that very rewarding!

Today is another section from one of the many pages of one of the many sketchbooks that I've kept over the years. probably have twenty five to thirty that I've kept since high school. Aide from being great ways to capture quick ideas they are also a great way to see your artistic growth over the years.Oh,y the way,check out the zombie dinosaur in the bottom right hand corner. I think I'd like to do more of those.

Another day another zombie image.Here is more from the 'ol sketchbook. The sketchbook is a great breeding ground for ideas. Stuff that goes in doesn't always come out however but a lot of it does end up becoming a finished piece somewhere down the line. Don't be surprised if you see this cartoony zombie become a painted piece someday. Enjoy!

Hey everyone out there in Zombieland! Rob here with some more sketchbook action! As you can see a sketchbook page can become very cluttered as ideas are drawn out very quickly and altered. But find that to be one of the fun things about it. It doesn't need to be all cleaned and finished or even functional. Keeping it messy releases constraints in your head and I find allows for more creativity.

Hey Zombiefans! A while back,I mentioned posting some sketchbook pages,well, here they are. A lot of people write in that they would like to see more process work,like how I draw zombies from the ground up,and a lot of times it starts with the sketchbook. This is where a lot of trail and error happens on the way to a finished piece and it is also a great place to just have a lot of fun and try out new concepts. So, for the next week or so I'll be posting sketchbook images for your viewing enjoyment. Let me know what you think.

Good day zombie fans and welcome to another daily zombie posting by yours truly,Rob Sacchetto. I usually own up to where my influences originate and or,who I pay homage to with each illustration,and today's post most reminds me of a comic book artist by the name of Marc Silvestri. He did X-Men and Wolverine comics Waaay back in the 'nineties and was one of the talented founders of Image comics with his creation of Cyber Force. I loved his very free breezy style and his fantastic depiction of babes. Once again in doing this drawing ,I did not have any of his artwork lying around,but once it was finished,it really ended up reminding me of Silvestris' style. Also I always thought that he would have been fantastic on a horror book.Check out his stuff if you are not familiar with him.

Hey zombie freaks,me again with more living dead imagery. This guy is just another shlep of a walking corpse who got really cheap tickets to his favorite teams' game and ended up in the nose bleed section. hey,sometimes zombies aren't real good in the thinkin' department. Any higher up and his nose bleed would constitute a head shot,thus ending the unfortunate ghouls afterlife. Hmmmm...interesting theory.

Hey Zombie freaks! I loved the design of the zombie from "Old Habits", that I decided to give him a little more life as a redraw. I really miss doing those totally bizarre,out-of-my-head,type ideas. This particular zombie head kinda reminds me of the 'Goldblum version of The Fly. Enjoy!

I was thinking that I've been ding a lot of the more "realistic looking" type zombies this time around in Zombie Daily,and I thought it might be fun to do the kind of living dead drawing that I did when I started the blog way back when (over 470 posts ago). So,here he is,a zombie who,probably in his former life was probably a bit perverted and went around flashing people his junk. I think it is perhaps a good thing that I chose draw this image from behind.

One of the treats of working on the documentary Zombiemania, was getting to capture people's inner zombie. Here is Boyd Banks, zombie extraordinaire who appeared as 'The Butcher' in Land of the Dead, Diary of the dead and the Dawn of the Dead remake.

This is our third one since launching Zombieportraits in late Nov '06, and Rob's got over 700 of his paintings around the world! The virus is spreading for sure... ;)

Recently, when we were in Toronto doing a book signing, our cabbie told us about how in Nepal, the doorways are all make very low. So low, that everyone has to duck to enter, even those of smaller stature. The reason, he said, is that the Nepalese believe that zombies lack the physical functionality and forethought to duck, thus protecting them from the living dead entering their homes...
