It's not that I actually want to dress like Angel. He does have a very practical look though, if you're looking at it. Maybe not for Los Angeles (there was one episode where this "swami" in Ojai asked him why he was wearing a long coat in 80-degree weather--apparently vampires have no body temperature, so it doesn't matter)...but for the TheBroadroom.Nethttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11474971338995816520noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5427090.post-1107811741313897382005-02-07T13:20:00.000-08:002005-02-07T13:29:01.313-08:00Okee...I put it on the template also. Hmmm...the climate here is very different. It almost never freezes. Conversely, it doesn't get that hot in summer either.

So cold! So far February has been like Spring. Yesterday was around freezing point and everyone was out. People even having drinks outside. I wore my Skechers and got them muddy but it was nice to not wear boots. Now, I'd be stupid to think it's going to stay like this. It'll get cold again before Spring really gets here. I am so not a cold-weather-clothing person.
The sole item I'd like to wear in cold weather, I don't own. I would love to have a long leather coat...all of my leather jackets are jacket-length. grumbles...

It's a bit odd in that it's Oscar fashion from different Oscars shows...the outstanding women's outfits.
I can admit that I do watch the Oscars and mostly just to see what the women are wearing. I TheBroadroom.Nethttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11474971338995816520noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5427090.post-1099544306591870522004-11-03T20:55:00.000-08:002004-11-03T21:01:23.273-08:00

In some ways I am living in the past though. There was some innovation before in the fall.
In fact I found this outfit for my daughter that was totally 70's. I mean the actual 70's, not the current pop version of it. It has a skirt with diagonal stripes (tone on tone) and an irregular hemline. Not exactly a butterfly hem. ? I never knew what they called it even TheBroadroom.Nethttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11474971338995816520noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5427090.post-1098641896068716782004-10-24T11:11:00.000-07:002004-10-24T11:18:16.066-07:00I'm here! I suppose I am "doing" some of this Fall's fashions. I have that poncho that you already know about... And I got some cropped jackets (one red and one beige). Plus, the leather jacket I got last Spring is actually in the right style for this year (short blazer style). But I don't call all this "doing" Fall fashion. Why? Hmmm...I went through a phase of first liking my 515's, then of being disappointed, then of liking them again. It could simply be a matter of breaking them in.
I should say, Levi's were the gold standard of jeans in the 1970's. That's also why I went through a phase of being disappointed. I felt the quality had gone down. I suppose it has some, but then it TheBroadroom.Nethttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11474971338995816520noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5427090.post-1096679093542323202004-10-01T17:57:00.000-07:002004-10-01T18:04:53.543-07:00Well I'm having fun over here. :)
The funny part...the second pair of the 515's fits differently than the first. Different rinses, exact same size, but different fit. *cough*outsourcing*cough*
The first pair fits perfectly. The second, I fried it in the dryer to shrink it. Yet it's still slightly big. I don't care overly much, since you can make pants look good by wearing a belt, up until TheBroadroom.Nethttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11474971338995816520noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5427090.post-1096503024791902692004-09-29T16:54:00.000-07:002004-09-29T17:14:20.300-07:00Here is a tip for trying on pants (unless you are super slim lol): you bring one pair into the dressing room that you think are going to be too big.
That way, if everything else you brought in ends up being too small, you still have something to try on. And if everything you brought in fits, you can pat yourself on the back. It's win-win.
It sounds funny but I actually did this.

I don't want to tell you how long it's been since I just went into a store and bought jeans. I've been going to the MAGS for years now. grumble
I decided against Marshall's. I dunno, I just wanted the retail store experience. i.e. I wanted to find out exactly what to get, rather than having to get whatever was there.
I ended up getting two pairs of jeans at TheBroadroom.Nethttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11474971338995816520noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5427090.post-1095711569727140172004-09-20T13:48:00.000-07:002004-09-20T13:19:29.726-07:00rotfl! I see your point...
I'm so far out of fashion, that the real fashion, and what I'm wearing, almost never coincide. I'm trying to think of the last time. Hermmmmm...probably in the 80's. ????? Maybe?
I think the thing is this. When I was growing up, there was this group of kids at school...I was very lucky...I went to school with the kids of educated parents. They see things TheBroadroom.Nethttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11474971338995816520noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5427090.post-1095296686344335382004-09-15T17:54:00.000-07:002004-09-15T18:04:46.343-07:00Ok, I have a rant about ponchos. It's not that I don't like them. In fact I love them! My mother made me one with a hood when I was a child. It was grey and very pretty. Not very practical with a backpack but I felt oh so pretty in it... For 15 years after that poncho, I didn't have one. When ponchos came back in style a few years ago (anyone remember that? I'm going to see if I can replicate that "volcanic ensemble" I have in the previous post--Doc Martens, faded jeans and a BR boatneck top. (Wasn't "volcanic ensemble" a phrase from Pretty In Pink?)
It says "On my model...curvaceous." Is this d@man program calling me fat? :p
