Hello everyone, here are the first flowers of our season, I just can't wait to see what our gardens have to offer, our senses this year. Come out and experience it for your self. Hi everyone it won't be long and the snow will all be a forgotten dream. We are already trying to get the mulching done, we are a small group trying to keep our wonderful Castle going. We are looking forward to your visit at the Castle. There is alot to discover in our let piece of Heaven, Bring a picnic lunch, and enjoy the beauty. But please take your garbage with you, it will help us out. Thank you all for the support you have given Sir Harry Andrews through the years,and now for his dream. Hello Everybody! I hope your all keeping warm.

we have been hit hard this season with the cold and the snow. The Greenhouse is holding in there, I hope and pray that it continues too do well. It is packed to the hilt in there, but looks great. I hope the Elephant ears holds in there. We placed them in the wrong spot, then last week we placed them in the greenhouse in sand. So we have our fingers crossed, We have awhile to go for any seeding, we don't do alot of seeding, we just don't have the room to do it all. Maybe one day we'll have the space. This is a pic of the Gorge under the parking lot, I just love this one. Well take care and keep planning your gardens during the winter and it;ll save you time during the season. Hello everyone, I hope your Holidays were good!! We are stunned bye this snow and freezing temps.We are still going strong inside the green house and inside the castle. We were going to do a mulch day this past Sunday. But Mother Nature had different plans. Sir Wes Durin was going too bring it down and we would of laid it all out. Well there is another day!! We appreciate the Durin Family,Sir Marvin, His wife and his two lovely Daughters. Thank you so very much, for your love and passion for the Castle. It shows through your hard work and your donating of materials. You are the best!!!. I just can't wait for the spring, all the beautiful new blooms, and smells. I'm sure we all are ready for warmer weather. So until then remember go as green as you can! The first one is too watch your containers, you do not need alot of soil, or a large pot for your plants. Look at the root system and you can tell what size you need. Plus roots don't like to set in water, they can rot and die. Plus you'll save on water!! So this is a start on going green, have a great day.

Hello everyone, hope you all are warm and safe,it has been a brutle winter already and it's just now starting. Every thing is nice and toasty in our green house, it is awesome.The Knights re-

placed our old plastic, and added 15

more years to our keeping our plants alive. I only get one to two days per wk too come to the castle. I am a full time worker, and a Grandmother of a seven year old so I don't get alot of time to do what is needed. I thank everyone for their help and participation of the grounds and the green house. I hope to add something new too our Sedium garden, I would like to add another special Rose

in our Rose garden.I have alot of ideas and no time to do it. I hope too see you all at our castle soon.

hello everyone!! sorry it's been since Nov. since my last blog. things are starting to get packed in the green house.

it won't be long until Rocky and Stoney will be under snow and I am

not ready for the cold. We are recycling the grape barbers of Sir Harry's, we are making a walk way and steps with a natural arbor, for vining plants to climb. I hope the heater in the green house holds up this year, we have alot of plants in there. Well We at the Castle sends our Holiday greetings to you and your family, have a blessed Merry Christmas and a wonderful New Year. Hello there sorry I haven't blogged you all lately, but my PC has been down. We have the green house full, and we have cleaned up from the scary night tours. We have been trying to keep up with the fall leaves,and dead heading the plants in our gardens. We didn't have a very long fall show this season.We have re plastic the green house, to pro long it's life, the old one went 13 years, so hopefully this will last 15. Come out and see the castle through the winter sat-sun from 11-5pm. Have a wonder full Holiday and start planning for the spring bulb show. See you soon at the castle.

well hello everyone, I have wonderful news!! The Knights have replaced the 13 yr. old plastic on our greenhouse. We needed to do it , we have over a hundred potted plants to bring in every year.The greenhouse is an awesome thing to have, every year we clone and dived, and seed . the Knights have been great by picking up my slack since I've been done and out.this has been hard for me to slow way down on my gardening and other work at the castle, but it will get better in time. I want to take this time and let you all know that the guys have been busy trying to dry up the castle and our garage, bye painting a sealer on top, and tuck pointing the outside of the castles walls.also the have laid new water lines for the watering to get easier for us ole folk. Also they have laid electric and cable and telephone pipe, They have been doing a great job!!! I just wished I could contribute more.Well let's get back to the gardens, please come out and check out the fall colors, and plants that are blooming now and til winter. You have to come out when it snows it is beautiful out here, just call first weather pending, we will close if it is bad, 513 -683-4686, or go on line to www.lovelandcastle.com. Well hello there here is the most asked about plant this growing season.We had giant red, giant green, and dwarf blue Castor beans,We grow a long wall of them. the birds are just living it. I have Cardinal climbers growing around them, the humming birds just love it. I just love sitting up on top and bird watch, when I 'm taking a break.I hope you got to go out and experience these Castor beans, to stand next to them is over whelming,but wonderful, Well can't wait until next year, and see what we will grow out here, come out through the year and see what

hello there,We have had a wonderful season as far as blooms and foliage, I am so glad that we have a camera to share with those that can't be here,to actually see our gardens and castle. Thank you to all of you that came out and wondered our museum and gardens. I hope if you had seen something growing out here, at the castle, you can go to marvin's organ. gardens's on state route 42. They will be happy to help you , design a wonderful garden, or answer any gardening questions you might have, Marvin and Wes Durin and employee's are great lovely people who really care. So help support them as the castle, they are two of our knights of the golden trail as well, so you would kill two birds with one stone.

this summer has been some what different, more cooler days then ever. Our rain that we had wasn't enough to water a fourth of our gardens, so thank you Sirs for helping to keep the gardens watered. It is not easy for a hand full of people to keep everything going, I still don't understand how Sir Harry did it all. I know no matter what I will continue to do what needs to be done, until I can't do it anymore. Then I hope my grandson will continue on for the castle.We do take extra help if anyone would like to come out and pull weeds, or help in any way. The gardens are still kicking with the summer blooms, so come out and enjoy these gardens. It won't be long and the snow will be falling, and I will be busy in the greenhouse, I will be busy all winter, because I pull many containers in, and I colone, do cuttings and multiplying all kinds of plants.I am excited for the next growing season, thank you for your support and interest. Hello followers, sorry I haven't been on my PC, but I have been in the hospital for 21 days. I was in a panic thinking no one had anytime to hand weed our gardens and dead heading them. I saw you had been down Mr. Marvin and Mr.Wes duren, I am just upset I wasn't there to see you both. I love and appreciate your time passion and work, It was a very nice surprise to see. I hope our gardens looked okay to you both.I had made mention that we had a night blooming Cerise would Bloom soon, well that freeze a couple of years ago hurt it, so it will Bloom next year, sorry to get every ones curiosity up. well hello there, sorry I haven't blogged lately. Have been alittle busy, but doing well, the weather has been rough at the castles gardens. But with alittle help our gardens are doing well, and blooming as planned. I don't know if the night blooming Cyrus will bloom or not this year??? you see we had a bit of a freeze in our green house awhile ago, our furnace went down,well it was given to us many years ago and it was ten years old then.It has been up for a year now, thanks to Sir Joe and a furnace guy!!I had two of them two years ago, but I only have one now, maybe I will transplant it this winter. Anyway, the waddling is going slow but continuing, half way there. It will be wonder full when it is complete! we already have had 100 people take pictures in front of it. It is awesome to do new things in our gardens that no one has around here. here are a couple of shots of the gardens, I hope you like them.

well here is the Voodoo Lilly it has

already bloomed. maybe two more days to enjoy it. It is one of the most interesting plants we have, I am so glad that I can have pics for you all to see. It only takes a few weeks to

get growing and then it goes quickly

so if you didn't come out this year mark it on the next calendar,for the following year. we also have a night blooming Cerise, this a special plant as well, it opens once a year. It Bloom's in stages,three to be matter of fact,another summer bloomer.it is white, and a pink center.I'll keep you up on it,so until then, have a great garden season.

It's called a Voodoo Lilly, we have two of them here,at

Addy"s garden. this flower is about to open up, I'd say in the next 2-4 days if that. So if your

interested come out and check it out. When it opens it smells terrible, flys are all over it.

and it gets slimy, but it is the coolest thing to see in your life. I'll get more pic's soon and

I'll post them for you. You need to get out here soon if you want to see some different kind of flowers blooming, we will plant more winter blooming flowers in the future, but for now come see,our summer blooming flowers then our fall plants.Well until next time,follow our web site

hello to all! the gardens are coming along, there are a few different projects going on at the same time, so please bare with us. We have started a waddle project, it will end up as a dome basket, it will have a sitting area where it will be shaded by plants and the basket, and at night it will have little white lights all over the inside. The the guys have been digging out our dry moat or Foss, clearing out the dirt and replacing it with gravel and paving stones. Put another bench in there,along with all our different begonias. every year we try to add more begonias and geraniums, we would love to have all of them. The knights also has been working on rain barrels to go in there, it will be awesome when they get done. So please bare with us when you come out to visit us.Sir Wes Durin has been out planting and sweating placing new plant materials, he has designed a rain garden for us on the upper level,next to Addy's corner. the reason for it is to filter the water that runs off the hill behind us,since the homes have been built 10-15yrs ago there is alot of water run off. so Wes has helped us to become educated on rain gardens and we put one in! So come out and check it out, it is cool,I love learning different stuff, keeps you young. And speaking of young,Iwas out at the castle Sunday and I had the wonderful Red Hats Lady's Society from Owensville, out in the gardens talking and sharing, well before they left, Donna and the girls made me an honorary Red Hat Lady, for I turned 50 in Jan. It was a beautiful red cowboy hat with purple trim and a huge red feather, I am proud to be 50!!!!!!! well enough of that, this is a picture of my late Princess, she was at the castle for seventeen years, letting thousands of people to pick her up and love on her. she was our Princess of our castle, She had an awesome brother named Tiberius, after James T. Kirk. They are together in their castle in the sky. I miss them both I helped raise them, we have seen coyotes down by the river so please careful after dark if you live in the loveland area, no one is talking about it so i thought I would sound off! well better go for now.

Hi everyone, I am so pleased to say that we have planted several different perinals,on mothers day. Sir Wes Durin out did him self once again with a wonderful selecton of plant materials and his blood sweat and tears. Along with other knights and Ladies of our knighthood. We have new maple trees, Helleborus,coral bells, sedums,climaitis, cone flower, bee balm, all kinds of plants. Please come out and see the beautifull flower displays. there is no thank you enough for the Durin family and thier garden nursery,they have been apart of our castle grounds for many moons.What a wonderful family. Thank you to all the voulenters of our knighthood,without our helpers there are no gardens just weeds growing all over everything.I am proud to be apart of such a wonderful place.See you soon,untill next time.

Hi every one I would be honored to say that we have a wonderful new project in our gardens. We are making a new sitting area on the great front wall in the corner.Sir Wes Durin donated greenhouse frames to us, and we will soon be weaving more or less a basket for vines to grow across.I can't wait, this will be so awesome!I love being out in our gardens, I feel so much closer to Sir Harry's dreams for his castle and for the gardens.so much thanks to the knights for their hard and sweaty work,everything is wonderful.
