Jason was on call all weekend, but it wasn't as bad as we anticipated. We actually got to spend a lot of time with him. We even got to hang out with some friends. Can't beat a cookout on the 4th!

Aunt DeeDee

My sister, Danielle, was here for the last week. We had a wonderful time with her here. She is an incredible young lady, and we all love her immensely! As some of you know, she is going to serve in Taiwan with the Journeyman program for the next 2 years. So, this was possibly the last time we will get to spend with her until she returns in the summer of 2011. We are so proud of her and so excited that God has chosen to use her in such an amazing way. But, we will all miss her terribly.

Please keep Danielle in your prayers as she serves the Lord and the people of Taiwan. She leaves for training in Virginia at the end of July, then heads to Taipei at the beginning of October. What an amazing adventure lies before her!

Reagan's First Haircut

On Monday, Reagan got her first haircut. We went to Pigtails & Crewcuts, which specializes in kiddie cuts. She was NOT excited about it. She thought it was going to hurt her. She refused to let me put her in the little chair. So, I just held her at first while the nice hair dresser played with Reagan's hair and told her how pretty it was. Then, she quietly picked up some scissors and started cutting while I distracted her. Reagan realized she was cutting it, but that it didn't hurt. So, she started to relax a bit.

Then, she decided she wanted to sit in the cute yellow taxi cab. Although she still wasn't quite sure about the whole haircut thing.

Finally started to smile.

She was sucking on that lollipop and driving that taxi - fully enjoying the haircut now.

Ortho Banquet

Last night was the Ortho Dept.'s Banquet for the outgoing Chiefs. They do a big banquet every year where they roast all the chiefs. It usually ends up as a roast for all of the residents and faculty as well. We always enjoy getting to visit with everyone. And, it's so rare to have a night out without the little ones.

The girls and I made a trip to Houston last week to visit my family. Reagan had a ball playing with Payton and Reese loved watching the bigger girls. It was precious. Our daily afternoon routine was to play out in the water. My mom got a little pool and slip n slide for them. Check out the fun!

Mean Old Wasps

While the girls and I were gone this past week, Jason got stung by a wasp. He was trimming a bush under a hive while jamming to his ipod when he heard a really loud buzzing and felt a sharp pain in his ear. It stung him in his ear! Isn't that crazy?!?

But, it's pretty much back to normal now.

I can hardly believe it, but Reese was 6 months old this week. I know that everyone says it, but time really does fly by so fast!! She's really starting to grow up. In just the past few weeks, we've had several firsts.

Fayetteville Family & Friends

This post is about a month late, but it's been a busy month.

While we were in Fayetteville we had the chance to spend a day with my cousin Martha. She's actually my mother's cousin - my 2nd cousin. What would she be in relation to Reagan & Reese? I've never understood all that 3rd cousin once removed craziness. We had a great time catching up with her and her husband Mike.

We also had a great time catching up with some friends. Jeff & Chrissa moved to Fayetteville from Little Rock about a year and half ago. While we were there, they made us a nice homecooked meal, introduced us to some Fayetteville pizza, showed us beautiful walking/running tracks, shared their computer charger, and invited us to their home church. Thanks, Hickles, for some good times!

My Birthday Weekend

We made a trip back to Little Rock a few weeks ago and managed to squeeze as much as possible into the weekend. The 19th was my birthday, and Jason makes me a special dessert every year. This year he made a cheesecake. He was so cute working on it. He wanted it to be perfect. He even baked it in a water bath!! Then he spread Nutella on the sides with some roasted almond slices. He did a fantastic job. It was delicious!!!

Reagan decided we all needed freckles, so she found an eyeliner pencil and proceeded to give them to us. You may have to enlarge the pictures to see the freckles that well. I thought it looked like we were all going through puberty with major breakouts.

Yes, Reagan is just hanging out in her panties. She never liked to run around in just her diaper, but that is not the case with panties. She loves to wear them by themselves.

We also had a baby shower for my dear friend Rebecca Lee. She is expecting little David in early June. Here are the hostesses - me, Jennifer, Rebecca, Wendy, & Stacie

Wilderness Safari

On Saturday, we went to Gentry, AR. There is a Wild Wilderness Drive-thru Safari with animals galore. We all had so much fun.

We saw baby monkeys too. In this area, there were some really loud birds, which is why Reagan is covering her ears. She hates loud noises.

Jason fed this camel and the other one tried to come get some too. But, the first one was not willing to share. She started going after #2's neck. Then she followed us down the length of fence. I think she thought Jason was cute!

Easter Egg Hunt

On Easter weekend, we found a huge Easter Egg Hunt going on in Rogers, AR, just minutes from Fayetteville. So, we headed over to check it out. There were over 600 kids there. Reagan was in the 0-3 group, and she was very excited as she waited with her Daddy to get started. They blew the whistle, Reagan started to pick up eggs, then she was quickly over taken by the bigger, older kiddos. The whole hunt lasted about 30 seconds. She got 5 eggs. To quote Reagan, "Those big kids are too fast!"

Anatomy Lesson

Potty training has been going great!! And, along with all this potty time has come body questions.

Scene 1

Reagan: "I wiped my tushie!"

Mommy: "Honey, that's not your tushie. Your tushie is in the back."

Reagan: "Then, what's this called?"

Mommy: uh, oh, what do we call it? "That's your va-jay-jay."

Reagan: "My jay-jay?"

Scene 2 - Five minutes after tee-teeing in the potty and climbing in bed

Reagan: "I need to go potty!"

Daddy: "OK, let's go."

Mommy: "Honey, you just went. Are you sure?"

Reagan: "Yes, I need to go tee-tee."

After sitting on the potty for several minutes

Reagan: "You're right. There's no more tee-tee in my jay-jay."

Scene 3 - Jason had just gotten out of the shower and was wrapping himself in a towel when Reagan walked in

Reagan: pointing at his towel, "Whatcha' got back there, Daddy? Is that your jay-jay?"

Daddy: I'm not ready to have this talk with my 2 year old daughter. "No, sugar, boys don't have jay-jays."

Reagan: "What do boys have?"

Daddy: "Boys have pee-pees."

Scene 4 - while sitting on the potty

Reagan: "What do boys have?"

Mommy: "What do you mean?"

Reagan: "Girls have a jay-jay. What do boys have?"

Mommy: ummmmm "Boys have a pee-pee."

Reagan: "Daddy has a pee-pee!"

Mommy: "Yes, he does. What do you have?"

Reagan: "A jay-jay! And, you have a jay-jay, and Reese has a jay-jay! "

She proceeded to go through all of our family and friends and tell me who had jay-jays and who had pee-pees. If you are reading this and wondering if you were covered . . . yes, we covered everyone!
