Since then I have done very little sport apart from the odd round of golf. Last Christmas 2006, I decided to try running to lose weight and conscious that the big four O was approaching. I started running regularly in April and found running 2 miles a struggle. By July I could run for 1hour 15mins covering a distance of about 9 miles. I took it very easy over the school holidays (I am a teacher) and started running regularly again in October.

This is when I was offered the Silver bond place by Hammer Out for the 2008 London Marathon. Since then I have run regularly; 3-4 times a week. During the week I run in the evening after putting the children to bed. My plan was to see how well I went up until Christmas and then get a proper training plan in the New Year. My goal is to complete the marathon in less than 4 hours. For the past two weeks I have currently been running three 6 mile runs a week and a 12 mile run at the weekend. However, last weekend I caught my first cold of the year and I was not able to complete my 12 mile run.Running For Paulnoreply@blogger.com
