Christa Parrish graduated high school at 16, with every intention of becoming a surgeon. After college, however, her love of all things creative led her in another direction, and she worked in both theatre and journalism.

A winner of Associated Press awards for her reporting, Christa gave up her career after the birth of her son, Jacob. She continued to write from home, doing pro bono work for the New York Family Policy Council, where her articles appeared in Focus on the Family’s Citizen magazine. She was also a finalist in World magazine’s WORLDview short story contest, sponsored by WestBow press. She now teaches literature and writing to high school students, is a homeschool mom, and lives with her family in upstate New York, where she is at work on her second novel.

I am so sad that I have not been able to read this yet! I have followed Michelle on her blog as she's been published, and I've even given my opinion on different book covers. It's been fun to hear about the joys of her first novel and I've been looking forward to reading this one! I'm hoping to get it read and reviewed soon. Congrats to Michelle!

Update: I read this book very quickly~ once you start, it's hard to put it down! For myself: I did enjoy the book, and it did remind me of the struggles that many teens and YA singles go through. For my teens: as a homeschool mom, who is encouraging my children to court and save their first kiss til their wedding day, I would not recommend this book to them. This is definitely a book for teens and adults that have faced issues with dating, drinking, etc.

This book was good to point out that just since you go to church doesn't mean you're a Christian. I also liked how it encouraged you to have a personal relationship with the Lord. I read the first chapter of Michelle's 2nd book which will come out next year, and I look forward to continuing the story about Susie and seeing what the Lord does in her life.

Normally, I don't like to know anything about a book before I read it and I never read the back cover. So, I opened this book and the first character we're introduced to doesn't match the cover. Then the second character is Rose and right when her story was getting exciting we switch to Anne. Unfortunately, it took me a while to even realize that I was reading about real people from the past! I don't normally think of myself as slow, but this time I was crawling!! So, my suggestion is to know a little more about this book than I did and it will be much easier to follow! I think Ginger did a good job on showing another side of Anne Boleyn and look forward to more of her historical fiction novels.

Matt Bronleewe is a recognized producer, songwriter and author. This was my first book to read by Davis Bunn, and he did not disappoint! I was immediately pulled in to Wayne's character and the others he comes in contact with. I did not hardly put the book down until I was done. One thing I really appreciate is, Davis did a great job of keeping this action-packed book clean where I can hand this to my teenagers and not be concerned about what they're reading. I will definitely be reading more of his books!

Favorite line in book: The worst kinds of addiction are those of the heart. Anger and bitterness don't wound the body like drugs, they gnaw deep down...and hollow out your soul. [But] no matter what you carry with you, the Lord can make something good of this, if you let Him.
