Just played at Wheeling Jesuit and Seton Hill and Had a Blast. It all started with a little gig at a little furniture store. Ok, it was big deal and a benefit for breast cancer. Some money was made for a great cause and we got to really dress up! I hope someone took pictures. We then drove 16 hrs to Wheeling and rocked hard. GREAT people there at WJU. We attended a Service day at Seton Hill about an hour away saw some folks, cleaned a little and then rocked the Hogwarts style cafeteria to a stunned crowed eating Ribs and other assorted goodies. Fun was had by all especially Us.
Well that's it for now. Stay tuned for more BIG NEWS! in the Future and will write something too.
JT

Fort Pastorhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04974949928848204227noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5369510999680542143.post-66346119382232279372007-06-23T07:30:00.000-07:002007-06-23T07:40:07.200-07:00News, Noise, and other stuffHey Folks, it's JT. FP is home for a few weeks. Jono is back in OZ. Brant is slaving over a guitar store register. (helping out a friend. We don't call it work) I am at home trying to figure out how to make my wife a macaroni necklace that looks killer. The boys and I are excited about next year. Playing shows at all the schools in North America. (Ok a few schools in North America), but better yet the Social Justice Army. SJA is just a little fella right now, but hope are hi. We are feeding him a steady diet patience and persistence and are sure he is going to grow beyond measure. Stay with us over this break we will be posting here and working on getting some music up on our myspace, fortpastor live site. www.myspace.com/fortpastorlive. Now for holiday stuff. Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays and we wish for the best in all our lives and the lives of the people around the world. God Bless and Hoo Roo. (Aussie for see ya later) I think.
J.T

Fort Pastorhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04974949928848204227noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5369510999680542143.post-38990441866421971552006-11-30T14:17:00.000-08:002006-11-30T14:36:47.387-08:00End of the Year...Well, its B-Rant chiming in as we just finished our last date for 06 at the World Beat Cafe in Melbourne, FL. After a crazy start to the night with confusion running amuck...we settled into the night and played 2 sets including a bunch of new songs from the next FP CD to be out in 07 sometime. Thank you to our loyal local fans that came out and dealt with "THE VELVET ROPE!" Which for those of you that were there, know that the rope was unexpected and unnecessary and handled by the Rope Nazi's.

A special thank you to my best friend, Olivia, who TOTALLY surprised me by showing up at the concert un-annouced thanks to the sneaky help of JT. I don't get a chance to see her all that much and with the hecticness of the night...I had called her to bitch about all that was going wrong. She was listening patiently as she always does and as I am ranting I notice a car that looks exactly like hers pulling into the parking lot. Low and behold, she had drove over 2 hours to see our last performance of the year. She totally got me, which for one that doesn't get "gotten" all that much, it was much appreciated. Oh I love her so:) Thanks ONP!

We are editing up the 100Gig+ of video we shot for the documentary and should have some sweet video for your review in the near future. 2006 turned out to be some of what we expected and much of what we did not. We accomplished things that we never intended to and fell short of things we thought we would easily overcome. Isn't that how God works? Dang it. So...we have set some goals for next year and fine-tuned the gameplan to make it happen. Now we can watch it unravel in slow motion right before our eyes:) All the plans in the world are great, but unless your heart is in the right place...failure ensues. We feel like we are more focused than ever with the Social Justice Army and the mission it holds. People are wanting to be become involved with the SJA and that is what its about for us. The music will take care of itself if we take care of what we are called to do.

SO...I hope everyone ate too much turkey and are in the throws of Christmas shopping. May you all have the best holiday ever and thank you for the blessings that you are to us.

We really do love you all.

Big Kisses (Except to the guys...the standard 2-pat handshake hug is appropriate)

B-Rant

Fort Pastorhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04974949928848204227noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5369510999680542143.post-17024704446831338742006-11-22T14:05:00.000-08:002006-11-22T14:13:19.208-08:00Home AgainIt's J.T and I am posting for the 1st time in a while. Jono has been working on the site and I must say, I am Impressed. The Van Lexie Vegas served us well on this long trip to Tx and Back. WTAMU my alma mater Formerly WTSU was great. We met lots of Students and Skip and I talked over old times. The school has changed a lot, but is still very much the same. We even mangaed a WT football game. Fun was had by all. Our Trip to Dallas Rocked with some hotties in tow Kirby Jo and Allie we hit Dallas by storm. The APCA conference was a blast. Kirby Jo, Allie, Dirk, Fez, Brad and Skip all from WT were there and we rocked the showcase and then some. Those guys are great. Can't wait to head back up there. Now we are home and Thanksgiving is tomorrow. WOW time goes by fast. I am happy to be home with my beautiful wife and am looking forward to some time with her over the holidays. The Texas trip was a beauty. Chock full of laughs, craziness, and even fuller with good folks!

First stop on our Texas trip was West Texas A & M University in Canyon, where we slipped easily into our role as musicians and food critics.... After playing 'What I Am' live on the university radio, we performed a concert for the 'Defend the Fort - with Fort Pastor' and then judged the 'Feel the Thunder' chili cook-off. A "ludicrously tasty" evening!

We trekked up to Dalhart to say a big howdy to J.T's folks and spend a few days eating some seriously good home cooking. We managed to put down the cutlery and pick up our instruments for a performance at the '1st Baptist Church', and got to walk down memory lane with J.T. as he took us all around the little ol' town he grew up in.

The final part of our trip was the APCA (Association for the Promotion of Campus Activities) Conference in Dallas. This is basically where a whole bunch of representatives from colleges (about 53 different schools) in the area come together to scout out what entertainment they will book for their school for the year. They watch a couple of days of showcases, in which musicians, poets, comedians, magicians etc. all get 15mins to show off their skills and try to impress the college kids. Following each showcase is an opportunity for folks to wander the exhibition hall, in which performers and agencies run booths displaying info on their acts. Well, in true Fort Pastor style we didn't really follow the mould.... The idea is to make an impression, so we set out for a crazy 15 minute showcase in which we started out actually trying to perform badly (!) and for the exhibition hall we dressed up in tuxedos and served free pickles and cheese at our booth!!! Basically just for laughs and for people to remember us... I mean honestly, who wouldn't remember 3 guys in waiters outfits offering some random appetizers???

If you've seen one of our live shows, you probably heard Brant tell some stories about the amazing sleeping vocalizations of our beloved guitarist J.T. Well, we purchased a voice activated recorder on this trip, and after hiding it in J.T.'s room managed to get some sweet recordings for our 'Sleep Talking With J.T.' segment of our upcoming 'Road-umentary' video series. It's absolutely Hilarious!!!!

So 3 weeks and over 3500 miles later, we are happy to report that Texas showed us a fantastic time. A big thankyou to everyone who supported us out there. Especially Skip and the crew from West Texas A & M University , Mr Bill Keel and Miss Edna, Jay and Kyle at the 1st Baptist Church, and all our mates at the APCA conference.
- jono.

Fort Pastorhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04974949928848204227noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5369510999680542143.post-22517191121004671122006-11-16T21:57:00.000-08:002006-11-16T22:09:50.861-08:00The All NEW FORTPASTOR.COM!Welcome to the brand new fortpastor.com! Jono has been hard at work designing the new site and we are stoked that you can see his hard work. We are writing you from our hotel room in Dallas TX at the APCA Conference where we will showcase for over 50 schools on Saturday.

Things are going GREAT for the band we are so excited about the progress we are making with the Social Justice Army. You would swear we were 13 year old girls talking about the boys they think are cute by the way we talk about the Army and where it is going. We have several chapters beginning to form in FL, GA, TX and NH! We have set a goal for next year for 2000 total members. It will be challenging but we feel it is achievable with hard work.

Finally, we are almost finished writing for our next CD which won't be available til July 2007. The new songs are keeping us passionate about the mission for this band and we can't wait to share some of them with you all. The new CD will be much more of the 'Live' sound that so many of you have asked for. Lots of Didge, percussion and the FP sound you have come to know and love.

Please keep us in prayer as we have BIG plans for 2007 and it will take a team effort to reach our goals.

Peace & Courage!
Your boys in the Fort

Fort Pastorhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04974949928848204227noreply@blogger.com0
