In fact I think that is not even just european or just american problem, more the new cultural habit to eat... out. Exactly, you'd never put half a liter of oil or a package of butter if you're coocking for yoruself while chefs will do anything you'd not think your meal is not delicious enough. Too bad, for amny people greasy=delicious.
