is it just me, or do water plants have the best colours? The blues and pinks and yellows are more intense than regular land plants.

oh how i love skate shoes!! LOVE LOVE LOVE! my feet are sensitive and get blisters within 5 minutes of walking if it's not the right shoe. So i have lots of skate shoes. These are the latest. they are PRETTY!! :D

i love Lady Gaga's new video. As far as lyrics and sound does, she's mehh..ok...it's catchy music and i think it's cool. But what i LOVE is the creativity that goes in her performance art. I truly think it's performance art. Much like Marilyn Manson. (I think they should do music together). They both have this interesting undertone mystery imagery that goes with their music that most people don't understand. I also would've loved to see the Gaga/Kanye tour, but we know what happened there.

ok...breathe breathe...i'm so SO fortunate that my little home business is blooming like a little dandelion in spring, but why does everything have to be due on the same date? napkin rings, custom clutches, headbands, clothing...!!

I have to tackle a big order soon. I hate how shipping time plays a part because i need to ship out 2 weeks before due date, and if i didn't have to do that, i'd have more time to work on this. I should look into next day shipping charges. Would help a lot.

Also...I get to send my handmade clothes to a REAL shop soon. I think that's the coolest thing. So far i've been sending my hair clips and purses to shops, but not clothing. That's special i think because it sounds like a neat little place.

But in the end, when works gets too busy, I pretty much want to do like Peanut in the picture above. Put my paws up and wait for a belly rub :D

art shouldn't be a "business". It's hard being a designer/artist and have to deal with everything yourself. I wish i had someone that would be hired solely to be my "thick skin". I shouldn't let people get me down when they don't like some small thing about my work, or when people think something's off with my work. No. It's not "off". It's meant to be that. Why are you telling me how to do my work?

I also shouldn't be bothered when I see people having things made EXACTLY like mine and priced the same in their shop.

You know Dali said that he's happy when people steal his ideas because he doesn't have all the time in the world to materialize all the ideas he's got.

Yeah....I guess...

I'm 100% for creative inspiration. I browse other people's shops and favorite good ideas as reference. Say a neat dress pattern. Or stitching ideas....but i've never copied anything 100%. I think that's a low step to my creativity as an artist.

I actually feel a bit guilty and a hypocrite because i'm actually working on a few pieces of "textile art"...essentially it's the use of random words or poetry(my own) stitched on fabric, with other pieces of fabric. Like a collage of fabric. And then i'll add paint of some sort. All this was inspired by someone else. But she doesn't use paint.

sigh...the business of art is a tricky one.

Ok here's a rant....

so today I got my first negative feedback. The customer in question ordered a bunch of flowers and she didn't tell me whether she wanted brooch pins or hair clips. I waited and waited. I sent THREE emails. Basically all my emails went ignored and after a while i sent the flowers with glued on hair clips and free brooch pins in case she wanted to replace them. I also wrote a note explaining why i did that. But she chose to leave negative feedback on the fact that the brooch pins were not attached. And that the flowers aren't right.I've sold HUNDREDS of flowers and not ONE person complained! NOT ONE! Also...why don't people know that not all computer screens show the same colours? "not as pictured". I take PROFESSIONAL PHOTOGRAPHS of my etsy things. PROFESSIONAL!! with an SLR!! I majored in photography. I had classes on lighting and set up!! How are my products not as pictured???

thanks for the negative feedback. Lesson learned..don't leave feedback until they give YOU feedback cos i sure would've LOVED to slam this one.

i'm up at 4am because there's too much commotion going on in my head. My leg muscles are also spazzing. I don't know what it is really, but it pretty much feels like muscle pain coming out of nowhere....

thoughts of..

-puppies-i wish i could split myself and look into the future and see A)life with no puppy and B) life with puppy and see which is better. Do new parents go through this? "do i have this kid and risk ruining his life and possibly inhabit a future troublemaker in my body for 9 months? or do i stay put and enjoy my freedom??"..
-summer- i wish! *note to self: make friends with more people down south*
-walks- i like walks in the summer...
-film- i need a good mind blowing roll of film. SOON!
-cameras- want! too many and nothing to photograph!
-annoying ebay sellers- never doing an exchange and bidding on the exchange item before i get a refund ever AGAIN
-losing patience with certain males- it's true what they say: the good ones are taken and if they're not taken, well...you should wonder why. It's never about not wanting to be hooked up, it's not wanting to be tied because there;s more other things to do that good boys with girlfriends don't/can't do.
-puppies....i like them. They're soft and cuddly and ...why does my cat absolutely have to sit right in the MIDDLE of the bed when she comes to cuddle at night?? LOL no joke...my cat sleeps right in the middle of the bed. I often wake up not being able to move and i nudge her in my sleep and i wake up realizing "omg i'm hurting/squishing my poor cat" and all i get is evil eye from her and a facial expression that pretty much says "do you fuckin mind? i'm trying to sleep!".

My most recent film swap was done with a new photo friend from germany. I want to have one photo friend in every country! That would be so cool.

So anyways, between us, there's 5 rolls. The first one got developed last night and I'm not too pleased with the results. Maybe because i haven't had one great art piece in a while, that I was expecting things to come out amazing.

I tried my new Smena, and then cross processed the film. Here's a shot

as you can see...the second shot overtook the whole thing. This was shot by me. The swap's take isn't showing at all.

I was also supposed, or wanted to, drop off another film swap with Houston but the film pickup generated much disappointment.

A few days ago, i saw this cute little daschund at the petshop and i thought...awww cute!

here's the stuff i've been working on for the past 2-3 weeks. Sometimes it goes slow...sometimes it goes fast..but in the end, it's good to be happy with the result. So what happens is that i'm given a colour scheme and work with that. But it's like a fabric dye lot. If i do pinks this time, the next batch of pinks will be different. Because i like variety and i think it's important to not make everything the same.

This time I was asked to do something on the "creamsickle" flower i made, and a purple hairband.

and this is the hairband i came up with for that theme:

and then my FAVORITE...the purple hairband. Oh i LOVE IT!! i'm going to make something similar for my etsy shop.

but really.....i need to figure out a good winter photoshoot lighting technique because i am SO disappointed with how these came out. No light= lower aperture and slow shooting= blur,darkness,bad colours, blehh!
