WE had the pleasure of having the Osborne family on board for a weekend of Fishing action. Saturday we stayed close to the beach and had a mixed bag of Triggers, Mackerel, Blues, and Sea Mullet. Sunday we headed off the beach on another beautiful day and had success again!!! WE hauled in a 78 pound yellowfin and caught add tie Jacks the could stand.... and oh yea Lesslie caught her first Cobia too!!!!! They own and operate Action Plumbing right on the beach... if you need help give them a call... Thanks you guys it was truly a wonderful two days!! See you soon .... Capt. G

Gaffers and Jacks

The wind finally fell out and we were off with the Byrerly Family on there annual family fishing trip. We had a beautiful day and great fishing, catching 15 gaffer Dolphin and a few Jacks as well. Thanks to you all. We look foreword to doing it again!!! George

Last weeks fishing

We had a week of wind and choppy seas but the fishing continued to be good on the Sea Hunter. There were great catches of Spanish Mackerel and Bluefish just inside the Inlet and in the sound... Guess the fish did not like the rough seas either. Thanks to all of you who chartered us!! Capt. George

For the last few days the wind has been steady from the East making the ocean choppy.... rough... but the fishing has been good. The sound waters behind the inlet have held good numbers of Spanish Mackerel and Bluefish for all our trips. this is some great light tackle action... and some Great Eating!!! Thanks to all of you the past week, we had a great time and look foreword to seeing you again soon. George

We have been on a roll the last week fishing every day and having good catches to boot. The spanish mackerel and blue fishing has been steady, and the flounder have been biting too... Charlie Crabtree and family were off with us again this afternoon looking to get some meat in the box. As soon as we set out it was on... Great Spanish Mackerel and Bluefish action. After an hour or so it was off to find the big one!! Conditions were not optimal ,and there was cold water both up and down the beach, but we put our time in. We ended up hooking a 50# cobia but she ended up winning and pulled the hook.... can't catch em' all. Thanks you guys.... we always enjoy having you and look forward to next year..... Capt. George

Charlie Crabtree and family went for the BIG ONE this afternoon and were awarded with this nice 45# Cobia as well as a few blues and spanish......good job

The Tuesday morning trip with Ray Deck and family produced a good catch of Spanish Mackerel and a 30# Cobia to boot. Thanks guys......George

We are off and running for the summer season. We headed off the beach to the deep on a shakedown cruise and the old girl still has some fish raising power. The bite was scattered but we managed a good catch of dolphin!!! Spots are filling up for full and half days..... Don't miss out!!!

After 2 months in the yard the Sea Hunter in back in her slip and ready to go fishing. I will have some pics later today. Give us a call @ 252-312-7858 to reserve your spot. The Cobia season is getting started down south full day trips have a shot from now till mid july. Half days are having steady bluefish action......more to come

Since my last posting we have been on a steady SLOW pace to get the old girl back to fishing status. For a while there it seemed like every other day was rainy, cold and windy putting us behind schedule. Now it has turned off hot and dusty, but we are getting it done!! Hope to be back in the water by the middle of next week and ready to go by Mother's Day weekend... as long as the weather holds and the shipyard gods are with us..

On the fishing front.... cold water is still on the beach but a warm up is expected, especially with the hot temps...... off the beach if you find the warm water you have a shot at tunas and dolphin and some Bluefin as well.. I have not had a bottom fishing report but they are there... you just have to find them. All in all it is starting to shape up .... you just have to get out there.... G

Getting Busy

Wow, what a long winter it was but we are out of hibernation and giving the old Sea Hunter spring maintenance. WE are replacing the cockpit floor and various other odds and ends. You can clearly see we have our work cut out for us. Spring and Summer fishing is around the corner so get ready!!! WE should be up and running early May if all holds good. With the cold weather finally in place, there is starting to be a good influx of bait, birds, and YES Big ROCK starting to be picked up by boats fishing from the upper Nags Head Area to the North. Big Bluefish have been hooked up as well. It should only get better in the coming weeks with the best of it being from after Christmas till late Janurary. THe fishing continues to be good off of the back of the Sea Hunter with catches of blues, spanish, cobia , Tilefish and assorted bottom fish inside as well.
