Here's an ultimate time-waster: find a lesser-known/up-and-coming fashion person on Facebook, and scan their friend list. You will stumble upon legit fbook profiles of the high and mighty. Obviously, they're all on private, but it's still thrilling to see self/casually-photographed profile pics. These are people who have been photographed by living legends, and it's interesting to see the photo they choose to represent themselves. That takes off the creeper edge of this activity, right? haha who am I kidding, it's the Golden Age of the Creeper! Thanks to fbook and myspace, we're all creepers.

It's crazy to think that one could 'Add Nicole Trunfio as a friend" or "Send Prabal Gurung a message" just like we regular folk could with a click of a mouse.

It's tempting to link these well-connected fbooks, but I'm not that shitty! But, because I can, here's a collection of fbook profile pics.:

More Fashion Groupie-ing at NYFW

Today on my way home from dinner, my cabbie made a fortuitous left turn onto 25th St from Park Ave. Upon turning, we were stuck in a jam at that block. My cabbie started cursing and honking, but my excitement knew no bounds. The standstill was outside the side entrance of the Armory...aka location of the Marc Jacobs show! The side entrance is THE place to enter. Celebs, models in topknots and kabuki faces, and paparazzos galore! I had the urge to open the window and stick my head out doggy style, but I refrained. I also kind of wanted to hop out of the cab and...I don't know what I would do, but that! It was hard to see who was canoodling wit the high density of paparazzos, but my cab grazed Emily Blunt. Cameras were going crazy for a lady with long wavy blonde hair, but I guess I'll discover who it is when I see the photos!

I have no camera to document my life, so bear with me as I can only put it in words.

As far as Fashion's Night Out: Wish it was a longer event. There was simply too much going on to cover in 5 hours. Truly, Halloween for the fashion set. I missed out on the spectacles at Barney's :( , and I didn't bother to wait in the LONG line outside Opening Ceremony. I spent the good part of the night in SoHo. By the time we made the trek to Midtown, the weather turned on us! Spotted: Sienna & Savannah Miller, Magdalena Frackowiak walking home on a deserted East Village street post-FNO

Being a Fashion Groupie in NYC

I had a moment.

Today I went an hour early for the public viewing of Gareth Pugh's new 'movie' at Milk. While waiting outside, I creeped on Diane von Furstenberg's post-show party at her Meatpacking flagship ala Rob outside of Charlie's boyfriend's place in High Fidelity. Minus the yelling, "You bitch!" I was very confused, because no one else was waiting for the free screening. It was just me and my friend, Ash. Meanwhile, crazy fireworks were going off. Can't figure out what it was for, and apparently neither can the Twitter team at styledotcom.

Anyway, the Gareth Pugh 'movie' wasn't what I expected. It was actually a film instillation of four screens in a cube formation. Each screen had its own narrative, following the same soundtrack. The films lasted about 5 minutes each, and were on loop. People randomly filtered in the warehouse where the instillation was. I asked 3 security guards about Gareth making an appearance, but to no avail. He was chilling at the dinner in his honor upstairs. Instead of hanging for the hour that the films were on loop, I headed home!

What a great time to have moved to NYCitay! I'm excruciatingly nerdy aka I like to do things right, because I LOVE making city guides and planning out my days/routes with Google Maps.

I LOVE this collection. It's a good thing I'm relocating to NYC just in time to pick this collection off the sales rack, if it even makes it there! Anyway, nothing original here, but I love me my new wave/post-punk style. I love Topshop jeans, and the latest incarnations are everything I need in the pants department. I've been scouring antique/vintage/thrift stores for this fit, but to no avail. Now I can get them brand spankin' new!

Groupie-ing! Grouping? Anyway.

I went to the lecture entitled Conscientious Consumption: Sustainability and the Future of Luxury tonight at the Hammer. It was facilitated by Sally Singer (fashion news and features director of Vogue), Kate Mulleavy (half of Rodarte), Tom Binns (jewelry designer/punk), Adriano Goldschmied (denim god), and Christina Kim (Dosa creator and designer).

I didn't really feel like the topic of fashion and environmental and economic changes was productively addressed. Nevertheless, watching a drunk Tom Binns was slightly amusing.

The key notes of the lecture were:

-Buy less, buy well.
-Consumers, make your fashion yours/make your own fashion.
-Know what your paying for.
-I'm f***** Angelina Jolie. I'm wearing these f***** emeralds.
-In tight times, consumers want to return to what they're comfortable with. (looser pants) - AG

I had a chance to meet Kate Mulleavy and I got to be the first to inform her of Christian Siriano's eerily similar Payless collection, which came as a shocker for her.

I had a shot with Kate, but naturally, I look like shit.

OH MY GOD. Rodarte for the masses? I am doubting these got a green flag (how do you expect these to sell in Anytown, America?!), but they were debuted at his show 3 days ago. I'm sad they're only available in Fall. If I could get them now, I'd buy every single style. These styles will be a bit dated by then. BLAST.

The Pughmasta has moved to Paris, which is a great place to exhibit his exceptional work, being the capital of couture, but he was London Fashion Week's gem! It's aiight, I guess, since Viv Westwood and Burberry, to name two London fashion powers, don't even show in London either. Power to the Pugh! Dance to the Pugh-sic! Oh god. Get in queue for Gareth Pugh! I could give Henry Holland a run for his money with his wimpy "UHU GARETH PUGH". God, I'll do anything to keep myself from cleaning my room.

All of the looks are white in front, black in the back, and feature white plates with black underneath. Light coming out of dark. Hello Elizabethan Stormtrooper.
