I have a broken computer at the moment that I am trying to get all fixed up! It died on me yesterday! Started freezing and locking up and is driving me MAD! So I have someone working on it and hopefully it will be in working order SOON SOON SOON!!!!

Ok, yeah its the 3rd, but I am not going to be around tomorrow to wish everyone a happy 4th! We will be watching the parade (and hoping that they throw out something OTHER THAN Tootsie rolls! YUCK! Yes, I am totally appreciative of free candy, but tootsie rolls make me gag! And it seems like that is the candy of choice for all parade floats! LOL) Then we are off to go to a small lake to tube, swim, fish, hang out, then BBQ and of course fireworks! Its going to be such a blast!

On our way to a Chinese restaurant....
9 year old daughter: Where are we going to eat?
3 year old son (butting in:) To Chinese Sissy! Ok?
Daughter: No, I mean what's it called?
Son: Its called Chinese! Remember!!!!
Daughter: UGHHHH!!! MOM!!!! I just want to know the name of the restaurant!
Me: Its called Wok In Motion...
Son: No, that not the place! We going to Chinese!!!

Enjoying the breeze in the new car with the back windows down...
Tyler: Mom, I drinkin' the air!!! It tastes so good!!!!! (see photo above!! And yes I took the photo while driving, but dont criticize! #1 I was going slow! #2 I wasnt looking as I took it, I was holding my point and shoot over my shoulder! #3 You know you have done it/have been tempted to do it!)

Mid-meltdown mode after a long day....
(Tyler crying for no apparent rhyme or reason...well technically I am blaming my mom for this! Cuz they spent the night their last night and she let them stay up until midnight!!!! MOM!!!!)
Tyler: (sniff sniff) I need a KKKLEEEENNNNEEXXXX (in between sobs)
Me and hubby search frantically in the car in order to find a non-existent kleenex...
Finding a used one (yes, bad mom! Gross! I know!!! But seriously!!! I was desperate! What would you do?) We ripped off the used part and gave him the half-piece of kleenex (yes this part was clean and booger free! I promise)
Handing it nicely to Tyler...
"Tyler? What do you say?" (correct response? THANK YOU!)
Actual response: "IT BRRROOOKKKKEEENNNN!!!!"
Me: Its fine buddy! Just use it!
Tyler: No, it broken! I want a fixed one!!!
Crying escalates at this point and I am very tempted to stuff the booger ridden half of the kleenex in my ears. Did I mention this is my mom's fault???? THANKS MOM!!! I owe you one!

Crazy Imaginations....

So I am totally excited about the featured kit this week for the CAF-e! Challenge. Its bright, its fun, its totally funky but on top of that it totally defines my life at the moment! My kids are full of this amazing imagination that never ceases to entertain me. Always coming up with creative outfits and scenarios to share with me while I am TRYING to work! But I cant help but stop and laugh as my 3 year old comes to me with stuffed animals stuffed into his sleeves as "MUSCLES" and a cape around his neck and he tells me he is a super hero. Or my 9 year old who is CONSTANTLY changing and rechanging her clothes (ok, so that makes for an awful lot of clothes on the floor or in the laundry basket WHEN THEY AREN'T dirty!) But its cute to see what outfits she comes up with! So let your imagination take flight and have fun playing with this kit series!!!!

So I am really trying to ingrain politeness into my kids. I read once that you should "practice" calling your kids to you and have them politely say "Yes, Mommy?" or something of the sort. And I ignored the advice, but over the last few weeks, I have gotten increasingly tired of the
"WHAT?!?!?!"
"HUH?"
"Yeah?"
"Hang on a minute!"
...silence....."Did you call me Mom????"

responses that I have been getting! So yesterday I started "practicing" calling my 3 year old....

try 1:
Me: "Tyler come here a second"
Tyler: "Yes Mommy?" ahhhh...perfect children are so wonderful! He has caught on so quickly! What a little genius!

try 2:
Me: "Tyler come here"
Tyler: "Yes Mudder?" (ok, thats great...but where did he get Mudder from? He NEVER calls me Mother/Mudder) Ok, so maybe not a genius, but still wonderful!

try 2:
Me: "Tyler come here a minute"
Tyler: "How are you doing Mudder?" Ok so maybe he doesn't get it! But gosh, dont you love imperfection?????

So my little stinker is sick!

A couple of you asked for more stories about my little guy and while he's been a real comedian lately, this morning he woke up and wasn't being himself. And half-hour later I am on my hands and knees scrubbing my rug cuz my little guy has the flu! UGGHH!!! Poor baby! So its going to be a day of snuggling (but not to close, I dont want those flu germs!) ;)

Yesterday's best Tyler quote:

Trying to explain to my three-year old why PEOPLE cant be washed in a washing machine....

Me: "Its very dangerous, you could get hurt or die if you got trapped in the washing machine" (very morbid I know! But I dont need my 3 year old trying to get in the washing machine!)
Tyler: mouth drops open and eyes go wide...."Oh no! Do the clothes die too?"

Speed Scraps and toilet paper....

This week's speed scrap was SO much fun! And after a week like this one, the subject matter was rather...well...easy to come up with!!!
So I shared my dear sweet son's story of the nudist act he pulled at the store the other day! Well today another good one occurred......

I walk into our bathroom and notice two whole rolls of toilet paper, set perfectly in the toilet paper holder, but soaking wet....
Me: "Tyler...did you put the toilet paper in the toilet and put it back?"
Tyler: "No!"
Me: "Tyler, are you SURE you didnt put the toilet paper in the toilet? Its wet...see!!!"
Tyler: "I didnt Mommy!"
Me (slightly exasperated at this point and convinced that I fully need to teach my 3 year old the value of telling the truth!): "Tyler, are you lying to me? Did this toilet paper get put in the toilet?"
Tyler (slightly exasperated at this point too!): "No Mommy!"
Me: sigh...long drawn out pause follows where I try to contemplate getting a three year old to tell me the truth..."Tyler, I know that the toilet paper got wet in the toilet and that you put it back! Do you need to be in trouble for lying?"
Tyler: "No Mommy, the toilet paper was not in toilet! I put it in the bathtub!"

GEESH!!! Details!!!!

My son has been going through a "stage" (to put it nicely!) Pushing the boundaries of what Mom and Dad will and will not tolerate. Spitting out dinner, burping then laughing, bothering his sister to no end....but today...yes today, takes the cake! He dropped his pants in the middle of Marshall's while we were shopping.
"Look Dad! My pants are off!"
Ummmmm great!!!!
Sigh...
this stage does end right????
So...this is my public apology to anyone that saw the slight indiscretion at Marshall's....its just a "stage!" Double sigh!!!

I have found my new love! SPEED SCRAPS! Last night (Tuesday), we had a "Speed Scrap" in the DSP chat room. We had one hour (EEEK!) to complete a layout based on a posted inspiration piece!
