Korean Newspaper, JooAng Daily, talks of Europe's total devotion to Obama-in contrast to it's disgust for President George W. Bush-in a piece titled "Europe embraces Obama."

I thought the election was yet to take place. Have I missed something?

"For the Europeans who detest Mr. Bush, the American president is already history. Their attention is on the next president of the United States. More precisely, they are focusing on Senator Barack Obama, the Democratic presidential candidate."

The Khaleej Times , a United Arab of Eremites paper, agrees with the Korean paper:

"BARACK Obama has already won the US election by a landslide. In Europe, that is. Polls show the French putting the first African-American in the White House with 86 per cent backing. So you might ask why Obama is bothering. He's got this constituency sewn up."

According to the article from JooAng Daily, the Europeans know what America needs better than the Americans themselves. In fact, they want to crown Obama King of the world.

"An overwhelming number of Europeans think that Senator Obama is a more suitable choice to be the 44th U.S. president than Republican Senator John McCain, not only for the United States but for the entire world."

What makes him so great to the Korean paper?

"Just like in domestic affairs, Obama has proclaimed an intention to pursue cooperation rather than conflict in foreign policy. He would respect international organizations such as the United Nations and count on the goodwill of new global players such as China, India and Russia.

He is emphasizing soft power. He also expressed a willingness to personally meet with the leaders of rogue states such as North Korea and Iran, if necessary.

One of his key campaign promises is to withdraw U.S. forces from Iraq in 16 months after he takes office."

Roughly 30 years after the movie “Grease” hit the silver screen, the lyrics from one of its songs have renewed meaning. This Summer Americans are witness to a great romance between the parrot press and Barry Obama.

(I began this post last night and today I was listening to the podcast of yesterday’s Laura Ingraham Show, during which they beat me to the punch and played a snippet of “Summer Lovin’.” So I will include a portion of another appropriate song.)

There is little risk of the amore stricken media ever being “right.” “Journalists” from all forms of traditional media seem to be experiencing something similar to the “tingle” that runs up Spitball’s Chris Mathews’ leg at the sound of Barry Obama’s melodious (or is it malodorous?) voice. It must be love if so many reporters can view this man as an inspirational and eloquent speaker. They say love is blind, but it must also be deaf because unless he isn’t reading a prepared speech, the media’s Messiah can’t seem to string three words together. Not to mention the fact that he is completely disassociated from the truth or reality and it doesn’t seem to register with the fawning, eyelash batting reporters.

The Western Wall is the holiest sites in Judaism. The Obama camp showed its respect by plastering campaign signs for Obama all over the entrance.

JERUSALEM – Sen. Barack Obama's campaign plastered the entrance to the Western Wall – the holiest site in Judaism – with official campaign posters, WND has learned.

Jerusalem Police spokesman Mickey Rosenfeld confirmed to WND posters that adorned police barricades erected at the Western Wall plaza for Obama's visit were distributed by the presidential candidate's campaign.

"These posters were his campaign and not the doing of the police," said Rosenfeld, whose police department coordinated security and provided protection for Obama's visit today to the holy site.

Asked if it was traditional practice for politicians visiting the Western Wall to bring along posters or campaign materials, Rosenfeld replied, "No."

Here is some interesting information from the Wall Street Journal that appears to have been lost by most in the media due to their extended coverage of Obama's traveling show.

Support for Barack Obama hit a low not seen since early June on Monday, but the Democrat is still ahead of John McCain in the latest daily presidential tracking poll from Rasmussen Reports.

In the latest poll, Obama is ahead of McCain by just one percentage point, 42% to 41%. That’s Obama’s lowest level of support since he clinched the Democratic party’s presidential nomination on June 3, the pollster reported.

Barack Obama's voyage of discovery to Afghanistan was not without risk for the Democrats' presidential contender -- and the risk is not from the Taliban or al-Qaida, but from his past statements on both Iraq and Afghanistan.

He's skipped on to Iraq to hopefully establish credentials as a potential commander-in-chief. Voters may be easier to persuade than soldiers.

Criticism from his core base -- the radical left of the Democratic party -- that he's flip-flopped towards the centre to be more politically acceptable is unfair.

McCain and Obama both know they can't win in November unless their campaigns appeal to more than the extremes of their respective parties. Pragmatism dictates that homage be paid to the political centre as well as to true believers.

For Obama, this shift in emphasis is more cynical than McCain's compromises.
