Today's fiber of the week is from Araucania. I've noticed that when new people come into the shop, when they get to the Araucania shelves, they pause and go from yarn to yarn, marveling at the colors and enjoying the feel. This one is the Toconao, a perfect fall/winter yarn for any of your wearables for men or women. It's 20% off and available in 16 multicolors and 15 kettle-dyed type solids.

Sunday, November 1, is the first anniversary of Coveted Yarn the shop! What a wild year it's been, and to celebrate, Rob is really going crazy. Talk about Trick or Treat - it's all treats!
Starting at 6AM, he will announce yarns that will be on sale for 2 hours only. New announcements will come out every hour on the hour. So, the 6AM yarns will be on sale from 6-8AM, the 7AM yarns will be on sale from 7-9AM, and so forth through the day.
The announcements will be available here on this blog, via Coveted Yarn's Twitter and Facebook, and through special email blasts. We have set up a special email list specifically for this event - Anniversary Special Sales.

Fibers of the Week - Sept. 23

Two fibers of the week this week! Rob's feeling generous. Both are 20% off.

The one shown above is in the shop by popular demand - Rob tells me people kept requesting this yarn. It's from the popular Ella Rae line and called Mosaic. It's fun and fluffy and a great yarn for scarves or particularly cushy sweaters. Personally, I think it would make a great addition to a freeform crochet project. On to the second fiber of the week - it's a sock yarn found on our new sock yarn page. It's a terrific self striper named Indulgence and it is absolutely the softest sock yarn I've ever felt. There are two versions - one has aloe - mmmm. One of the things I've discovered over the past year is that sock yarns don't have be used for socks (duh!). It makes really soft scarfs, and a colleague of mine at work makes wonderful duster-type sweaters from self-striping sock yarns. The items look so complex because of the self-striping and they're delighfully machine washable. Here are the specs on Indulgence (one skein makes two socks):

You might know that the blogger (Maureen) doesn't get to pick the fiber of the week - Rob does. But I couldn't be happier with the pick for this week. It's Nautical Cotton by Louisa Harding that's 20% off. I haven't won the lottery, so I can't buy yarn every week, but this week, I'm certainly going to Coveted Yarn the store and pick up some skeins of this one. I've always been very happy with Louisa Harding yarns, and I really want to make myself a lacy summer scarf with this one to wear at work.
