'Have you got talent' crafty comp now launched

'Have you got talent' crafty comp now launched!!!We are launching our 'Have you got talent' Crafty competition today. The winners will get £100 plus a bottle of champers!!! There will be three runners up in each category and they will all receive£25 gift voucher each to spend at Crafty Computer Paper.We are going to set up the competition the same as last year, there will be four categories this year. You can enter any project which has been made using any Crafty Computer Paper products.
The three categories are;
Projects which have used decal paperProject which have used inkjet fabric sheetsCardmaking and ScrapbookingEverything else projects.
The competition starts from today 20/05/2008 and you can either send in a good quality high res photo of your projects via email. You can send them to us via post and we will photograph them and send them back to you. If you do not want them back we will give them to charity. You can enter more than one project in as many categories are you like.
The winners and runners up will have their photos of their creations shown on the Crafty Computer Paper website and the close of the competition will be 20th August so you have plenty of time to make some fab creations.
Please remember to send us your contact details and if possible a telephone number so we can ring you if you have won anything.

Chalet to rent in Switzerland

One of the girls in the office has got a Chalet in Switzerland to rent out. If anyone is interested then do please visit the site. It is in a great village in the Valais region of Switzerland. If you fancy a skiing holiday then it is a very ecomically way of doing it without having the spend a fortune is a big resort. It is also lovely in the summer time, peaceful and there are plenty of thing for the kids to do too.

Hi just to let you know that we didn't win the North-East business awards. A cafe called Pebbles in Allendale, Northumberland won. We wish them all the best for the future. We had a great time at the awards ceremony, it was a very lavish affair and it was great that us and the three finalist were girls as it is a very male dominated event. I think we deserve a pat on the back.
Anyway better luck next time!!

Finialist for North-East business awards

We will be going to another award ceremony next Thursday. We are one of the finalist 3 in total for the creative and cultural award for the North-East Business awards. I don't know how we will do against the other finalist. The good thing is that all the finalist are women, all the other awards will all be men. We are up against Stage Coach the stage school and a Gallery cafe in Allendale. I think that Stage coach will win because they are the biggest company and they will help more towards the community than we do. The Judges for the last award came to see us which was nice but we haven't heard anything from the Arts Couvcil who are judging this award.
Anyway please wish us luck for next Thurday.

North-East Business Awards result

Hi Everybody, We didn't win the Internet and ICT award last night but we did get a very nice certificate with FINALIST. We were very proud of ourselves as there weren't many girls there and out of 11 awards and 33 shortlisted people there were only 4 women. Only 1 woman won an award, congrats to her. We had a delicious dinner at the Gosforth Park Hotel and we were all feeling slightly jaded today but we kept carrying on. I should be in bed now but I just wanted to write this post first.

It was really exciting when it was our turn. I had to go up on stage with the other entrants and we had a watch a 45 sec film about each business, so pleased the dogs Pops and Lulu were on the film too. We then had a quick speech and the award was given to Northumbria University. I don't think you can compare our businesses and as they turn over 25 million a year, we didn't have a look in. Not to worry congratulations to them.

We have also been shortlisted for another award in the Final of the North-East Business Awards. This does not have regional catergories so we have been short-listed straight into the final. The award is for best Cultural and Creative business in the North-East. We are up against Stage Coach the threatre school and a local art/coffee shop. I think with winning awards it is luck and up to what tickles the judges fancy. If we don't win we will get another certificate to hang on the wall in the office.

We have just added Video to the site

We have just started to add videos to the site. We are adding small video demos on how to use some of the products. Charlotte has been learning how to add the videos and has had great fun in the process.
It is much harder to add video as opposed to still photography to the site. You need good lighting and the right equiptment. She started off buying Sony handycam video recorder, it took ages to choose the make and model as there is so much mind boggling info about each camera. She then had to add some hardwear to her computer this was an ilink cable port, this was very easy to do and only took a few minutes. The reason she added an ilink port was so that the quality of the video was better than using a USB port. The she bought some good lights which cost about £350 and some software Sony Vegas movie software. All this investigating took about 1 month but eventually she managed to work it all out and has had a great time putting the videos together. We have started off with the product how-to's and then we will be starting the on-line craft course, showing customers how to make projects, these will be free to view, we will email when they are ready.

Create and Craft TV great success

We have made a few appearances on Create and Craft TV this year already. Charlotte went down to Peterbrough to do two live shows. One was straight after Christmas on the 3rd Jan and the other was last Friday 1st Feb. She was so pleased at the reponse to the new CD 'The Crafty Images Emporium CD'. Sales were great and the feedback has been very positive. We really wanted to give good value for money with this CD. On the Cd is 200 printable sheets of high resolution images. They can be edited so you can print off the images you want rather than having to print off the whole sheet. We feel that other CD's on the market do not give you value for money, they either offer many images of low res and are not much good for printing off or they offer not many images and they are repeated in different sizes. I don't know what anybody else thinks out there.
We have been asked to go on Create and Craft again in March for a pre-record which means we show you how to use the CD again and the show is repeated. I think we will also go on using out papers too.
If you do not have SKY TV you can watch Create and Craft using your PC. You need to go to www.createandcraft.tv and you will be able to watch the TV from the Website. My Mum does not have Sky and this is how she views the programs.

Technology is amazing these days, anything is possible.

Shortlisted for North-East Business Awards

We are all very excited here because we have been short-listed for an award. It is for the IT award for Tyneside and Northumberland, North-East Business Awards. We are up against 2 big players these are Medibroker and Northumbria University. We are all going to an award ceremony on 28th Feb to see if we have won. Even if we don't win we are very excited to be short listed out on many entries. Please wish us luck we will be keeping are fingers crossed.

Happy New year to everyone, we have just returned from a great break. We all had a very relaxing time and I have to say we did not drink or eat too much which is amazing. It was hard setting the alarm clock this morning to come back to work but it's great doing something contructive again.

watch us on Create and Craft 3rd January

We will be appearing on Create and Craft on the 3rd January at 2pm. it will be a live show and we will be showing our new CD, 'Crafty images Emporium'. We are in the process of making all the samples and we will post them all on the site before the show. You will be able to download the images we have used for FREE and make the cards for yourself. We will only tell the mailing list customers and who ever reads this blog. We will let you know when they are posted on the site and on this blog.
We hope the show is at 2pm, the last time we went on they got the time wrong and it was a diaster because we told everybody the wrong time. We even sat down to watch it from here and when it didn't come on we realised we had the wrong time. Don't worry we will check and then confirm later. Charlotte will be demonstrating this time.

Well done Cazz for raising £3106 for Children in need. We had this photo taken with her when we were at the Hobbycrafts NEC. She was having her photo taken with everybody who had been on TV. She is on a large forum called e-magination and she asked all the members to pay money to see the photos. What a good idea!!! We gave her some cd's to sell which she managed to auction off. I think there should be more people like CAZZ well done from Crafty Computer Paper.

Back from the NEC

Hi Everybody and sorry we haven't added any more info to this Blog for a few weeks. We have been so busy being at the NEC and then catching up when we got home. Poor Jane was ill so we have been one man down, I am glad to say she is on fighting form again now.
We had such a good time at Hobbycrafts. We stayed at the Hilton Hotel (they had a special offer). It was very comfortable but very very expensive, you needed to take out a second mortgage if you wanted a drink. One night we slightly over celebrated and all suffered badly the next day.
The show was great and it was brilliant meeting all the customers, I was amazed at how many customers came with their 15% discount vouchers. We had planned the stand differently this year which I think worked well. We made it look like a market stall so customers could see the products better, they didn't have to come into the stand like last year.
Jan a new member of staff had such a good time she is missing the time she spent down at the show, we met some lovely people all very kind and enthusiastic with their comments about the products and the company.
It is great for all of us to come down and see our customers, we normally only ever talk to people on the phone or the email so it was great to see some faces.
Thank you to all those who we met and bought products from the stand.

Hobbycrafts the NEC 8th-11th November

We are getting ready to go to our annual show at the NEC. It always turns out to be a bit of a works do and we always have a good time. It's great to get away and meet new people and see the customers. We all have young families and it's great to have a break from the cooking and cleaning and general day to day duties. We will be staying in the NEC Hilton which will be a treat and it means we don't have to hit the motorways in the morning and worry about the traffic.

We have made some changes to our stand and we want to make it more like a market stall with bunting and lots of bright colours. We hope it works and we can hide behind the tables when it gets too busy. Last year it was amazingly busy on the Saturday we couldn't believe the amount of people who were there. This will be the last time we will do the NEC and we are hoping to go the Glasgow next year for a change. Glasgow is only 2 hours away and it will be great to see our Scottish customers.

Let us know if anyone is going to be at the NEC, do pop in an see is. I can't remember the stand name but we are on a corner somewhere in the middle.

The Office Dogs

Here is a picture of Pops and Lulu who are our office dogs. They are so cuddly and sweet!!! we love them. Do any of you take your dogs to work? We are lucky because the office is situated on a farm so we can just open the door and they have so much freedom, we just have to watch out for the tractors and the odd sheep and they are fine. Pops is the Mother of Lulu and they are mini wired haired Dachshunds. I don't know anyone else who has this breed of dogs, I'd love to hear from any Dachshund owners!!
