Samsung S5600 has already leaked some fifteen days ago with several photos and basic information. It is aimed at the style but budget conscious users with its relatively slim and compact design.

S5600 boasts a 2.8" 16M TFT display with 240 x 320 pixels resolution, which takes advantage of the built-in accelerometer sensor. On its back it features 3.2 MP camera with LED flash that comes with smile detection.

The midrange S5600 is quad-band GSM/EDGE that also offers fast data transfers via dual-band HSDPA 7.2 Mbps. Bluetooth v2.1 with A2DP and USB v2.0 are on board; sadly there is no Wi-Fi here. Samsung S5600 has only 80MB of built-in memory, but it's expandable via microSD card slot.

Samsung S5600 is expected to hit the European market in May 2009, but there is no word on its price.

Samsung are pioneering the Gesture Lock feature on both the S5600 and S5230. It enables users to simultaneously unlock the phone and open a menu item just by drawing an alphabet letter on the unlock screen. Users can assign various actions to any of the alphabet letters from A to Z.

The HTC Magic is very similar to the HTC Dream, the most obvious difference being the lack of hardware keyboard. This means less weight - the HTC Magic has shed a good 40 grams, and it's thinner too. Other, less obvious but welcome changes, are the improved battery life (just over two hours of talk time more), twice the ROM (it's now 512 MB) and an extra HSDPA band (900 in addition to 2100). The pricing of the new Vodafone HTC Magic is not yet announced.

The information from the two sensors is synced automatically to the Adidas phone and it can give you real-time voice guidance during workouts based on that. The phone also encourages users with music tailored to the workout. Also thanks to the built-in accelerometer in the Adidas phone, a double-tap on the phone will read out you're your current run stats including time, distance, pace, calories, stride, and heart rate.

All-in-all we dig the idea of a totally sports-oriented handset. The new Adidas/Samsung joint venture sounds interesting enough but some of us wouldn't mind passing on this one when it comes to reviewing it - there are little things a devoted person wouldn't do for the job these days and obviously running like mad is among them. Sony Ericsson today revealed T303, a new mid-end compact slider phone targeted to the mass market with its good looks and price. The Sony Ericsson T303 has been rumored throughout the past week and now it finally meets the bright light of day.Sony Ericsson T303 has a nice appearance thanks to its metal housing and chrome finish, as well as a mirrored screen. The 65K TFT display itself is rather small with its 1.8" and 128 x 160 pixels resolution.

The phone is packed with decent set of features as FM Radio, TrackID, 1.3 megapixel camera and Bluetooth. A serious downside however is that the T303 doesn't have a memory card slot, while its internal memory is only 8MB.

Sony Ericsson T303 measures 83 x 47 x 14.7 mm and weighs 93 grams and will be available in Shimmering Silver and Shadow Black colors.

Sony Ericsson T303/T303c is a tri-band GSM/GPRS 900/1800/1900 phone for Europe and China respectively but there is also an American version T303a with GSM/GPRS 850/1800/1900 bands support.

A certain point of interest is that the Sony Ericsson T303 follows the new Sony Ericsson naming convention that we informed you of earlier.

Sony Ericsson T303 will be available is selected markets from mid 2008.

Samsung G400 Soul

Seems like the CeBIT 2008 has got things running as Samsung announced their new Samsung G400 mobile - part of what seems to be now Soul family. The Samsung G400 Soul comes in the clamshell form factor (you've guessed it), and boasts a unique dual screen setup.The Samsung G400 Soul has a high-gloss brushed metal finish and a rich touch-centric user interface. The unique about the Samsung G400 Soul is that it has two identical displays - a 2.22-inch 262K color one on the outside, and a 2.22-inch 262K color one on the inside. The external display is fully touch-operated and gives access to multimedia features such as FM radio, music player, camera, and photos. It also displays the phone's system notifications. The external display also provides haptic feedback with short vibrations when touched. Pity enough, we don't have an image of the display actually working at this stage.

The Samsung G400 Soul is also equipped with a 5 megapixel autofocus camera that comes with advanced features such as face recognition, the widely advertised Samsung's Wide Dynamic Range optimization and image stabilization.

As far as connectivity is concerned, the G400 has fast 7.2Mbps HSDPA support with video calls, Bluetooth, and USB. A microSD memory card slot is also there to fill in.

Somehow we couldn't help but think that the G400 was meant to be announced along with the G900 Soul in Barcelona as Samsung used to do with their two previous Ultra lineups, but obviously the company has decided to keep thinks on focus and concentrate their marketing efforts on one product at a time.

The Samsung G400 Soul will be available in Europe from June.

Nokia 6650 and Nokia 6124 Classic Announced

Nokia is obviously running out of numbers. That became clear with the announcement of their spanking new Nokia 6650 at the CeBIT 2008. The thing is that there is already another Nokia 6650 - one of the first 3G phones ever to come to life. The original Nokia 6650 was also presented at CeBIT but way back in 2003. The other Nokia announced at the CeBIT 2008 is the Nokia 6124 classic which will be available exclusively for Vodafone.

The new Nokia 6650 is a stylish clamshell reminiscent of the Nokia 6555. It will be offered exclusively for T-Mobile customers - hence the logo on its front panel.

The Nokia 6650 is HSDPA-enabled and will offer full support for the T-Mobile exclusive services such as the web'n'walk internet service, the My Faves group calls service, and the Mobile Jukebox music service. A premium feature is the integrated GPS receiver, which thanks to the Assisted GPS service support will be able to provide quick positioning.

Armed with a 2.2-inch 16M color TFT display, the Nokia 6650 also offers a 2 megapixel camera with LED flash and 30 MB of internal memory. The list of features comes complete with a microSD card slot, FM radio and Bluetooth.

Design-wise the Nokia 6650 also packs a punch with the brushed stainless-steel finish reminding of the Nokia 6500 slide.

The Nokia 6650 will be available via T-Mobile's networks throughout Europe in Q3 2008 at a heavily subsidized price. In Germany for example, the Nokia 6650 will retail for just EUR 1 with the Relax 100 rate.

The second handset announced by Nokia is the Vodafone-exclusive Nokia 6124 classic.

3G enabled and as smart as Symbian smartphones get, the Nokia 6124 classic has a 2-inch display, a 2 megapixel camera and a microSD memory card slot. The Nokia 6124 classic is a Vodafone version of the original Nokia 6120 classic much the same way the Nokia 6233 has its twin in the face of the Nokia 6234.

But can we just say that the new design breathes life in the otherwise capable and compact Nokia 6120 classic - what a welcome change.

The Nokia 6124 classic will start shipping in Vodafone markets in Q2 2008.

Samsung i560

There are pretty few smartphones among the handsets made by Samsung, and even fewer of them are based on Symbian S60 OS/UI.

All rights to this User Interface software belong to Nokia, so it’s really hard for Samsung (and others) to come up with something their main rival hadn’t thought of yet.

Frankly speaking, until recently the Korean handset maker didn’t have any Symbian smartphones worth a look and the ones it had, didn’t have much appeal.

However this fall, Samsung introduced two interesting new smartphones: Samsung SGH-i550 and Samsung SGH- i560 models.

Among these two, i550 is in a better position to succeed in the market as a standalone model, due to its unusual navigation/control device (a trackball) and an overall better look. And especially now that Samsung i550w got it’s own Wi-Fi.

The prospects of the SGH-i550 ain’t that bright- it just doesn’t have that one thing that should sell it. And built-in GPS definitely is not it.

With the tentative price of 350 euro, Samsung i560 can hardly hope for any commercial success of this model; unless it can convince mobile operators to give an additional push for this handset.
