Crazy Man

Was up late last night, trying to catch up on some work. It is slow boring work that I am doing, and I fell asleep in front of my computer. :(

Woke up this morning at the table, neck and back killing me. Freaked out because the time was 8am and I thought I forgot to set the alarm and was late for work. :(

Ran around like a madman, getting showered and dressed for work. About to ring boss and beg his forgiveness for being late. Then realise it is Saturday morning!!!

I REALLY need this holiday that is coming! But for now, too much work to do and not enough time to do it. Back to work!

Man, my neck and back are killing me! :(

Neglect

I'm sorry my darling blog. I do love you, and I don't mean to neglect you!!!

(chuckle) Yeah, I know! I have problems... :P I have been reprimanded for neglecting my blog recently. What's new. You can see a pattern of neglect over the years, so you'd think it would be OK to stick to the pattern. After all, we are creatures of habit right? ;)

I'm pretty drugged up at the moment, so you'll have to excuse my ranting. The neuralgia pain in my face and head has been getting out of control. The referred pain is giving me severe headaches and is making me feel like I have a bad earache and toothaches. :( So I have taken some medication to reduce the nerve pain, and to help combat the side effects of that I have taken some other medication to "perk me up". Ahhh, nothing like some good ol' poly pharmacy to make things interesting. :P

Work is as crazy as always. So must work to get done, but not enough people or time to do it. :( I am keeping my head above water, but at a significant cost to my personal life. I balance the rewards against the effort, and so far work looks like the right thing to do, but I do miss her. :(

Could do with some more sleep. Had a bad migraine last night from this nerve pain, which is why I am drugged up tonight. But the drugs are keeping me awake worse than the migraine last night. Too many more of these 3 hour sleep cycles is going to cause a serious problem for me I think.

Anyhow, I'll see if I can do the right thing and start making regular entries again. They'll likely just be short and sweet journal entries, because that is all I have the time for. But I'll do my best to make them somewhat informative and entertaining.

On the topic of neglect. For friends and loved ones out there, I'm sorry for neglecting you all. I'll see you as soon as I can get away from work. Until then, the blog will have do.

iPod Touch

I have one of the new iPod touch thingies. Got all my music on it and am very much enjoying all the other features that it has.

I have it joined to my wireless network and am using it for email and web browsing and even this blog entry. The keyboard is a dream to type on and I am already faster on it than I am when using my blackjack pda. All in all I am seriously impressed with the the sexy little thing, and can hardly wait for the iPhone to be released in Australia. Having all these features PLUS the ability to connect to a mobile Internet service when I am not in range of a wireless network.

Anyhow, must run to bed. Have an early start tomorrow and am feeling quite sleepy. Big day ahead of me tomorrow too, so I really do need the sleep.

Nearly Did It

Another dentist visit yesterday. He ALMOST was going to take that last wisdom tooth out, but I stopped him. Chickened out. He was concerned that an infection was going to make it harder to remove, but I let him do a root treatment on the tooth and put a temporary dressing on it. It'll be good for a few months. I'll have it removed on a later visit. I am such a coward. :(

Mouth is still pretty sore this morning from other work done. It is crazy the amount of pain I have to go through just to have that perfect smile. But hey, I got to have something going for me right? ;)

Work this week has been as busy as ever. Lots of exciting stuff happening though, and reshuffles of staff through the company look to be turning out ok. I have strong hopes for the future, and am pretty comfortable that I will stay with this company for quite a few years to come. I am very lucky I have a good boss. :)

Well, mostly good anyway. ;)

Party this weekend with a mate. Cricket with some clients on Sunday. Hopefully the weather will be good.

240 Thousand Free from Three

OK, now this is hilarious. Stick with me on this one, it's worth it.

I have one of the 3 Skype Phones, which is basically a cellphone that has the Skype service installed on it. The result being you can use the 3 mobile broadband network to make free Skype phone calls. The handset is a regular prepaid cellphone service also, but I don't use it for that.

Anyway, the point of the matter is this. I just recharged the service to have some credit for the next two months, which is all I need to be able to make free Skype calls. :)

I logged into the 3 webpage using the handset to check the account balance, and noticed that it said I had 240 THOUSAND, yes that is 240,000 free SMS's remaining!!!

Now, I know I am supposed to get 240 free SMS's for the recharge period. I figured the webpage was just displaying the value wrong. So I sent an SMS and checked again... 239,999 remaining. OMG!!! One more SMS just to be sure... 239,998. WOO HOOOOO!!!

Now, do the math. 3 charges 25 cents per SMS. 240 thousand SMS's are therefore valued at $60K. That's right, SIXTY THOUSAND DOLLARS. (insert Dr Evil laugh here).
