Giant Squid Challenge

Due to a loss in the family, the blog is on hiatus this week.
For now, I'd like to post about the Giant Squid Challenge.

If you aspire to be a Giant or a Giant 100, the group is a great place for support and help. You don't even have to commit to creating 50 great lenses (or 100) this quarter; you can still join, and stay until you meet your goal.

The challenge group is to help you learn to create great lenses — not necessarily for becoming a Giant by December 30. So, if you love Squidoo and want to learn to be the best lensmaster you can be, join the group.

Folks who have received nomination letters should really consider joining because that nomination is proof to you that someone thinks you have what it takes.

Again, going for Giant or for the 100 Club, the group is for you for however long it takes.

I have several motivations for being a lensmaster - - building my businesses, building relationships with my readers, having fun, being part of an awesome community, giving back to that community, learning and creating. But the overriding motivation is expressing what matters to me. I've built lenses for many different reasons in my Squidoo journey so far, but I'm getting more and more into the area I love most, which is personal growth and spirituality. Squidoo provides a fantastic medium for writing, sharing and interacting about the things that are important to me . . . things I hope to educate others about . . . things that may impact others, make them think, or help to make our world a better place.

I can't stand it when lensmasters overwork the lens with css and html to the point where it takes over and detracts from the actual content. CSS should be used to enhance the content and to direct the attention to the important parts.
