Ah you see, thin lips might be good for bright lipstick (unless like my grandmother, your lips are so thin that they look like two lines) but thin lips can't work dark lipstick. Full lips can though because they won't disappear. I've always loved very dark lipstick but it makes my mouth disappear. Besides, I'm a smidge TheBroadroom.Nethttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11474971338995816520noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5086393.post-1076982428174830562004-02-16T17:47:00.000-08:002004-02-16T17:50:12.640-08:00Wow...that is methodical.
Definitely--a small mouth can wear bright or intense lipstick, better than full lips. On mine, it's "too much." So, I'm jealous. :) You have much more versatility.
I would like to announce here, that we--thebroadroom.net--have recently acquired The Lipstick Page.
The new Lipstick Page
LP is an old love of mine. :) It is the first Internet beauty forum that I ever TheBroadroom.Nethttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11474971338995816520noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5086393.post-1076867158750977312004-02-15T09:45:00.000-08:002004-02-17T08:49:55.170-08:00I really insist that I'm not the first to use flowers as inspiration. When I thought of it, I realized, "Of course! Artists have been using flowers and nature as inspiration forever!"
Haven't tried out the combo yet though. I'm still a bit afraid of eyeshadow. Also, I've been using each of my lipsticks and glosses with only mascara and blush and I want to finish with that before going backTheBroadroom.Nethttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11474971338995816520noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5086393.post-1076703849455657572004-02-13T12:24:00.000-08:002004-02-13T12:26:39.513-08:00Raphaelle...that is brilliant. I would never in a bazillion years have thought of that. And yet now that you've said it, it seems glaringly obvious? lol
I think that is part of the definition of genius. When someone invents something...oh, say, the pull-top of a soda can that stays on the can...battery-operated baby swings...VCR's...paper clips...it all seems patently obvious, as if we all TheBroadroom.Nethttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11474971338995816520noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5086393.post-1076692906187687492004-02-13T09:21:00.000-08:002004-02-13T09:24:16.483-08:00Gerbera daisies! That's what I got! They were absolutely gorgeous. I love this kind of flower. They look so natural and unpretentious. And they last forever too. They're still going strong at home. They've been drinking up their water and they're almost as beautiful as when I got them.
I can't take credit for the flower inspiration. Can't say one person in particular got me to do it TheBroadroom.Nethttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11474971338995816520noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5086393.post-1076437259221490292004-02-10T10:20:00.000-08:002004-02-10T10:42:28.403-08:00Okay folks some new Sephora stuff:

Forgive me, I can not spell my way out of a paper bag sometimes.
I love Gerbera daisies, thats what your flowers sound like.
Ohhhh, thats pure genius, using flowers for color combos! Love it! Nobody does color combos like mother nature. :)
I noticed that a nearby greenhouse has primroses for sale. I think I'll go get myself some tomorrow. I forgot to mention a few things... You know how my skin is all dry and sensitive around my eyes? Well, I was removing makeup with water (non waterproof mascara so it works). But I'm getting sick of wearing only mascara so I tried using unscented mineral oil to remove my mascara. After two days, my skin was red and irritated which was odd because unscented mineral oil is really gentle. I wanted one single dimple too (I liked the asymmetry of one lone dimple in on one cheek better). Hmmm, I wanted blue eyes and blonde hair that flips up too. And this was all before I turned 10...
Oh, you said you didn't know what sap green is... Think of evergreens. That's how deep the green is. And it's more yellow than blue. I thought they would make me look more all-American. :) Besides, two of my buds had freckles.
Naaaaowwww...I have not heard anything about SK. There are certain items that I dearly love in the SK line.
Of course there are the brushes...most of my brushes are in fact, SK. Then there are certain shadows. Starlight is the best I think.

Mine had almost every single item in the display clearance marked. The only things that weren't were the brushes. I wonder if its just going to be a major overhaul? I'd hate to see the line go, I like it. I don't buy alot from it, but I like it that its been kept small and simple. I have no freckles. As a kid I always wanted them. Thought they were cute. Later on learned that a lot of people think you should cover up freckles. Found that confusing. How's that for telegraphic writing? Anyhow, check out the Bobbi Brown site. The model for their Spring collection has tons of freckles. Very pretty.

Things have changed a lot since I was growing up. In the 70's - early 80's period, in the South, I would say most women wore a lot of makeup. And, if you read the beauty magazines (I certainly did), they always had a set routine for you to follow.
The thing is that it's not individual. What works, or is necessary, for one woman, will not work nor be necessary for the next.
I wore plainTheBroadroom.Nethttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11474971338995816520noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5086393.post-1076073997735763622004-02-06T05:26:00.000-08:002004-02-06T05:28:58.030-08:00I think I understand you and it sounds a lot like my philosophy. I've always worn concealer on pimples but I've never tried to cover them up completely, just mute the redness a bit. And when I wear tinted moisturizer or powder, the idea is not to change the texture of my skin but to just even out the skintone. You can still see my skin. I always run my face by my boyfriend when I wear tinted TheBroadroom.Nethttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11474971338995816520noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5086393.post-1076033315569444112004-02-05T18:08:00.000-08:002004-02-05T18:10:55.530-08:00I'm realizing that sounds rather nebulous.
I mean part of the purpose of makeup, is to emphasize some features and de-emphasize others. In the bitwise sense :) it is a mask.
I've been working like a slave on getting rid of my adult acne...and it is much better. I can forget on some days that I have it. But I always feel more comfortable with my tinted franken-sunscreen and powder on. Erm...just had to share. I have to write the guy back. I just think it's a cool site.
Ah, Dain. Dain is...a cosmetic genius.
I don't often use the word "genius." Recently, Johnny Depp is a cinematic genius, or at least is becoming one. Jackie Chan is a known cinematic genius. You have to be able to change people's lives...in a permanent way...in a way that no TheBroadroom.Nethttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11474971338995816520noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5086393.post-1075991874825452732004-02-05T06:37:00.000-08:002004-02-05T06:40:14.780-08:00My turn.
When I first discovered/rediscovered makeup I went through a time of wanton shopping/buying/searching/wanting. Anything new, I wanted. Anything I read about on the makeup boards or in a 'zine, I wanted. It was such a high, such a thrill. I loved the searches through the drugstores, the trips to the mall, packages from Sephora. I'd thought I'd died and went to heaven when I first TheBroadroom.Nethttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11474971338995816520noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5086393.post-1075987968876469572004-02-05T05:32:00.000-08:002004-02-05T05:35:07.716-08:00Why is it impossible for me to be a minimalist? Hmmm, I think it may be because makeup serves two purposes for me.
One is the same as most people: to enhance my looks. Now, if this were the only reason for me to wear makeup, I would probably have about the same amount of stuff as Josie. I'd keep the MAC Bare Canvas for an eyeshadow base, Lancome Black Coffee khol, Benefit Dandelion, TheBroadroom.Nethttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11474971338995816520noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5086393.post-1075938052410579712004-02-04T15:40:00.000-08:002004-02-04T15:44:44.513-08:00I have never actually thought of that.
I suppose...I feel there should be a formula.
I had to throw away a lot of my lipsticks, before. Before I had to do that, I didn't realize that I would have to do that. I mean I didn't comprehend how long it takes to make a dent in, much less use up, that many lipsticks. And that a good number of them would go bad before I could do so.
That's not quite TheBroadroom.Nethttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11474971338995816520noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5086393.post-1075935349153760682004-02-04T14:55:00.000-08:002004-02-04T14:58:06.950-08:00ahhhh, yes.....
the evil influence of our minimalism. :)
Thats funny.
Now you've given me a thought to ponder upon.
Why am I drawn to minimalism?
Why are you, Jose?
Why is Raphaelle not?
Don't feel required to answer, but please do if you so wish.

Well I was just joking about giving me stuff! I'm sure your sister can use whatever ends up on the swap pile. Or you can literally swap it. It's expensive stuff.
Hummm...sap green. lol I have no clue what sap green is. I can handle stuff like combining a taupe shadow with a rose shadow. Or a green shadow with a taupe shadow. Actually, the reason I want to get rid of some stuff is that there's so much that I just never wear. Or rather, I always make an effort to wear everything but there are some things that I just don't WANT to wear. I figure, why keep those? I'm quite a bit of a hoarder. However--do not let our discussions of minimalism, influence you too much. It is really individual.
