tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5071048.post-70603553936173522822008-05-19T09:07:00.003-05:002008-05-19T09:23:31.055-05:00Department of Energy Touts Wind PowerThe U.S. Department of Energy has just released a 248 page report entitled "<a href="http://www1.eere.energy.gov/windandhydro/pdfs/41869.pdf">20% Wind Energy by 2030."</a><br /><br />The report indicates that it is possible, with the right combination of political policies and incentives, for the U.S. to generate one fifth of our electrical energy by wind power. If we were to do so, we could also reduce the amount of carbon dioxide emitted when generating electricity by 25%.<br /><br />Surely this makes more sense than burning tons of coal and dredging the oil out of Canadian tar sands.Dr. Bruce Prescotthttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09120022296004446232noreply@blogger.com
